  • oh jeez, i skimmed over the title and i thought it said 6.0 LS2 miata at 17 psi. I prepared for the hardest erection of my life

  • lol It hought the title said ls2 6.0 miata 17 psi and i was like @_@

  • 0:59 you can here the gto crying. lol. nice race. colder temps at night help win that one???

  • I'm surprised the MSM even kept up, really. Of course there is not replacement for displacement. So, if the LS2 would be further tuned, there goes the chances of the MSM... not that has chance anyways since it tops at 130ish mph anyways.

But whatever, the MSM isn't a straight line speed car anyways, its more of a twisty road cruiser.

  • HA! I own a 402ci LS2 Goat but I was rottin' for the Miata from the get-go.

Very tastefully-modded Miata. Goats are SOOO slow until you start throwing the heads/cam treatment to them! :-)

Thanks for posting up. - Stang2Goat

  • my boost controller isnt working at all, i need help, i have connected everything like it should and hit the boost cut no matter where the controller is set to....wtf? im guessing the controller sucks @zz its the turbosmart boost controller from flyin miata, i might just have to send it back or something..

  • @diistriitglow @diistriitglow naw the msm's stock ecu wont let you go past approx 11.7 psi no matter what boost controller you have. if you dont have upgraded injectors I really dont suggest going past this anyway. hell I have 330cc injectors and i have been known to go lean around 13-14psi. to get rid of the boostcut you are going to have to make a 3 resistor jumper on the boost sensor. you can either send me a message and ill explain it or look for it on the msm forums.

  • as much as people make fun of the mx-5, those are fun little fuckers to drive

  • @Metallifreak91 You could even say that either way, they are being made fun of. ;)

I know I'm going to make fun in mine when I get one. I'd almost sell a kidney right now I want one so much.

  • @Metallifreak91 And that is why i have one = )

  • mx5 ftw. Best news is if it keeps pace with ~insert any car with a boot here~ in a straight line, it'll absolutely ruin it on anything twisty. fyi, if you'd got the mk1 the pop up headlights would have given you at least an extra 37bhp. True story.

  • @benpowersification 50bhp if one of the lights is removed to make room for a cold air intake. ;)

  • @bithloman I like the GTO, but the Miata looks better, handles better, and was staying with the GTO with only half the power. Miata>GTO

  • Best selling Sports car of all time for a reason!! Doesnt matter if its the Street, AutoX, Track Day, or DragStrip, there will be a MX-5 or at least some Mazda there. I own a supercharged '91 w/12psi!! I personally love the hate from the "Rice" tuner crowd... It keeps the children from buying up these great cars and ruining them!! Also means I dont have to worry about it getting stolen! Check out the car at FaceBook-dot-com/RacerXReloaded

  • Lol @ all these kids who think an MX5 is a girls car. Grow up children, and realize that the Mazda MX5/Miata/Eunos Roadster is probably the best, most affordable and reliable two seater sports cars the world will ever see.

  • @bithloman The mazdaspeed mx5 comes with a turbo stock, he just upgraded it more with more boost and probably a few hundred other things. He isn't necessarily overdoing either because the newer mazdaspeed models pump 15 psi all day long with no problems. bulletproof engine really.

  • @bithloman make it what it's not? fast? it's incredibly fast in the corners, but lacking on the straights. Why not spend a little and fix the power issue. I had an evo and upgraded to a much faster boosted miata that's track ready, for less than the evo cost.

  • @bithloman Of course I drive an mx-5 I bought my mx-5 brand new because I wanted a mx-5 & it came with a turbo which is even better.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs Dont even worry about his sorry ass, man. A typical GTO or Camaro fan/owner (notice, I didn't say GM) will hate on anything that's on the road and claim that his car is the best out there even when it's clearly getting its ass handed to it. And then they wonder why nobody likes them

  • @olvanish gto/camaro owners are fuckin retarded one attempted to race me in my stock miata thats right bone ass stock from the line the moron was running nitrous and forgot to put it in gear for the launch i watched his ngine explode then i just waved and drove away literally laughing my ass off i really wish i had the gopro going that day nothing like watchin a stupid kid fail at racing

  • ...but it's still a Miata.

  • fuck these mazda's they are female cars... hell i cant even sit in one without being in the fetal position.

  • you got that right or some young boy who hasn't enter pubetry yet but know so much about cars the nearest he get's to a car is his daddy taking his dorky butt to school anyway who really care's who's car is faster i like both your cars i have a monte carlo and a miata wouldn't mind having a gto even though i like the old school gto judge

  • i have a miata and thats bonkers that it can b so fast..imma hook my shit up lol...sks

  • i've never seen a GTO make over 400hp with intake and exhaust, not even with a tune.

at best that goat is making around 360-380hp

  • LS engines actually get pretty good gas mileage, he probably gets around 25mpg highway, I doubt you get over 30, so the savings isn't that much.

  • @admiralbuttrcrust lsx motors get good MPG in the vette because of its weight. the MPG in the zeta platform cars (gto, g8, camaro) is pretty poor because they weigh around 3800lbs. almost 600 lbs over the vette.....yikes!

  • @BlueAvenue22 the vette weighs 3400lbs..... how is that light?

the vette gets decent mpgs from its very long gear ratios, and it makes torque so that a quick jab of the pedal is enough to pass any car with ease, not from its weight. the other cars get into the mid 20s..... thats pretty good mpgs for cars rated at a minimum of 350hp to the wheel.

  • 440 ??? try 365 hp gatta love youtube specs

  • @jrogljacin yeah people are fucking stupid, my GTO is cammed and fullexhaust and it makes 440....and it would fuckin toast that miata

  • @Despised17 I doubt it would toast it, but it would definitely walk it pretty good. That MSM isn't making over 200whp. Of course if he did about $1k worth of mods (250-260whp) he would pull you.

  • Driving a fast miata is like coming out of the closet, you'll probably surprise a few people but ultimately you're still gay.

  • Power - balance. This is America not Europe. We drag race here.

  • @osudude99 Not everyone in America is a redneck. There are road courses all over the country, and they do very well.

  • lol like 4000 pounds vs 2000

  • @ChevyFtWss The MSM is closer to 2800lbs.

  • If your not scared your not going fast enough-Ken Block (When he had an STi)

A balanced car always wins over power, power means nothing if you can't control it-Keiichi Tsuchya

(I won't read stupid replys you waste both your time and mine) -3

  • All you GTO ppl posting times and hp just sound DUMB who cares? Balance-Power. I'd rather go fast around turns than go fast on a straight line. It's more of a thrill you can't open up that throttle on curves in your 6.whatever but in the miata you can go flat out, with faster cornering speed, grip, control.

  • Way too much arguing over the internet about cars people don't even own. What happened to appreciating what you have, why does it have to be that some dickheads feel the need to shit talk others?

  • I don't get why people post stupid ass comments on youtube. It's like the people who comment don't even have cars to drive. They brag about how "my car would spank your car", or "I'm pushing 60000000 horsepower from my imaginary skyline that's parked in my imaginary mansion. People need to grow up. If you don't like the shit you just saw, keep it moving.

  • @vinnybarretto You've nailed why the stupid comments are posted. They're mostly posted by little kids in school who won't even get a chance to drive for another 4-5 years. Oh and also jealous losers ;-)

  • great video! I get 27+mpg (real world) with 197rwhp on a 96 miata. I love the GTO too though. Not sure why all the hate, to each his own. I now have 127,000 miles and my car runs as smooth as the day I bought it. So many new cars with big HP numbers, but are they really as fun to drive as a Miata? Up to the driver I guess.

  • Just so you know, that Miata is a sleeper but i wouldn't be proud of being barely able to keep up with a stockish 6.0 Ls2 on a brick and maybe beat it in a such Lightweight vehicle, actually i would be in shame if i knew i was running at 17PSI instead, the Ls2 hits high 1200's horses at the wheels of Corvette with around 20PSI and built motor/tranny to support it,a 17PSI Miata would be cool till a 17PSI LS2 Trailblazer (2.5ton truck) appear.

Miata's a beauty over the other 4cyls roadsters though.

  • @truebassB But that same Miata can still rape most cars on a road course. You won't find a Trailblazer or GTO doing that.

  • @reminiz1 at night air is cooler you were correct about, but cool air is more dense thus making it weigh more, just saying

  • miata pulled better at night cuz the air was cooler and not as heavy, good run for both cars

  • Yea but your comparing your 2xxx lb car to a 4xxx lb car.... Put your Miata on a dyno!

  • Alright. To settle the arguing. The GTO is mine, it put 355hp 365 tq down on the dyno.

  • Sorry, but your not getting 440hp from just exhaust and intake on the goat.

  • you would have to have a diffrent ecu because of the injectors woudlnt you?

  • As fast from a roll is not as fast imo. I don't even like the gto's, but I'm sure it would eat you up in a real drag race. I'd still rather have the miata, because a lighter car is always going to be more fun to drive.

  • @mooosestang I have Dunlop Direzza sport star spec tires 215-40-17 treadwear 200 & they have serious grip 0-60 mph watch ( Mazdaspeed mx5 0-60 13 psi )

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs My point is the GTO has a ton of torque and it will move out from a dead stop. 0-60 is nothing, I'd rather know your 0-60 foot times. Take it to the track and run a mid 12 second 1/4 mile, because that's about what a modded gto will run. I just put yokohama S. drives on my mustang that makes 400hp/412tq at the tire and they are pretty impressive considering how much I'm asking from them.

  • Miatas are fun, like a nintendo Wii.

  • very nice!

  • The big v8 muscle cars gets beaten buy the 1.8 liter 4-cylinder Japanese car!

  • lot of people bitching here and too many internet mechanics saying the GTO is 350whp, the miata has alot less than 300whp! its only because they dont like seeing a "hair dryer" keeping up with a muscle car, why nobody takes power to weight ratios into consideration i dont know, if you take that LS2 and stick it in the miata and raced again, the miata would destroy the GTO, glad he kept the 1.8 though, retains the balance and fun of the miata, isnt that why we tune our cars anyway... for fun...?

  • I dont know why anyone is arguing, that title does not specify at the wheel so who gives a shit if he put 440 hp. Fuck I dont care if he put 90000000 HP, its a Miata beating a GTO, plain and simple.

  • Whoa! That Miata must have about 250-275whp!

  • The stock Mazdaspeed turbo is not meant to push 17 psi because it is a small turbo I have only turned it up to 17 psi a few times. The rest of the time i have it set to 14.5 psi. 14.5 psi seems to be the sweet spot for this turbo.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs What turbo do they run stock?

  • @f34rthe4banger A small IHI turbo.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs Those are pretty small, no lag at all though. Is it a IHI vf series like the sti turbos?

  • @f34rthe4banger It is a IHI RHF5. The inlet of it is about 4 centimeters. No lag at all.

  • dont get me wrong in anythin ima say....i have a silver 05 GTO with headers OTRI mid pipes and i dont have 440hp.(to the wheels)..that goat is prob pushin 360 max at the wheels...plus how much it weights??? not a fair race.....but in the other hand the goast do have 6.0l at least the 05-06 not the 04 -___- i own one n ima get rid of it(weights too much n gas is a killer =/) n have my friend already building a turbo miata hopefully ima get it to 300hp ;) nice video and miata

  • At 15,000 miles a year at highway gas milage my 1.8L engine at $3.00 a gallon saves $670 in gas over a 6.0L engine. My intake was $230 downpipe $150 water meth kit $250 & injectors $180 = $810 So after a year & 3 months alone of gas savings I was able to make my car as fast as a car with an engine with 3 times the displacement.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs

No how did the injectors and water kit increase the stock turbo from 10 psi to 17psi? or did you get that tweaked as well?

  • @0311Grunt2008 Go to the Devils Own website forum for more info on water methanol injection it has a lot of information on how it works. It allows you to turn up the boost with a boost controller.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs

Now did the the injectors and water meth kit increase the turbo psi from the stock 10 psi to your 17psi? Because im trying to do that to my mx5

  • @0311Grunt2008 I have an intake kit from flyin miata that came with a manual boost controller I can turn the boost up with it The water & methanol allow you to turn up the boost more than stock The stock injectors max out at 12 psi With water meth injection I was able to turn the boost up too 14.5 psi without any pinging With larger injectors I was able to turn the boost up to 17 without any pinging Also i disconnect the throttle position sensor or hit full throttle above 5500 rpm if connected

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs First off, you have a very nice Miata there. Excellent car, and very nice turbo car. Problem is, it's a race. Nobody cares about Hp/L, nobody cares that you can finance food and clothing for fourteen kids in a third world country on the fuel savings vs. the GTO. That's ricer math. You didn't pull in the first run, and barely in the second. With no cameraman, he would have pulled. With the camera in your car? Horrible loss. You have similar power to weight, no more...

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs On a side note, those cars get better fuel economy with a CAI, full exhaust and tune. Incidentally, was he tuned? If he wasn't, he should have been. You would have lost and he would have gotten better fuel economy while winning. See a pattern here? Change one variable and you lose... Now if you want a race, go find a Solstice GXP with similar mods to yours. Two TENTHS of a liter displacement advantage, slightly heavier, similar fuel economy... and it would bury you...

  • @Rote70SS You left off BIGGER TURBO. MSM is rated at 185hp, Solstice GXP at 260hp. I sure hope the GXP would win since the weight is pretty similar. Change one variable and the Miata would win, too. Add a turn...GTO is done.

  • @Nathan666 Notice I said "similar mods", not stock for stock, as the Miata in question obviously isn't stock. If you turned up the boost in the Miata, the GTO would lose.... until you moved the passenger to the Miata. You would have an even race... again! Amazing! But that's what happens when you add weight to a car that relies heavily on being LIGHT. Remove the passenger and the GTO may get edged out. Add a tune and LT's, and the GTO wins. We could do this all day...

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs Heck, just for shites and giggles you could look up a C5 Z06 to play with. CAI and a tune and... guess what? Thirty three to thirty five highway mpg with that big, sluggish, outdated V8 and it would walk away from you every time. "But that's a Corvette" you say... no, it has a similar engine to that heavy brute of a GTO, just a lighter chassis and better Cd. My point is that it's not Japan vs US or V8 vs turbo. It's power, weight, and gearing, and THAT'S ALL.

  • Comment removed

  • @Rote70SS Now if the Miata had a V8 swap, then the Corvette would have a bit of trouble...

  • @Rote70SS I ran a modded (exhaust for sure) C5 Z06, and I put several cars on him...with only 226whp in my Miata. I beat him so badly that the cop who pulled me over couldn't say I was racing because the Vette was soo far behind. Still got the 74 in a 40, but totally worth it.

  • @Nathan666 Cool story, bro! Considering your car weighs about a thousand pounds less than the Vette, I would expect that outcome. It's exactly, EXACTLY what I said in my post: power, weight, and gearing. Go run any newer 600cc bike and see what happens. It'll crush you with ONLY 100whp. Why? Power, weight, and gearing. You missed the entire point of that post by trying to "win" the tiny turbo motor vs. big V8 argument, which I never even tried to make!

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs

You just witnessed a boosted miata lose and then tie a goat with intake and exhaust and you're going to brag about how fast they are to make fast? Boost a miata and shit and it will break down much quicker than that ls2. Its a weak motor and not one you should waste money on. I spent $800 on my Z and got 400rwhp and its 20 years old. A boosted miata will never see 400rwhp and if it does it won't last 20 years. Miatas are for pussies

  • @jabba12000 I call BS. I got a buddy of mine who has a Z33 and you can not get 400whp for $800. The stock turbos won't do it, and the OEM IC won't either. Neither of those can be done for $800.

  • @Nathan666

lol idc what you call i know whats in my driveway and you don't. My 300zx makes 400rwhp on 16psi maxed stock injectors and maxed out stock turbos. I just flywheel, intake, exhaust besides the apexi avcr tuner set at 16psi.

  • @jabba12000 I know what is possible, and unless you were on a fucked up dyno, that isn't gonna happen. If you make 400whp then this GTO makes 440whp.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs but you'd look like the biggest bitch ever

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs thats really cool and i think way more intelligent then most other americans think!what does 17 psi mean? higher turbo pressure?

  • @Rocco0002 Yes psi stands for pound per square inch. It is how turbocharger boost pressure is measured.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs you could also use KPa so no one will understand you LOL

  • Fast miata, I like it! What are you running for engine management? (dear god please dont tell me your running 17psi on the stock ecu) and how the crap do you have the stock turbo pushing 17?

  • theres some previous hostility here. its a 6.0L SMALL block not a big block. SECONDLY if youre going to bad mouth the motor then i dont know what youre talking about b/c the motor itself makes more power than the 1.8L and a miata with a bone stock LS2 swap will mop the floor with this 1.8L.

  • 6.0 Liters for what. Miata's very well proven here.

  • Shit, that GTO is sick as fuck.

  • Ha sweet.

  • u should buy an older model mx5 and slam a small block conversion kit into it :D

  • much props to the miata

  • How much hp does the mx5 have here ?

    just curious..

  • @daftmou5 About 265 hp to the wheels.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs: I find it extremely difficult to believe that you're pushing 265 at the wheels on the stock IHI. That's to say nothing of doing the same on the stock block and not bending a rod. Got a dyno plot?

  • @ninjagod1337 The 1.6L and the 1.8L blocks are VERY strong.all were meant to be turbocharged out of the factory.a stock mazdaspeed has around 178hp..so with flyin' miata intake and downpipe, water/meth kit, and the injectors with 17 psi..yeah its not that hard to achieve around 265hp.especially when the stock mazdaspeed is only pushing only 6-8 psi at 178hp.Btw ive owned 4 miatas and my dad has owned 11

  • @mike389 There is a very big difference between 265 crank hp and 265 wheel hp. The poster claims the latter. A stock block will not handle 265whp. You'll bend a rod quite quickly.

  • @ninjagod1337 There are plenty of people who have been at 300whp on the stock block and running that way for years. There's even videos on here. Now for an extended period of time like track use, 250+ whp may be too much. On the street though people have been fine with it. Of course this is assuming a good tune and correct supporting mods.

  • @mike389 If they are strong motors how come you and your dad, between the two of you, have gone through 15 miatas??? Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to me.

  • Yeah 440flywheel horse. My GTO has the same mods and makes 380 to the wheels, which is about the equivalent of 445 to the flywheel

  • Its too bad that fags and queers love the miata, kind of really ruined the reputation of a good ride! The Miata is like Brad Pitt, its a great thing, but way too many fags like it & at the end of the day its not that great.

  • @roshg1 It only got that reputation because the first gen was a little girly looking... it's really just a running joke. I got the 3ed gen and I get complements all the time. Most people don't even know it's a Miata. So what if a few morons think it's a gay car, the Miata is just plain fun to drive. I'm sure there are people out there think whatever car you drive is gay.

  • @roshg1 Sounds like someone with a miata stole your girl HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Spoken like a real ignorant a-hole lol

  • 440 hp with intake and exhaust? lmao\

    more like 340

  • I'm a former miata owner and lover myself. I personally would have used a LS 1 in my miata but, each to their own. Also why is it when anyone does races it is always on a roll? Why not 2 cars, heads up with a flag person, and who ever gets to the finish line first is faster? Call me old school but it always made more sense back in the day.

  • ur mazda sounds like my blender

  • That was cool to watch. I love the Miata.

Also, wow on the comments. It's just a cool video, why make it into a flame war?

  • 440 hp is over estimating the GTO... unless you mean long tube header exhaust... I'm at 430 rwhp around 500 flywheel hp with cam, long tubes, intake, other boltons

  • @jpap967 I can't keep up with how much HP everyones car makes they said 440 so I put 440. Motortrend says the stock 2006 Pontiac GTO with LS2 engine makes Power: 400 HP SAE @ 5,200 rpm; 400 ft lb , @ 4,000 rpm so an intake & exhaust work means it is going to have more. A 1.8 L beating a 6.0 L is something to be proud of + I get better gas milage on top of it.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs motortrend also ran a 13.6 with a stock GTO, so wow you beat a low 13 second car....... AMAZING!!!! if your car wasnt 1,600 lbs lighter then yes maybe your 4 cylinder would be impressive, but its really that fast man. i wish that i thought 13 seconds was fast, it would have saved me ALOT of money lol

  • @Fuku2hoe What's hilarious is when when people like you say that "There's no replacement for displacement, hurr durr. Muscle cars RULE!" yet when you see a 6.0 big block V8 almost getting dusted by a "puny" 1.8 with only 265whp, you quickly say that the muscle car was "slow" to begin with. Oh the irony.

  • @wajalama theres some previous hostility here. its a 6.0L SMALL block not a big block. SECONDLY if youre going to bad mouth the motor then i dont know what youre talking about b/c the motor itself makes more power than the 1.8L and a miata with a bone stock LS2 swap will mop the floor with this 1.8L. THIRDLY 440 is kinda high for an intake and exhaust gto.

  • @wajalama What's hilarious is when people don't understand that phrase. Saying the 1.8 makes 440hp but with a huge turbo. Put a turbo on the LS2 and see how much power you get. There is no replacement for displacement. Only ricers argue that.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss Yes, the LS series is good for it's power, but don't forget that it also adds weight to this featherweight car. If the LS series were such good bang for the buck, I'm quite sure that every enthusiast who owns a Miata would replace their stock 1.8 with that. But they don't. Makes you wonder, hmm?

I, for one, would keep the stock 1.8 liter engine and fully build it for the same price as tuning an LS1 and whoop other cocky muscle-heads on the drag AND on the track.

  • @wajalama I'm not the one that suggested the swap but I agree it is not a great bang for the buck and that is why many people don't do it...they simply can't afford it. The swap can cost well over $15k. Where as a good 300hp turbo kit will cost you around $3500. I'm not made of money so I also would choose to keep my 4cyl, slap a turbo on it, and just have some fun.

  • @wajalama its like $400 to rent a dyno and tune an LS!... just like any other car. itll prolly actually be cheaper to do the swap horsepower per dollar. but NOT at all easier and its time consuming. i think THATS why no one does it, alot of miatas are daily driven and cant be out of commission for that long so they stick with the stock motor and add one mod every pay check. ONly the hardcore people actually get LS swaps and theyre monsters on the street.

  • @MyOpinionMatterss "Engineers hate the phrase "no replacement for displacement." It assaults every principle they hold near and dear. Displacement breeds weight, bulk, skewers fuel consumption, increases emissions. Displacement is the last resort, the final desperate measure, the least common denominator."

  • @wajalama Interesting quote. Too bad fuel consumption and emissions are the last thing drag racers think about.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs Again, people fail to understand a 4 cyl beating a v8 on boost is nothing new. Yeah your car is slightly faster than the V8, but look at how much work you had to to do to beat a basically stock v8. Displacement matters only if you put the same amount of work into the v8 as the 4 cyl had. I.E. turbo charge the larger 6.0 L engine and it will mop the floor with the 4 cyl. You have a very nice car regardless.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs Also, I've known some 4 cyl to get worse gas mileage than my cammed 6.L v8. MY friends subaru at 300 whp loses to my GTO and gets worse gas mileage than I do. I get 16 city and 24-26 hwy, he gets 15 city 20 hwy... It's not all about displacement. LAw of physics, to get more power out of an engine, it needs to burn more fuel more quickly, 4 cyl can be faster than a V8 it's just gotta use more fuel via turbo and in your case weigh much less.

  • @jpap967 The Subie driver is beating on it to get 20 mpg, and you are babying the hell out of it to get 24-26 mpg.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs ehh my 6.2L truck gets better fuel economy than my buddys miata....although his has 100+k miles on mine and hes got a lead foot, 25mpg out a 6.2 is commendable imo, nice video though, thats a fast lil mazda you got there man

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs good job. My miata is still new... only 1 mod so far.. when I can I plan to get turbo, header and catback. Only have intake so far. You can see it on my channel :)

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs incredible... :) I'm actually looking to sell my car (02 E55) now to get a mazdaspeed (miata). I used to have an RX-8 (04) and an 07 mazda 3 (me & a friend turboed the 3 after driving the speed3 - it was a lot of fun but gas milage was a total disaster, so we sold it:). Just Love Zoom-Zoom...

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs

Not to be rude but you beat a 300-320whp car not 440.

  • @bowtieCYRUS learn your stuff

    WHP Dummy...learn your stuff.

A motor making 400HP stock at the flywheel will make like 300-320WHP. Intake and exhaust don't add all that much HP. Just because a Flowmaster box says you'll gain 15-20HP doesn't make it true. I would honestly be surprised if it makes 320WHP with just a different intake and exhaust system without tuning.

  • @bowtieCYRUS they said 440 so well go with 425. that being said its not gonna lose 105 hp at the wheels i know it loses but that to much to be lost, its usually about a sixth depending on some variables

  • @rameywrestles

IRS cars lose more power at the wheels than live axle cars, we have Z06's that get dyno'ed on a regular basis at our shop that put down 400-450 at the wheels with long tubes, full exhaust, intake, and tuned. We have a customer with an LS2 GTO with MS3 cam, Headers, ported LS3 heads, Monaro intake manifold, FAST 90mm TB, 10.5:1 CR, Forged internals, and a 150 shot of N2O that puts 560 to the ground on the bottle and 425 on motor. Run against a real 400 hp car. LOL

  • @bowtieCYRUS The LS2 GTO loses 17.4%HP through the powertrain..So a stock LS2 Goat will normally put down anywhere from 330-340 rwhp, depending on conditions at the dyno that day. With exhaust and CAI your talking about a 7-10 HP addition to the tire. I actually have an LS1 GTO that I got stock, and it dyno'd a 291 rwhp. when I added CAI, LT's and exhaust w/ tune it was up at 337 rwhp.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs no one cares about gas mileage. that being said good job lol.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs congrats your 17 psi 1.8 may have a mid 13 sec run in it. haha 17 psi and barely beating a high 13 sec car at best come on guy set your goals a bit higher than that.

  • @MrChullss 2005-2006 GTO:

    6.0 LS2 V8 400hp 400tq

    0-60: 4.7 seconds.

    1/4: 13.3 seconds.

You can go ahead & argue that with the GTO people.

I have had 0 to 60 times of 4.5 seconds on video. I have Dunlop Direzza sport star spec tires 215-40-17 treadwear 200 & they have serious grip.

Im happy with my car. I turn the boost down when I drive in the curves. Do not really need it in the curves.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs I give you props for beating a much larger cubic inch car but you are racing a gto with less hp than stated. Race a 4 gen ls1 and that would be a good benchmark .

  • @MrChullss miatas aren't meant to go straight they are 1 of the most enjoyable cars I have driven through turns and I used to own an evo but anyways 17 psi from a turbo the size of my left nut isn't gonna make much power I say 300 tops but still slim it's untuned and on a stock block and head if I were him I'd be content cuz that thing will still take out some serious cars around a track miata's are very balanced and that's the joy of them I would take balance over straight line speed anyday

  • @MrChullss 17 psi on one of the smallest turbos you'll find. it would be lucky to make 200whp.

  • after watching a few fast miata videos i kinda want to get one cheap and engine swap it .

  • night time is better for the turbo.good race man...a 1.8 vs 6.0l..epic

  • haha, 17psi with a meth kit. fail fail fail.

  • awsome miata i was thinkin of trading in the 6i to pick up a MSM btw the people tht say its a chick car well..........ur bitch ass just got beat by tht chick car

  • @Fuku2hoe FM intake & boost controller $230, a year or so later FM downpipe $150 used, a year or so later DO water meth kit $250 bought from someone who never used it & GM map sensor $20. a year or so later 321cc injectors $180. I did a little bit here & there & before i know it Im keeping up with a 6.0L which is more than double my engine. My friends said it had 440hp so that is what I put on the video. I can't keep up with how much HP everyones car makes they say 440 I put 440.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs . your friend is a liar or he believed that a K&N filter added 25 hp.... his car has about 370 rwhp tops, and it weights 3900lbs so you did good but that GTO really isnt much to be bragging about.

  • @Fuku2hoe Motortrend says the 2006 Pontiac GTO with LS2 engine makes Power: 400 HP SAE @ 5,200 rpm; 400 ft lb , @ 4,000 rpm stock so an intake & exhaust work means it is going to have even more. A 1.8 L beating a 6.0 L is something to be proud of + I get better gas milage on top of it. The opposite of envy is joy at the success of another.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs 370 rwhp is approx 420hp at the flywheel, he did gain a few hp, but you do not gain 40hp from exhaust and intake especially on a GTO where the intake system is already very free flowing stock. man im in the same boat as you my mini-van just beat the shit out of an 18 wheeler with 1,500 ft lbs torque and 800 hp, and all i have is a k&n filter!!! just because it has alot of hp, does not mean its fast...

  • @Fuku2hoe Well somehow you are just going to have to live with the fact that in the automotive world sub 5 second 0 to 60 is considered fast. A sub 5 second 0 to 60 400+ HP 6.0L sport car is considered fast. The fact that my 1.8L was able to keep up & even pull ahead is fast. If it makes you sad that i am happy that is a form of envy. Beside being fast my Mazdaspeed mx5 handles awesome in the curves. And it looks good people yell out "nice car" quite a bit when i got the top down.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs im not gonna bash u cause there is no point... if you consider your car fast then thats great for you. im neither happy or sad that your car beat a GTO, but in the world of aftermarket parts and bone stock z06's running low 11's (real world, not dumb ass editors that dont know how to drive) your car is considered as "quick". btw i like miata's but i have to throw in 1 comment, did the guys saying "nice car" have a rainbow sticker on the back?? haha couldnt resist!

  • @Fuku2hoe Envy & wrath make the person who is envious & wrathful internally miserable. Obviously others success moves you to have to say negative things & that is a form of envy. Envy eats a man from the inside out. Obviously you are blind to the "real world" you make out like low 11 sec cars are common. In the real world if you sat at a bus stop all day you would see very few if any at all 11 sec cars.

  • @mazdaspeedmx512lbs lol getting all religious on me now? trust me dude im not envious of your car, if i was i'd go buy one. miata's arent that expensive and easily attainable. i dont know where you live, but in south florida there are thousands of 11 sec cars driving around at any time. i daily drive an 06 evolution 9, with 420awhp and it runs 11's all day long on pump gas. either way dude, have fun beating intake/exhaust cars. be proud....

  • @Fuku2hoe Yeah dude Florida does have a lot of cars, but to say 11 second cars are everywhere r u out of your mind lol, its rare to see even one drive down the street. Now on the matter of 1.8l going up against an LS2 6.0l Gto is an incredible feat. I personally love my boosted MX5 and and one of my favorite things to do in this world is to race down bigger cars and enjoy watching the reactions of the drivers girlfriend and the driver get smoked by my Miata. My favorite thing in the world. lol

  • @reyes1987 u guys are so proud of beating a low 13 second car in the quarter mile, its hillarious! and i bet half the people u beat get the last laugh as u drive by with your rainbow sticker on the back...

  • @Fuku2hoe You've got a better car? So? Is it the best? No? Then? Can your car fly? No? Then it isn't that much better then. EVOs are known to suck ass in terms of maintenance and fuel consumption due to the way they are tuned. MX5s run reliably for years without having to do much, even when turboed.

But eitherway, neither cars can fly. 2 Second faster to the quarter mile? So? Its no where near as fast as a jet car. And it still cann't fly.

  • @toasterder lol you sound like a moron, i never said my car could fly... and my previous evo 8 went to 100,000 miles without doing anything except changing fluids and a clutch (and the guy who posted this video ALSO upgraded his clutch). if you beat on anything it becomes unreliable. and by the way 2 seconds in the quarter mile is an insane difference between 2 cars.

  • @Fuku2hoe I never upgraded my clutch since I bought the car new.

  • @toasterder AND evos run at about 20 psi stock, that miata was only at 17

  • i'd like to see that ls2 in the miata XD

  • At 55 mph I can get 35 mpg in my Mazdaspeed mx5 & turn around & keep up with a car that has more than double the displacement.

  • stock?

  • Maybe 440 bhp with a cai and exhaust, but definitely not 440 whp.

  • I want another Miata. Miss my NB. ):

  • Go Miata GOOOOO!!!!

  • I'm calling BS- it would take more than a CAI and exhaust for the GTO to put 440 to the wheels
