had three stock 6.0's all sold at 100,000 miles four injectors one hpop one turbo and still have my personal 6.0 that i have dumped $7,500 in the last month into and is broke down right no as we speak needing head gaskets and ficm and icp sensor so thats about another $5,000.

The newer Cummins aren't bad, the problem is the truck won't hold together long enough to break the engine in. The dash falls apart and the auto tranny fails around 100k miles. The early Duramax was junk at first but right now its prolly the most reliable engine/tranny/body combo. The 6.0 Powerstroke is far and away the most towed-in diesel at the shop I work at.

Dodge uses actually heavy duty material like steel instead of aluminuim, or titanium instead of tin. Ford is shit now a days, wasn't 20 years ago. Look at some pictures of the 5.9l vs the 7.3l, you will see EASILY on what a difference they are apart. Cummins is alot better and still has 2 less cylinders and gets 8-9 mpg better fuel mileage to.

@Decepticon313 For the 6.0 Ford recommends 7500 miles for regular duty and 5000 for heavy duty use. I just do twice a year and use Shell Rotella. HAs worked well for me. No problems so far and 106,000 or so on my 2006 6.0

@dieselguy5145 Ford did own a decent percentage stock in cummins for a while about 10%. They never had a majority ownership, and did not buy it for anything but a business venture. They bought it and sold it simply to turn a profit. They sold that stock a long time ago. its probably been 10 years since ford had that stock. There were never any plans to put a cummins in a factory ford or anything like that, that was only rumors during the mid to late 90's that have survived for some reason.

@Decepticon313 For the 6.0 Ford recommends 7500 miles for regular duty and 5000 for heavy duty use. I just do twice a year and use Shell Rotella. HAs worked well for me. No problems so far and 106,000 or so on my 2006 6.0

@dieselguy5145 oops, from the back i thought i was an 00,01,02 ish. Thats a good running 6.0, my 97 7.3 runs better than my dads 6.0 although i have a few mods and his is bone stock.

@dieselguy5145 if you have too much wheel or tires that hold more grip on some surfaces than others. stock would prove a difference. im a Cummins guy and i know for a fact that joke would not just pull away like that.

@kuhndog52 yea but if you think about it the powerstroke weighs a good amount more than the cummins, i have seen this guy go up against 900hp mud trucks with 46 inch tires and hes still pulled them.

@dieselguy5145 Ford did own a decent percentage stock in cummins for a while about 10%. They never had a majority ownership, and did not buy it for anything but a business venture. They bought it and sold it simply to turn a profit. They sold that stock a long time ago. its probably been 10 years since ford had that stock. There were never any plans to put a cummins in a factory ford or anything like that, that was only rumors during the mid to late 90's that have survived for some reason.
