Give them time. There will be a super sonic 2, 3, and so forth. Sonic and Goku are the same hero, just different universes, so they are equal in power.

Given the fact that Goku is not invincible, said by the show, and Sonic is invincible, said by comics, then Sonic can't be beat, but that don't mean his power is greater than Goku's. It means Sonic can survive anything. I think Super Sonic would be able to beat every villain in DBZ, and I'm making an animation like that. Check my channel.

Actually any video game variants of the Super form are canon whereas outside the games they are not. So yes to Darkspine, Hyper, and Excalibur Sonic; no to Dark Sonic, Turbo Tails and Chaos Knuckles.
