Every once in awhile amazing videos surface here. I'm one of many AR's in Kansas City working to have these stopped here and this video will be so helpful if I may post it on facebook and possibly submit to a news publication here. They have been suspended several times on animal cruelty violations and the Health Dept. There needs to be a permanent end to this horrific cruelty.
What a beautiful song and such a sad video! I was in NYC yesterday and was going to have lunch at Sarabeth's. It's a terrific place, but, it's directly across from Central Park & I can't look at those poor creatures without wanting to let all of them go! It's clear they are so unhappy, their heads are hanging down and when they do look at you, their eyes are so sad, pleading, almost for help. Heartbreaking. Needless to say, we ate some place else. This tourist attraction needs to end.
No amount of "love and dedication," no number of laws and regulations could ever alleviate the suffering nor prevent the resulting tragedies in the horse carriage trade. I hope your song will move us closer to a compassionate, empathetic society. Brian, I really love your songs.
Brian - Very nice, as always. I trust, as truderman commented, that most stable owners truly love their horses and don't make a great deal of money, but your view also needs to be considered. - DE
As a carriage stable owner,I think you are unaware how much love and dedication goes into the welfare and maintaince of our horses. The expenses far exceed the profits, which right there shows how the owners do what they do because of the love of working with their animals, and profit isn't even a factor.
A heartbreakingly beautiful song and an incredibly sensitive insight into animals who are so often discarded, and disregarded. Who can't relate to dreams, and who is to say that humans are the only creatures with dreams? Thank you, Brian Gari, for a touching tribute with a beautiful lyric and melody that truly touched my heart. I will often revisit this page, it's lovely and heartfelt. Also, thank you for bridging our connections between animals and ourselves... we all have dreams, and value.
i cried as well... lovely animals...i cant stand what people do to them...

@truderman you might be a good person caring for your horses. But most others don't. Fact: there died many horses due to overexertion.
So it should be stopped in order to guarantee security for all horses, not just the ones being taken care of by good people like you.

This couldn't be more poignant with Prop 2 around the corner. Let's have this as an anthem to stop animal cruelty everywhere!
