  • Well, I agree with you on one thing. No two conductors ever conduct the same way, but some are better than others!

When a conductor uses one hand and turns to one side, the musicians on the opposite side cannot see the beat. Nor can they get dynamics or help with phrasing. And as for eye contact, how are they going they going to have that when he is behind a screen?

The screen is a distraction from the music. Or perhaps that was the purpose?

And no conductor has his both hands in his pockets.

  • This is a conductor's wet dream: Being highlighted over the entire orchestra. How ridiculous! This guy is the second worst conductor out there. He mugs over his shoulder with an audience and is unfamiliar with standard works. He often conducts rehearsals with one hand in his pocket. I feel sorry for the musicians.

  • @zephyrhorn I don't agree with you. He is one of the excellent conductor I worked with. No two conductors ever conduct in the same way but most importantly is cues the ensemble clearly and precisely according to the score. He did a great job conducting my work, who care about one hand in his pocket or both hands in the pocket cueing the ensemble by eye contact only?
