I have this strange problem where I can see the glass shatter when I just click A but when I render it, the glass disappears upon collision with the ball
Do you have to take a different approach for a cylinder? I followed your tutorial but with a cylinder instead, and can't seem to get the glass to shatter. Does the explosion modifier need to be on top? It told me that it wasnt on top and I said that was fine, and to go on. Should I have moved it? Or is this not working because I'm using a cylinder instead of a plane?
in the modifier settings, you have the possibility to arrange the modifier order by pressing the small icons with an up or down arrow. Your explode modifier needs to be under your particle system.
WTF? I added the explode modifier, then my glass mesh disappeared...what should I do? it appears again, when I select the Vert. Group of middle faces (you selected at the start), but you said, that I don't have to do anything with the explode modifier...no change...
EVERY time, when I change something, I must go from first frame-here was the problem
IN vid you said, I can play with settings a little more, could you tell me, how to make, that the glass will be at the plane correct spilled? Because mine shards are wrong rotated, they sink into the plane.
And, the other thing, if I divide my mesh, and set the number of particles to the correct polygon count, some of shards are flying to the opposite side than the most of shards.Any hint how to prevent this?
Like I said in the end, it is a big disadvantage of that method, that the shards go half way through the ground. Maybe I show a different technique in an upcoming tutorial.
You maybe have to much random speed when some of your shards fall into the wrong direction.
No. Not with the explode modifier. But I found out a different way to make breaking glass lately using a very stiff soft body. Maybe I'll make a tutorial about that, too. But I don't have the time for that a.t.m.
I have a question. Could I extrude the plane to make the shards thick for blowing up a wall or cement? It seems logical to me but I was just wondering if you could tell me before I jumped into it myself. The best way to find out might just be to experiment though.

I can barely understand you (no offense)

If you put tan to 1.0 in glass's particle buttons, it looks much more realistic!!

The explode modifier offers you to select a vertex group which is not affected.

Nope. Extruding did not work. Is there a way to make the shards thick?
