  • The beard freaks me out though. I had no idea he looked like that. Good for him. If I could, I would.

  • Beautiful music. We need more of this in our current time. Important, very important. We all feel this way at one point in time or many points in time. I have the dubious luxury of feeling this way every day.

  • Loved this song from the first time I heard it.

  • Soooo beautiful ,still awesome!!

  • All it seams now people can't feel the way we did back in the days of our youth, the 18 dislikes must to be some of them. This music is like renewal of the good that is almost gone in the new era of whatever they call music.. This is it!!! Thanks you for up loading this wonder!!!

  • You know, when I was young I heard these songs on the radio but there were no music videos so I never knew what my favorite artists looked like.....thank God!!!!!!

  • Is that Jesus?

  • Remember going to a dance at the Greenwood Country Club in Greenwood Mississippi in the 60's and Paul was the lead singer in a band from Meridian Mississippi. Super Talent he was!

  • nice...great music back in the day

  • It's incredable that Paul can put in Words/Music things that I've

been thinking for years, so many years now.

    RIP Paul

  • I'm Only 20 & I Like Songs Like This, Am Weird?

  • @KemKem9 no,notweird!

  • i love this song. it's been in my head all day.i can relate to this song.i seen my first love a while back and those feelings started coming back but i left and wouldn't talk to him.

  • I am so glad I grew up in the 70's and 80's! I have taught my kids the deepness, traditions, the passion for the little things and for each other of those days,]. The music, movies, the way people were. ,they are envy that they didn't get to experience it but at least they got to hear about it and have it passed on to them, their music and movie selections include 50's-80's ! The 70's and 80's were the peak of all the great decades before!

  • Voices were just better back then.

  • Man I remember this song at HS dances, we liked it since it was a chance to dance slow. Such good memories. I tell my kids to enjoy their teenage years.

  • I KNOW I DIDNOT WHO HE WAS BEFORE THIS AND THEN I HEARD BOTH SONGS AND IT WAS A "AHA" MOMENT ANDNOW CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF HIS MUSIC. MAY HE R.I.P.

  • MY FAV VIDEO AND HE DIED IN 2008. I FEEL HE WAS NOT GIVEN MORE ACCOLADES FOR HIS MUSIC. ALSO HE DID "SWEET LIFE", ANOTHER BIG HIT!

  • 18 peaple got lost thought they were in the twilight zone

  • A fine man ,i love his voice and i wish he was with us now...

  • Love this song even though it makes me want to cry uncontrollably...

  • thanks for posting this beautiful tribute

  • 18 people are crazy

  • I think Paul Davis was a genius. RIP

  • I love this song. It is an all time favorite of mine. What ever happened to all the great romantics songs of the 70's and 80's. NONE!!! of the new age artist can hold a candle to the old snuggle up with your girl and reminise love songs. May they live FOREVER!! Michael Johnson, Dan Hill, Air Supply, England Dan and John Ford Coley, Leo Sayer, Paul Davis, Bread, yes even David Soul (Don't give up on us baby).......just to name a few

  • @mollysangelique Yes, and I'd like a large Coke with that, very little ice, please.

  • Amazing how we thought we couldnt live after losing our first love.. she's been married three times now and is still gold digging.. just saying.

  • Real "Heart Breaking" words.......Sung so beautifully.

I'll never get over you David, ever.

  • omg i didn't know R.I.P Paul Davis

  • i always liked this song .it's a great song to cry over if your already heart broken

  • @curvy71

  • @Mosbysraider thats sad i know how you feel i have loved and lost myself.

  • o wow lol awsome

  • Jammin..I always LOVED YOU!!!! smiles!!!! Mabels 1990..... Love you!

  • Same age as my dad. I just love this song!

  • Fond memories of high school dances and the girl(s) I thought I would be with forever or die without, haunting and melancholy

  • 18 dislikes?? How can you dislike a song like this? No taste, no soul, no brains, no class, I would hate to hear music liked by the people who dislike this song!!!

  • @Librajazzman i agree with you !!! people must have very little soul for this song or any other like it that touches the heart !!

  • @Librajazzman PERFECTLY stated! As a child of the 70's, born in '64, I consider myself blessed: I became a young man with music like this as a backdrop to my life. It actually means more now than it did then because I can more fully appreciate it as a 47-year-old. There's good and bad music in every generation, but "The 70's" were something special overall. As a musician I hate to say it, but Rap truly tainted music, because so many with 'something to say' suddenly became 'artists'. This? MUSIC!

  • @theoriginalbillholt Ah yes... I hear you!! Born in '65 and from an era when you could actually enjoy listening to the radio, when there were actual musicians and song-writers!

  • @Librajazzman hahah YEAH!!! I bet I can name some of the shit they like!! Beyonce, Beiber, 3 Doors Down and Metallica! HAHAHAHAH

  • @Librajazzman Today's musical minds are simply lost.... just ignore those 'dislikes' and enjoy.

  • @Librajazzman thats why theres a dislike button. maybe they like the artist just not the song.. think outside the box a little

  • THIS SONG REALLY TOUCH'S A MANS SOUL-HEART. PAUL DAVIS YOU ARE TRULY REMEMBERD.

  • @jadm7777777 nicely said.

  • Dayum... this song used to give me goosebumps. still does. ty for sharing!

  • What I truly love about this music and the man who made it, Paul Davis, is that it is truly classic and timeless....just check out the comments!!!!

  • What's ironic about his passing is that he died the day after his 60th birthday. He was a great artist and his stuff helps define what the '70s were all about. Timeless!

  • I love this song,RIP.

  • Loove this Paul Davis Classic!!.

  • Brings back memories. Music with meaning and deep emotions you can sing along with.

  • I would always hear this song on the radio as a kid but never knew who sang this, great memories! RIP

  • This sounds "GRooVY" to be a live performance.

  • Beautiful song, sad but pretty...

  • Sweet I love his music so soft and mellow!

  • This is the best kind of music, todays music sucks! I am glad I grew up in the 70/80s

  • @beccaty1 That makes TWO of us! In my opinion, THIS rarity/gem is PROOF or CONFIRMATION that there IS NO MORE music in the modern era!

  • aint that the truth

  • @beccaty1 They were awesome, weren't they??? How lucky we are most of our musical memories are available on the internet, eh? =}

  • @beccaty1 Music sucks? Not in my world.

  • @beccaty1 Amen to that...No talent at all NONE!

  • @beccaty1 me too

  • Music was better back then because we were better back then. We believed in things greater than ourselves like love, and commitment, and romance. Now we believe in nothing. We do not strive for love, or commitment. We strive for nothing but self, and modern music reflects this. We worship the god we see in the mirror, and little else. I don't know about your mirror, but my mirror reflects an imperfect being that isn't worth worshipping.

  • Haunting. Like Tim Moore's Second Avenue.

  • Sweetest love song ever.

  • Great singer... love this one!

  • Awesome love song

  • Now this was the kind of music that made us FEEEEEL love. Beautiful.

  • @clairhhasdindra You sure said that right.

  • Now this is singing....no auto tuners....nothing like they have today to make their voices sound great...just old fashioned talent at its best!!!!!

  • RIP IN PAUL........ YOU HAD BEAUTIFUL MUSIC BACK IN THE 70'S. I GREW UP TO THIS MUSIC. I CAN TELL YOU NOW, THEY CERTAINLY DON'T MAKE MUSIC LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

  • If anyone that did not live in the 70's will never get the music nor the meaning of it and the times that were much less stressful and more free (not talking about sex) than they are today.

  • Purely magical.

  • I had this on a 45 and I just about wore it out :)

  • @HarmonizeTheWind 45's? AWESOME. Im glad that someone else still thinks about those time. They were great. Definately a 70's music girl.

  • I was soo in love with my husband at the time this song came out, but I was too blind and naive to understand that abuse was Wrong. Another stepped into my life at that time , I could not help myself, he loved me as I thought it should be....my husband only drank and kicked me around. Ive been trying to find Michael McElyea ever since. He made me realize that love is a beautiful thing, not filled with abuse. This was in Escondido, Ca. in late 70s.

    Debby~

  • I read some of these stories and wonder if i have ever been in love? I am so selfish and ruined all of my good relationships. Will i always be this way? I wan't what i can't have....Beth, i wish you were my wife. Oh, well...Jeff
