why can't a composer be a prodigy? gustavo is. if you listen to the sound he gets from his youth orchestras in venesuela, i have rarely heard that kind of talent anywhere. in san francisco our youth symphony has won countless awards for being the best in the us if not the world -- i don't know. dudamel's sbyo, i feel, is superior to ours, and i'm biased. dudamel maybe doesnt have a lifetime under his belt. but who cares? ny doesn't, la doesn't, isreal doesn't. as soon as mtt steps down.........

@mariorussi2010 Jajajajaja... Gustavo Dudamel estudió direccion orquestal y composicion. Se Graduó en el conservatorio de Musica Simon Bolivar de Caracas en 1995. Además Dudamel tiene un talento innato para la direccion y eso captó la atención primero de Abreu, luego de Abbado, Rattle y Barembohim. Tu crees que el tu ojo critico para la musica es mejor que el de los mentores Dudamel que te acabo de mencionar?

Those conductors have / had not only talent, artistic leadership, artistic view and technical skills, but also all the experience of a lifetime conducting... I think it's still too soon to list Dudamel there.

But when one looks at someone like Furtwaengler one must take into account that his greatness was shaped by a multitude of factors not limited to musical ability and charisma; there is depth of interpretation and understanding, as well as the irreplicable conditions and society he lived under and their profound influence on his psyche, his philosophy, and his outlook on life.

Some things Dudamel lacks now, but maybe in time he will earn his place.

No hace falta ni siquiera entrar a valorar su labor como intérprete, ya en el reportaje demuestra lo poco o nada que tiene que decir esta persona EN COMPARACIÓN con el nivel de las orquestas que están dirigiendo y de los directores que ya han pasado por ellas.
