  • I miss watching this scene for the first time. It was scary and fascinating at the same time with a nice portion of mystery to it :)

  • sobek?

  • sobek?

  • sobek?

  • sobek?

  • I was like, how did the statue break in the first place? Then I was like, Oh yeah the ship crashed into it!

  • great WTF moment :D

    best series of all time

  • When Sawyers group finds it it has longer hair and open legs instead of closed legs like in The Incident.

  • @HomoSapiens99 1. its not hair, its a tail of a crocodile. and there's only one existing statue and that statue got seperated legs. but since u see the statue this time from the side it looks like they're standing thightly to eachother.

  • @YunaQQQQQ5 Why do you write 1. in the beggininnig? what's number 2 then?

  • @HomoSapiens99 oh, excuse my mistake :P I ment that the lines that comes after "its not hair, its a tail of a crocodile". is number two :P

  • @YunaQQQQQ5 No we all make mistakes.

  • Yes the Producers and Creator of the show confirmed it to be a statue of Taweret

  • What song is that? It's not The Tangled Web.

  • @Xinomorphus the song called: Jacob's theme. I'm not sure...

  • I have to say none of them were particularly good or evil, they were just fighting for their own cause. And as for MiB's sadism, after being trapped on an island in excess of 1,000 years I think most people would have gone slightly derranged.

  • like the rocks they had when they were little MiB was always Black and vice versa for Jacob

  • ( Te;w'rt / Θουέρις) the Egyptian Goddess of birth and fertility. CHECK THIS OUT: Taweret was seen as one who protected against evil by restraining it. ( As Jacob protects against evil by restraining the Man in Black )

Originally Tawaret and Apep (evil) were a couple, but when Apep was recognized as evil she was then seen as 'chaining him'. Now, does that not fit %100 with the Lost mythology of Jacob, MIB etc?

  • Notice how usually Taweret has a full belly, like pregnancy, but the Taweret Statue doesnt? Could this be some evidence about the difficulty of giving birth on the island? Look up "Jacob And Esau", those are my theories.

  • It is a statue of Sobek, not Taweret.

  • @MacRadikal It just looks more like Sobek.

  • @MacRadikal dont know about egyptian gods and goddesses? then zip it god damnit -.-

it it Taweret clearly, Sobek got a crocodile head, and a higher hat, and he whorn a STAFF and an ANKH.

this statue wears two Ankhs and got the head of a hippopotamus.

    end of discussion -.-

  • @yunaqqqqq2 but taweret wears no clothes and has a belly and is female. this statue's torso is obviously male. it's more a composite statue.

  • @F0reseer Well on the island the statue isn't pregnant, i dont know if it has something else to do with just this island but also, Taweret is depicted as having four toes on each foot.

and true, taweret doesn't wear clothes, but the ears... the 2 ankhs and the "hat" she wears is EXACTLY the same as the statue got.

and i've been researching alittle and it's also confirmed that it's Taweret.

  • according to the Book of the Dead, Taweret guarded the paths to the mountains of the west which led to the underworld and could also use magic to help the deceased pass safely through that dangerous and frightening land...

  • but also - a protective Goddess, Taweret was thought to help women in labor and to ward off evil spirits and demons who intended harm to mother or baby. She was also thought to help with matters of female sexuality and pregnancy, and so she was often associated with the goddess Hathor.

Odd seeing as the women on the LOST island can't have babies full to term. Also the first thing I'd mentioned kinda goes with the "island is a cork to hell" idea

  • imagine if that statue whould move all over the island xD LOL

  • by egyptian goddeses such as hathor, goddess of the nile (spring may be connection), sekmet, goddess of war. But, with the tapestry focusing around the sun, and in addition, the sun pharoah/god, Aten, is probably to represent the sun. This is the 3rd of 3 post below. Do not take everything word for word, I researched egypt a little while ago, and im 13, so yeah. But Im sure about 95% of the things. Hopefully this will help. They are connections, but what do they mean?

  • Jacob was seen in the temple pouring something into the spring, Hurley saw him. When the temple was under attack and (i forget her name) led that group into a secret passage, she pushed a hieroglyphic tablet, opening the passage. The hieroglyphic she pressed was a circle with a smaller half circle on the bottom (kind of). This could mean from what I know 2 things:

The circlet worn by eygyptian goddesses, or the sun. Circles like that often represent the sun, but there have been seen beingworn>

  • when was that? I dont remember seeing that

  • Taweret is, among other things, the goddess of rebirth. Jacob "died" in the pedestal of the staue of the goddess of rebirth. The tapestry Jacob had been making inside the pedestal had greek and eygyptian references, including the hands coming from the sun, which encircled the eye of horus, a sign of protection. The hands coming from the sun were exactly like the drawings of Aten, an egyptian pharoah who abolished the old gods and proclaimed himseld the one and only god. A sun god. Continued...

  • The statue will turn around and shoot laser beams from his eyes. Either that..or Robo Aaron will emerge from the water with some badass gear

  • "Nice talking to you too mysterious stranger"

  • 'Always nice talking to you Jacob' as he looks away from him (sarcasm)?

  • and he did :D

  • GIVES ME GOOSEBUMPS :D so fuckin excited 20 houres left

  • even though everyone seems to think that if it is good vs evil, that jacob is the good and the other guy is the evil, it would not suprise me if it ends up being the exact opposite.

  • There is one light statue and one dark, Jacob lives in the dark one.

Might be the colour that fades over time but it should go from dark to light, correct me if im wrong

  • @zooomm producktion error ..noob

  • @ixgw

Do you really think they got sloppy when revealing something they have been teasing us with since season 2?

do you think LOST is such a bad show that they would let this slip through all the viewings. damn it use common sence, noob

  • @aray34 well jacob is wearing white and the other guy is wearing black... would seem to suggest that your wrong but idk maybe. what i want to know is that remember how the nemesis couldnt kill jacob directly, is that like ben and widmore?

  • wee all find out this year!!

  • I think rich alpert is jacobs brothers sun.

  • @joshmosh99 Good catch on Jacob and MIB being brothers, even if you were wrong about Richard being MIB's son! That fact somehow escaped me until my young daughter and I were watching the episode "Across The Sea", and when the pregnant lady washed up on the shore and I guessed that was Jacob's mom, she said "I bet she has twins, and it's both of them" :)

  • what i dont get is.... if mr jacob was living in that statue all along... how did somebody not wonder apon him.... the lost people seamed to have found everything elce on the island....

  • Remember the rhyme about the woman who lived in the shoe? but she had so many kids she didnt no what to do. Jacob lived in a giant shoe but it was a solitary existence so no one clocked any kids leaving the shoe to go to school or nip down the shops or whatever.

  • Many people thinks thats Isis, or people that are even stupier who thinks its Anubis.

    Its not even Seth.

    Its Taweret.

  • I believe the staue is the egypt god of motherhood (the name escapes me). Which means when it was destroyed no one could get pregnant anymore.

  • wasn't the statue destroyed when juliet delivered that baby when they were sent back in the 1970s?

  • I don't think so but I could be mistaken

  • You were damned rigght you see!! Tawaret was the name that escaped you, demoness godess of fertility and protector of childbirth

  • She is not a 'demoness'...thats a judeo christian islamic religious pejorative term for something spiritual that they don't religiously sanction or recognize in their own system.

  • Ok fine, but when I was researching ancient Egyptian culture thats how the deity Taweret was described.

Obviously, she is seen as good and not bad, as her specific role is protector of women and childbirth, representing fertility.

The text i read wasnt contemptuous (Pejorative) in any way, although maybe it was written by experts with the religious kind of ideology you speak of...i dont know.

  • Thank you for tour response.Yes,i have read/heard many of those same sources, and since this is a particular interest of mine,i've noticed a pattern of 'demonization' of certain 'deities' that were incarnations of protective, procreative or divine/human conduit communicative forces in many non judeo/christion & islamic faith, both contemporary & ancient, including but not limited to,Egyptian,Mesopotamian,sub-Saharan African & Hinduism by sources with 'experts' with a pro- 'monotheistic' slant.

  • Maybe you have some idea as to the meaning of the hieroglyphs on the walls surrounding the healing pool at the temple (LA X+what Kate Did)? Im just wondering if there is a big difference to the ones we saw at Smokeys vent underneath the temple? A lot contain a shephards crook and various birds.

  • ooooooo egyptian. typical american drama. stargate started this and it was so popular everything became egyptian that was old and mysterious. looks like anubis to me i dont watch lost so i really wouldnt know. anc is immortality symbol, seth has 5 toes tho, but apart from the jackal head there is no staff representing the nile upper and lower, so its just a meaningless statue that could from anywer that stole aspects from another culture so yeh enjoy it. anubis is a guard of underworld btw

  • Seth? They say Isis or Horus, but the mouth...

  • they are both scylla buyers actors on prison break ahahahah

  • I almost had a heart attack when I first saw that lmao

  • Jacob brings all the humans to the island to prove to the other other guy that he is wrong and those humans are good people. The other guy doesn't care about the humans and wants Jacob (the good god) dead. Jack, Sun, Kate, John Locke, Ben,... they are all pieces in the battle good vs. evil, Jacob vs. the other guy and in the end they must show to the other guy why humans deserve to live.

What do you think of this?

  • @ricanho0002 i respectfuly disAgree it was seas in lost season 1 when lock was exsplaining walt how to play the game.and he sead its a battle of Light vs Dark.meaning jacob vs his BrotheR Shanee. and threw the year jacobs brother is trying to build a army to fight jacob by comeing to lostes as dead ppl or illisuions and Riched allpert is his sun.

  • Agreed, its a cosmic game of backgammon . "one player is light, the other dark"

  • @TheHeuristicIslander that would explain the black and white stones found in Adam's pocket in Season 1

  • I think that Jacob and the other guy are both gods and they live in that island that no human can find. The other guy thinks that humans only cause destruction and that they can't love someoneelse, which means that he has lost faith in the humans and wants them dead. Jacob is the good god and he is trying to show the other guy that humans can love, humans can care about each other, and humans can make friends and be loyal. So that's why Jacob brings the other characters to the island.

  • Errrm..."no human can find the island"....well, what the bloody hell does the 'Lamppost station' do then? i think it was built to find the island...where it would be at a particular time in space and time.

  • Okay, so i watched the whole season but i never knew what that statue represented, then i searched it and got amazing results! if anyone would like them, message me

PS, i'm not trying to advertize my channel, i just want to help

ps2, i never knew that john, the one who told ben to kill jacob was actually jacob's enemy (who appers in this video) i know, im stupid, i dont get lost always!

  • Who the hell made that statue? And why egyptian style?!

  • i guess it has something to do with who jacob really is.. if hes the jacob in the bible who moved his family to egypt it might explain something. or, hes some kind of god from egyptian culture.. thats just what i think tho

  • OMG. serieslly this show is so twisted i cant belived. i like jacob i think he is the good guy

  • You clearly dont watch the show which is why you're so confused.

    Opinion invalid.

  • @vikramvaranasi FUCK YOU.MAYBE IF YOU WATCH IT FROM SEASON 1 U WILL UNDERSTAND.

  • the statue is Taweret, the egyptian fertility god

  • the statue is holding a talisman that represents eternal life...

  • Wonder why only Jacob,AJ, and Richard are the only ones who have it. Richard im guessing came from Black Rock wonder why hes special.

  • Great season finale! I got so baked when this aired. good time!

  • The bearded guy is obv the bad one, just somethin to add to next season plot and all

  • NO WAY! Jacob is the bad guy. Bearded guy is the one who will save everyone!

  • if you remember in via domes the main character eliet looks like sobek (beard guy) thats why when he saw him he did not kill him because it saw a man (mortal) that looked like him correcting wat he had done wrong for righting his wrong and this is why he didnt kill him

  • this is sooo cool!

  • the guy with the braerd is the black smoke monster its been the good guy from the begining

  • Comment removed

  • I say the guy with the beard is the bad guy and Jacob is the good guy.

  • I bet neither is good or bad, they are just opposing views. one is man of faith, the other man of science.

  • the black smoke moster wat lies in the shadow of the stachue and he chosses who he kills and who he wants he judges because he does not kill majior ppl is the shadow of the nile ,the god of aligators sobek jacob is the bad guy hes dead any wat now thar sobek controls the island nothing can stop him any way there making a movie about them so well know after awile

  • This part gives me chills!

  • Oh hell yeah! Mighty and mysterious. I was watching this on a 50 inch tv and my jaw dropped when I saw it.

  • After that scene I had to change my Depends!

  • Hmmm, I say Sobek. It just doesn't have a body like a hippo, which is how Tawaret is depicted.

  • it luks half and half to be honest

  • I agree. Tawaret was a maternal figure, and, even though the statue has Tawaret's head, the body looks more like Sobek's.

  • Maybe it is Cabaguil, a Mayan god.

  • blue2elmer thats Taweret. The Egyptian Goddess of childbirth and fertility.

  • yep. and some sources say that she was one of the wives of Seth (aka Set). Seth had a conflict with Osiris and later Horus.

If Jacob and Man in Black are Seth and either Osiris or Horus, then the island could be the Isle of Chemmis and if that is the case, then the temple is the Temple of Apollo.(yeah egyptian and greek-roman mythology sometimes mixed.)

  • Well, on second thoughts it does look more like Tawret.

  • I think the statue looks a bit like Sobek.

  • it's Taweret, the demon wife of Apep, and the Goddess of Motherhood. Her head is actually of a Hippopotamus

  • richard is a egyptian????

  • well he walks like an egyptian.

  • I was thinking that the staute was TUERIS :Deity of protection in pregnancy and childbirth.

but now, after season finale of the fifth season I 'm thinking in Sobek - was the deification of crocodiles
