...and for the record, numb nuts... it would ACTUALLY be a trapezoid, not a triangle. Look again, and notice how it is cut off and/or flat at the top. You see that shape everywhere in the game. So, now, who's the idiot that's (say it with me): NOT SMARTER THAN A 5th GRADER??

One thing that often bothered me about this show is that it was called "The 25,000 Pyramid". But the "pyramid" that the player must "climb" to the top of is NOT a pyramid at all, it is a TRIANGLE !!! Anyone who has taken basic high school geometry will tell you that a pyramid is a 3-dimensional object, but a triangle exists in only 2 dimensions. What is called a "pyramid" on this show could be measured in only 2 directions; it had no depth. Therefore it was a TRIANGLE, not a pyramid.
Hey does anyone remember the episode where one of the 25k clues was "things that are whipped". When the player didn't win Dick came out and gave extra clues like "cream" etc, but then he said "how about a disobedient slave". Then bam the contestant got it..another one of those funny t.v. moments.
Thanks. This was also shortly after the point in the shows' run when they increased the winnings limit to $50K, and began offering a $5,000 bonus for breaking the 21-21 tie.
You have a point. For the past few years until '06, GSN had kept showing episodes of the $100,000 show from 1987, and never showed any from '85, '86, or '88. Therefore, if a certain episode was shown on a certain day, it would be shown again a few days later. GSN didn't seem to show much respect for us Pyramid fans. For GSN to not show the $25,000 version anymore was a stupid mistake, and showing continuous repeats of certain episodes of the $100,000 show was equally dumb as well.
Nathan Cook's no longer with us? So sad.

Is "trouble" an illegal clue? I mean, can you actually stir it? You can stir it UP, but not stir it. Hi, I'm Bobby Buzzkill

trouble and cake batter were brilliant clues.

@trwent Well, I would say "The $25,000 Triangle" doesn't really have much of a ring to it compared to what they went with. :)

Was this Nathan's first $25,000 Pyramid appearance?
nextbarker 2 years ago
No, his first time on the $25,000 Pyramid was in the 1983-1984 season on January 30, 1984, and this is from the week of November 5th-9th.

My favorite part of the show was always the the flute-and-xylophone combination playing BOOP-BOOP-BOOP. Peace.

Did this win ever appear in one of the November 1987-June 1988 opening intros vnisanian or gameshowluvr86?
Ivoryface86 2 years ago
He died in 1988 from an allergic reaction to penicilin.

I didn't know Nathan Cook had passed away. How did he die?

Was that Nathan's first appearance on $25,000 Pyramid?

The 21-21 tie bonus started earlier in 1984, with the prize being a car.

Awesome, this is like everything GSN wouldn't show! Still kinda sucked that they ran The $100,000 Pyramid into the ground, though.

BTW, Josh, doesn't the female contestant kinda resemble Mary Cadorette, but with a different hair color? :)

I'd say she looks like Pat Klous from The Love Boat with brown hair.
