hey guys is there a reason why x-plane 9 "slows down" in some areas? like ill be flying and the game pace will be moving extremely slow and then all of the sudden it will move extremely fast. is there a reason for this? i have number of objects set to mega tons and roads set to none. everything else is set to default. running at 4x AA and 1920-1080 res.

Most likely means you have your settings too high. Try reducing the "world detail radius" a little bit. Your computer is drawing the scenery, which causes the machine to slow down. I also check the box to limit the framerate to the monitor specs. A consistent framerate is much more important than trying to search for high numbers. With FPS fluctuations you get uneven loading of graphics which will also slow down your computer

30-40 FPS is more than sufficient. Human eye can't detect much over 30

All lights and reflexes are more realistic than FSX ... I think I'll download XPlane9 to try here. but i'll net to buy a new harddisk first.

No, this was filmed only hours after I installed x-plane. It's not about how high you can move the sliders. It's all about Balance. If you move everything all the way up, things can tend to look unnatural.

They both have their advantages. Just wanted to try something new. X-Plane is written very well and you don't have to chase Computer hardware to get it to perform well like with FSX. X-Plane with all settings maxed out performs at 40+ FPS with Fraps running. No Computer can do that in FSX right now.

Don't bother telling me that your Computer can do it in FSX, especially when you fly in areas like Seattle, Frankfurt, New York, etc. However, the accuracy of FSX Sceneries is better.
