The reason Sammy did what he did is because Gotti betrayed his trust first. If he didn't , he damn well knew he was going to. What ultimately confirmed his suspicions were the tapes that were played back, but also the way Gotti was treating him towards the end. He was either ready to hand him over or have him whacked. @moliekilla If I am not wrong by that expression is meant the bribing ("fixing") of a jury member in one of the trials where Gotti was accused (probabaly that trial depicted in the movie where Gotti came back to Little Italy as a hero). It was this member`s vote that spoiled the jury`s possible decision "guilty".
An agent of FBI claims that the bribed jury meber was later convicted for that.

Regarding my use of the word 'deranged': it doesn't, as you suggest, 'amuse' me, and I'm not using the word to try and insult for the sake of insulting - I genuinely think it's a suitable word to describe a theory such as yours which is so remarkably out of touch with reality.

@XIPM3 As I've said, I'm aware of the fact that there are corrupt police officers. However, to generalise them as you have is quite astonishing - don't you think good honest cops exist? If not, how do crimes get solved?! And don't you think that through the drug trade, and human trafficking and the like, that the Mafia DOES destroy lives? Of course they do.
It's an argument you're never going to win, so please - PLEASE - give it a rest!!
