@Jardbig This was a decision of the drivers and team owners to end the race. The track itself was damaged by this wreck. They would have needed at least 3-4 hours to repair the catch fence, SAFER barrier, and the track. That would be too long for these drivers,who lost a friend. If this were an Italian race, they would not have had this tribute to Dan., the race would have been canceled on the spot.

Race until you think your heart is going to give out, then race some more. Dan lost his life doing the thing that he loved... racing.
