  • batman is an expert i al martial arts... they need a better batman, a better bruce wayne, an actor more.. capable

  • A little fight in you, i like that.. denwohlovwme

  • Great Movie. I Just Feel It Should Have Had More Direct Encounter Scenes Between The Joker and Batman.

  • Meh..

Batman appearing in the middle of a bright room without anyone notice it, him having a pretty hard time fighting over three men and let's not forget the fall of a kinda high building on a car without any damage at all (leaving the rest of the guests at the mercy of the Joker and his minions)

So these Batman movies are supposed to be more realistic than the Burton ones ?

    I... don't really buy it =/

  • @Dkad He was taught by Raz Al Goul to appear out of nowhere, he was fighting the joker....., and the fall was kinda cheap but he did have a little drag with half of the cape. It's not entirely unbelievable.

  • The movie batsuits are garbage. the actors can barely move in them. Why doesnt Batman fight more like Nightowl in watchmen?

  • @joshuastark86 your live is a garbage.

  • @joshuastark86 With slow mo and wires instead of... acting?

  • Batman's suit is so badass, and you know... my birthday is coming up soon...

  • @Darkstarfoxx i have the batman suit

  • @Darkstarfoxx the batsuit is amazing

  • those 27 seconds were badass, I love that fight!

  • @unnamedushan lol Now go watch one of the old movies that came out in the 90s like Batman Forever. (Shit!) lol

  • I still don't quite get how they survived the fall... of course there are a lot of things that didn't make sense in that fight scene (don't get me wrong I still enjoyed it).

  • @TheAle89515 I expected him to use his grapple gun but I guess his cape got enough friction and his armor protected him

  • @ngolimit2 i guess this scene wasn't cool at all, because the camera didn't shake at all.

  • @afgmuscl3 Bats did some Kick attacks in Begins.

  • The punch at 0.29 sec looked so fake.

Christopher Nolan's Batmans have good story but really bad fight scenes!!!

Camera shakes too much as well.

  • @o0YumRamen0o I agree! I hope it improves in TDKR!

  • @afgmuscl3 I agree

  • @afgmuscl3

the thing is they're trying to show that batman is so badass that he dooesn't need to use acrobatics in fighting.

but i agree even i wanna see some ninja style flipping from bats :)

  • @anirudhkrishnamani like Bruce Lee

  • @cidcash

    EXACTLY!!

  • @anirudhkrishnamani Bruce Lee vs Batman???

  • @cidcash

don't wanna answer that question :P

  • @anirudhkrishnamani yh its a toughy

  • falling from that height and speed onto a car and still be breathing aint realistic in my book. and why there be no grappling hook at the end?! the real batman would've used a grappling gun.

  • @afgmuscl3 I agree. Though calling it pathetic is a bit over the top.

Btw, check out his fighting style. It's called "Key Si".

  • @afgmuscl3 honestly I agree. It wouldve been cooler if Bale did something he did in Equillibrium lmao

  • haha this fight choreography is laughable. watch it from 0.7 to 0.10, so bad.

  • what happend to all there guns????

  • Realistic? Come on, he just beat up like 4 guys, some of which have guns...

  • @martiallaw09 You know, it may be a movie, but i think if i`d been intensely trained in ninjutsu by deadly monks and spent over a year fighting in the streets of a dangerous city with that knowledge and an obsessive drive to keep a promise to my murdered folks...i`d clean up 3 no talent, mental case thugs too

  • I've seen better fights, he moves too slow and robotic, it gets boring after a few scenes. All in all i expected better for batman

  • The Fighting style is call Keysi Fighting Method. Its a hybrid style that incorporates Street brawling and jeet kune do.

  • KC fighting method.

  • A very intense fighting scene. At the 0:24 mark I can never tell whether the Joker stabs Batman in the side with the shoe knife or the guy behind him.

  • @blackman26 he gets batman

  • I must admit, I'm impressed by that particular thug. Lands a decent punch on Batman, and holds him in place for a handful of seconds...all while keeping relatively cool. Considering Batman's abilities, not easy to do.

  • its called KEYSI guys. and it was created specifically for Chris Nolan's Batman :D

  • i noe his fight style looks real but man it doesnt look awsome its jus brawling and he moves hella slow he needs to fight more like in the cartoon

  • impressive cqc batman

  • hahah very pooor choice of words

  • Solid snake would wanna train whit him :|

  • 0:18, cool KO punch!!

  • he uses keysi

  • I think that batman uses ninjutsu but i´m not sure

  • @micheckcheck Yeap, he uses Ninjitsu.

  • @TurquoiseTheoryProds nope! he uses Keysi!

  • @Konoahsenki lol what's that?

  • @TurquoiseTheoryProds The Keysi Fighting Method is an awesome Street Fighting style created by Justo Dieguez and Andy Norman. I really love it. I just took the orange belt. Batman use it in the first movie "Begins" too. Look some videos on youtube,it is great!! I practiced a lot of martial arts in my life but Keysi's the BEST!! :)

  • so, is not ninjutusu. Is a self-defence or a offensive style?

  • @micheckcheck Both. For someone who wants to learn the self-defence is VERY useful, but the Keysi itself is a TOTAL aggressive style. There are no blocks or catches, you block for attack, you catch for attack and you even move for attack! It's hard to explain everything, if you want I can give you the official website 'cause there are a lot of things to say :) the site is Keysikfm.com

  • very poor choice of words!...hahaha

  • I love batman's fighting style. So direct and powerful.

  • @slamer2000 It does kick ass. But as kick ass as it is, I was slightly, only slightly, disappointed in this fight scene because I kept thinking about Batman Begins, and how he trained to engage an entire group of men (even Ra's ninjas) yet he struggled a bit too much with the Joker's clowns, which I doubt have any training. But, it is a film and the protagonist must face convincing obstacles.

  • @UnbornChild. Your right. But I think the directors or choreographers were trying to make this a realistic fight, batman is a highly trained combatant but he isn't superhuman in scientific terms. I think they were making sure that this fight wouldn't be one of those lame fights were the kung fu good guy is surrounded by ten bad guys and they all attack him ONE BY ONE and he doesn't get touched at all.

  • @slamer2000 I agree, but with Batman's journey and training, I think he would've taken on the Joker's goons a bit easier. They seem to be just big buys with guns to me, and they scare people with their masks and guns, not their fighting skill. One of them only managed to get in a punch at Bats while another held him back, something any teen or mugger out on the streets do. But like I said, if Bats took them out as easy as he should have, they wouldn't have been much of an obstacle & he needs it

  • @slamer2000 Of course! It's the Keysi Fighting Method!! :)

  • @slamer2000 It is called KFM Keysi Fighting Method

  • @slamer2000 yer its called the keysi fight system, a hybrid martial art.

  • @slamer2000

its based on this martial art called keysi fighting method even though the movie says its ninjutsu :)

  • @slamer2000

That would be the famous Keysi Fighting Method. I feel sorry for anyone who gets in a fight with a dude who has the slightest hint of what he was doing with a backround in Keysi.

  • @slamer2000 Yes, it is KFM martial art.

  • @slamer2000 Its called kaysi if you dont know..

  • @slamer2000 it's keysi fighting method

  • @slamer2000 its called keysi

  • @slamer2000 - I hate this. This is the worst camera I ever seen. We can't see anything.

  • @Bunchpoland Its the vids quality, the actual film looks spectacular.

  • i love the way the industrial style beats kick in after batman first punches joker. then he hammer strikes the guys gun away and strikes him through the face. it all flows so perfectly.

  • that makes no sense. like literally, what are you talking about?

  • like literally......

  • tch... good answer.

  • batman shoulda been a boxer lol 0:07

  • batman in the Dark Knight movie always reminded me of Snake from Metal Gear Solid

mainly because of his CQC (close quarter combat) and his sneaking ability ...

  • I like how the joker runs away, grabs one of his goons and then like shots him at batman 0.17 LOL and then he resorts to the shoe blade i love the jokers fighting skills! 0.23

    Fang25

  • Does anyone know the theme that begins to play at 0:06-0:34? Can't seem to find it on the regular soundtrack. Thanks :)

  • @phatkidsaxplaya

its on the collector's edition soundtrack, which includes everything else in the movie, its called 'you're gonna love me' =)

  • I love the way he fights.

No gratuitous flips and kicks, just skill and strength.

  • this scene was awesome in theaters, every bone cracking, arm breaking sound could be heard!

i just realized at 0:51- rachael's stunt double

  • The action was great but the choreography of Batman's martial arts was lacking, all he did was use his arms (ofcourse he had sharp blades on them). What happened to the flying kicks and stuff though? Felt like I was watching a handicapped batman fight.

  • It's not really about martial arts. The lack of absurd kung-fu moves is probably deliberate, as it fits in with the "realistic" element. Kicks are practically useless in fights; Nolan's Batman disables enemies using precision strikes, hardened plates and massive physical strength.

It's still unrealistic (he seems to invariably be able to knock out one guy per punch), but at least this way it has some semblance of truth to it.

  • Youre right about the precision strikes and the gauntlets he wears, but at :23 he clearly could've kicked the Joker using the weight of the enemy holding him, then he wouldn't have been hit. I still like the new fighting style they gave Batman though.

  • Exactly.. I just love the fighting scenes in this movie because they are so realistic..

and batman's fighting style is really similar to CQC which is a real fighting style used in the military.

its not like kung fu movies where people do jump kicks and somersault kicks

    but real fighting..

  • Not even close dude. CQC of the military is pretty different, most of those military techniques involes the use of weapons and almost only throws.

The fighting style used in the chareography of batman begins and dark knight is called "Keysi fighting method", which is a self defense system based on and natural movements (that's why it looks very real in the movies). The primary tehniques of this system are hammerfists, elbows and headbutts.

  • @salamirterra yeah but there still could have been better fight seen like watch which was pretty realistic and batman is suppose to have amazing fighting skill not necessarily just fancy

  • batman is too stiff when he fights. maybe its the costume

  • Sure the movie is good but these hand to hand fights are nothing to write home about. Both the cinematography and coreography suck.

  • The fight scenes are awesome. I like how they retain reality and aren't overly long or drawn out. It's the way Batman articulates his flow with his fighting that makes it so damn good.

  • Yeah, it's chaos in the ring when batman fights. Batman vs.10 villains...It's gonna get messy, and people can't expect it to be a bruce lee movie. it's Batman for crying put loud. That's how he fights 10 villains.

  • @123DTRAY123 no its not batman is suppose to be better then bruce lee in the comics they made a reference

  • can anyone tell me how batman strikes the guy at 0:18? its kinda hard to tell.

  • left hook to the face

  • "oh a little fight in you i like that".

    "Then you're gonna love me"

    batman kicks ass

  • that was my favorite line in the movie

  • still dont get why they all didnt just shoot him

  • I love how the action scenes in this film have so much testosterone and energy flowing in them. Seriously when I was in the cinema watching this my heart was pounding out of my chest. Pure god-damn entertainment.

  • Exactly! I completely agree! The action scenes were just awesome; completely full of kick ass energy. You FELT it!

  • This fight shows exactly why Batman is my favorite superhero and why Joker is the best villain. When it comes down to no holds physical confrontation then Bats wins, no contest. The Joker however immediately uses the closest resource to make himself "untouchable". They are both so freaking badass. Oh yeah, and they both have equally awesome one-liners!

  • Awesome fight scene! Awesome movie! Christian Bale is the ultimate Batman Bad Ass!!!!

  • and yet, twilight won best fight scene and four other awards from mtv's movie awards, which makes no sense. how in hell did THIS fight scene lose to twilight's "fight scene"?

  • I'm a big Twilight fan but I completely agree. I was really pissed off when it beat TDK in that category. This fight is so much better!

  • @PsycoCutman Because it was MTV..

  • one of the best scraps in a movie :)

  • Damn Batty's hammer strikes are fuckin deadly look at the damage he does w/ em!

  • fuck yeah! his keysi moves are awsome and fluid in this scene. i also love the change to the fight music after he first hits joker!

  • - "A little fight in you, I like that...."

    - "Then you're gonna love me!"

    - How can anyone not love this fucin movie

    - This movie is Godly

  • batman is the best superheroe ever, even without superpowers. joker is of course the best supervillain ever. i love me some marvel but i'am dc boy

  • yeah. that was dead funny

  • fucking awesome scene. Then you're gonna love me, then he one punches the joker. Bale and Heath had some serious chemistry.

  • I love it when he dives after Rachel!

That's my favorite kind of rescues - saving somone from a long fall! :D

  • this is the best movie in all the holliwood history!!

  • spiderman would have sued someone hahahaha.....grapple gun not a web

  • 'very poor choice of words'

    lol

  • shut the fuck up

    go watch batman and robin

    or something

  • i totally agree with you. but its a 1% improverment to batman begins as you couldnt see anything. even batman and robin had better fights lol!

  • Bad fall in this scene...I've never understood why batman not used step the bat grapnel !....

They crash into a car; man they should have died !

  • he doesnt have any powers though

  • this fight (as well as the final showdown)should have been longer, but the knife in the shoe was totally awesome

  • You guys wanna know why he didn't use his grapple gun?

Because Spider-man would have sued someone.

  • impossible to catch up to a person like that to catch them

    EXCEPT for in the movies

DO not try this at home kids

    lol

  • this is my favorite scene in the movie. I love when the Joker pulls the knife out of his shoe

  • fight scene should have been alot longer -.-

  • "Just let her go!"

    "very poor choice of words...whahaha!"

  • i cant believe rachel died

  • omg i love the bit where Bruce says 'then you're guna love me' argghhhh i cant get enough of it, when i first saw the advertisements i was like 'omg its guna be soo crap' but i watched it yesterday omg it is soooo cool im guna get the DVD soon then i can watch it again and again lmao love it....to be fair there are some pretty good actors to play the joker and batman, i love how christian's face is soo cool lmao

  • very poor choice of words

  • Dvd is tomorrow I wish there was Audio commentary on it!! I hope there are interviews with Ledger on the set WE NEED more insight on the creation of the Joker in this film

  • Batman should use Krav Maga next time.

    In my opinion

  • heath ledger reminds me of the crow from 1994.

  • They look similar yes

  • AWESOME DVD TOMORROW!!

  • "THEN YOU GONNA LOVE ME!"

    Truly Badass!!

  • Fuck. I just can´t get enough. I can´t stop watching this over and over again. Holy crap, this fight seems even cooler on dvd.

  • The opening lines make me orgasm every time.

  • The only thing I hated more about martyrofevils's was that I couldn't rate it bad as much as I wanted to.

  • Is this from the IMAX version? I remember the fight being shot closer in the normal theatre.

  • Wow this is almost on Dvd!

  • he didnt go after the joker cause if he had to go after him and catch him then it wouldnt lead up to that big scene with the transport truck and shit

  • soon as batman went out through the window the joker said " fuck this dont know where harvery is lets split the scene before the cops come " ahahahaha, besides bruce and rachel were the only ones who knew dent was locked in the closet

  • yeah of course but it still doesent explain why batman would just allow the joker to get away

  • no, the joker knew batman was all the way down there so he should had some time to look the place over and c that it was kinda of obvious that dent was in there cuz the broom or w/e was there

  • can i ask, i love this movie, i got a joker tattoo...but why does this move to the next scene afte the fall, sureley batman would have went back up their to catch the joker?

  • My interpretation is that the Joker flees by the rooftops.

  • also in the novelisation i'd like to add here, in the book version of the film, jokers foot blade actually pierces thru batmans armour thus stabbing him! not a fatal wound but bad enough, also wen he saves rachel he also sprains his rist! plus at the end wen harvey shoots him, hes actually shot and when he falls 2 stories like harvey did he dis-orientates him! but the version is better u cant limit batman like that there is no time the suit is his only power of physical superority

  • also this isn't a plot point of anything but the fight cheography although neatly done for batman, it does take him to long to beat up and subdue 1 person! he like punches them in the head and in the back and probably in the chest before hes done with them! even someone like him who possess KFM fighting skills shoud'nt take that long to knock out his enemies! jason bourne is even more efficient man and hes not even wearing body armour! im just saying!

  • has anyone noticed???? the script is very clever alhtough it is unlikely he would have survived that fall with rachel even wearing body armour as versatile as his. if he had been wearing his original suit then he would of certainly killed that dude in the guy by crushing him. when he falls on top of scarecrows van he generates a huge crush! lukily when he saves rachel his suit is ligther in mobility and the memory cape slowed their fall just in the nick of time.

  • Anyway, i was wondering why didn't Batman use his grappling hook after catching hold of Rachel so that they won't plunge all the way down...

  • Its because she was

    SLIDING ON ROOFTOPS!

  • Zing!

  • whats the memory cape??? could you tell me?

  • in Batman Begins, Fox explains that the cape is made of Memory Fabric. Batmans gloves send an electric current through it when he touches it and the fabric goes rigid which is how he glides.

  • The cape gliding is cool, but i miss the grapling hook lol.

  • its memory cloth, thats what his cape is made of

  • I like the punching sounds!!

  • He DID open his cape and the car broke their fall anyway.

  • batman has body armor...from what i could tell he partially opened his cape to slow their fall, and then made sure that he took the brunt of it...

  • GOOD fight scene though, I mean I agree it looks like they would have died becuz he never opened his cape

  • dis scene doesen't make much sense .... y didn't batman use his ropegun 2 save rachel n den , joker cudn't have run !

    stupid heroe

  • True Batman should have used his grappler...I mean how did they survive that fall?

  • Batman and rachel should have died from that impact. You can wear what body armor all you want. You can land first with the woman on top. Wouldn't matter. No bruises, moans from pain or broken bones?!?!? Sure..

I could wear that batman suit and jump off a building with a woman without opening my cape. Do you really think we'd both walk away without a limp or injuries??

Yes i know it's only a movie but it's unrealistic. I can't buy that at all. Great movie though.

  • Great scene!

"A little fight in ya. I like that!"

    "THEN YOU GONNA LOVE ME!"

  • "Very poor choice of words"

    LOL

  • How did they survive that fall?? He didn't glide down
