  • This may be an obvious question but does Power 90 build muscle. Yes, I know any workout you do helps build muscle with the proper diet but i want to know which one is heavily concentrated on helping you build more muscle. Is it both or one or the other?

  • @CaptZor Yes, Power 90 is a balanced approach to muscle building and cardio conditioning for people who need to lose a lot of weight, those who haven't worked out in years, etc. I built plenty of muscle and it helped prepare me for P90x.

  • Hey Khalil, ... congrats on the amazing progress.

I see it was mentioned twice but I think the P90X Fitness Test deserves more emphasis in this discussion. For those who aren't aware, along with the P90X course comes a fitness test which determines whether or not you should 1st start with at least 1 round of P90. It involves things like how many pushups and pullups you can do. ie. If less than 10 pushups are challenging you'll most likely benefit more by first getting into basic shape with P90.

  • Great input on selecting what's right for each, me personally I'll def be starting with the lean since I have gotten way off track on my workouts (like since may)....lean here I come

  • I did not pass the fit test on p90x, so i will try starting with Power90. Thank you for the information man, very useful.

  • Thankyou very much

  • I want to lose 40lbs more and I am in love with turbo jam I was trying to decide if I should do turbofire next then chalene extreme or chalene extreme then turbo fire? I will be taking the p90x challenge starting in March of 2011 as a birthday gift to myslef becaue I am determined to have amazing abs and wear a bikini just because I can lol..

  • Hi Khalil, thx for your informative and unpretentious, useful videos. this one's really useful. just ordering P90 with my wife, going to go through (hell) it together; we'll be watching your p90x before we move on to that if we're happy with p90.

oh, great singing voice (from one IT guy who sings, plays etc to another)

  • It seemed to me that you really had to be committed to power 90. With only basically 2 workouts, it's easy to get bored.

  • p90x is AMAZING!!! i am not (was not) a very athletic person and im very skinny. i signed up for football so i was desparate to get in shape/bulk up (im fifteen) p90x is a miracle and my mom (40) also does p90x with me and she is super skinny and athletic thanks to p90x. so it works for every thing like wiehght loss bulky muscle an everything in between!

  • thanks for the insight, i just got p90x but after watching the first video i know im not ready for it so i think im going to start with power 90

  • I just ordered my p90x today and I didnt order p90 at all. Im an athletic big guy who wants to lose weight and get ripped. Should I have done p90 beofre p90x. I see alot of people saying how hard p90x is.

  • @Revolutionary36 just do p90x then do it again ahaha. or do p90x+

  • Ii am down to 183 from 202 with two weeks to go in Power 90. I'd like to get to a trim 175 before doing P90x. There are two free workouts from the Power 90 Master Series on the P90x "how to bring it" DVD. Check them out - the Cardio Intervals workout is great. Last night I started the Master Series to finish out the Power 90 schedule. Did Sculpt 5-6 and tonight is Sweat 5-6. Sculpt was awesome.

  • I agree I am 17 days into the P90 program and I have lost weight, inches, and most important I feel ALOT better.depending on where I am at 90 days I could do another round or step up to P90X.Its a change of lifestyle so you have to commit to DIET and EXERCISE and it will work for you. I am 5'10" and was 230lbs now about 220lbs and it is melting off.PUSH PLAY

  • @pogiguy05 Great results! I keep telling people that almost ANY exercise program with a good solid foundation will work, not just P90x or Power 90. It's just that these programs take you step by step and have a great support system in place to help you. I looked for weeks at other products, tried doing my own exercise plan, etc., before I found Beachbody last April. They have something for everybody. Like you said, It comes down to whether people commit themselves or not.

  • More people should do Power 90 before P90x. It gives you a much better head start. I am just trying to decide if I should do the Power 90 Master Series now that I've completed Power 90 before P90x

  • @cypresscollectibles I agree, it does give you a head start on P90x. They even suggest it in the P90x manual if you can't pass the fit test.. I had considered doing the Power 90 Master Series, but didn't investigate it that much since I had already decided on P90x after Power 90. I do think I could've done Power 90 again, still gotten great results, and then moved on to P90x. How much more weight do you have to lose?

  • He's alive!!!!

  • Ya know it!

  • For the most part beach body has alot of awesome products, I jus stick with P90X because I kno it works, 4th round baby, lol. Looking good baby boy. U still wking ur program?

  • Doing what I can. I'm extending phase 2 by two weeks.because of a medical issue that forced me to stop working out for a whole week. I also just moved to a new apartment, etc., so anyway...I'll explain in another video. Been doing some substituting with other outdoor activities as well.

  • That's all u can do, but it's good to see ur back.

  • I thought Power 90 was the step before P90X and then P90X plus.

  • It is. First there was Power 90, then Power 90 Master Series, then P90x and P90x+. P90x stands for "Power 90 Extreme". That's all I was saying.
