Dave is a genuinely cool dude. After a show, one of my guitar students went behind the place they played at in Chicago and met him. This was during the So far So good So what tour. He said Dave invited him in their tour bus to hang out for a while, which he did of course. He got to meet all the guys in the band. He said Dave was down to Earth and treated him more like a friend than just a fan.
The best thing that could happen to Dave and Hetfield would be that they both started shooting heroine again. Maybe we'd hear some good songs again, huh?
Just read his book. In less than 24 hours. Couldn't put it down. But 'hard' drugs, Dave? I wasn't in your shoes, so I guess I wouldn't know. I respect you now more than I did, and I liked you from the beginning.

This book is pure inspiration, from being broke, young as hell, and on his own, to just trying to get KIMB done and recorded, and just trying to keep his band alive , and the struggle with drugs and alcohol and his inner emotions of Metallica and inferioity......Everybody has it hard sometimes.......sometimes really hard......Long live Dave Mustaine.
I gotta say anyone without this book is missing out. The first day I actually started reading it I read 104pgs with no breaks it's just so catchy still havnt finished it cause I have school and shit and waiting for that time to pick it up again

Megadeth is always going to be my favorite band. I hope my band will be heard some day and my playing can live up to Dave's example.

I found a bookstore in my country that has 2 books of dave mustaine: A Heavy Metal Memoir and, A Life In Metal. the second one has more pages so I was planning to go buy that one, but is there any difference between the two books?
Dave Mustaine is very inspiring to me. Not only has he inspired me to pick my guitar back up after almost 7yrs of not even looking at it. He's also inspired me to look outside of my own world and think about what is happening around me (politically). If I was to meet him, I think all I would be able to say is "Thank You!" and shake his hand. I've got to get a copy of his book.

I attended the Toronto book signing with my father and brother, and talking to Dave for 30 seconds was the best 30 seconds of our lives. I finished the book within two weeks, it was an absolute masterpiece.
There was a girl and a guy right in front of us line, and the girl asked Dave for a hug, and she got it.
Then we saw Megadeth, Slayer and Testament the following day, and that was the best show of my life.

I love Mustaine, and Megadeth have been my favourite band for a couple years now. However, it seems that a decent chunk of the book is about his journey in "finding God", which is the only thing swaying me from buying it.
@assassin186 It is his autobiography, his path to Salvation, a bumpy path, I read some shit I never knew bout him its full of more insight than video documentaries or interviews.

I attended the Toronto book signing with my father and brother, and talking to Dave for 30 seconds was the best 30 seconds of our lives. I finished the book within two weeks, it was an absolute masterpiece.
There was a girl and a guy right in front of us line, and the girl asked Dave for a hug, and she got it.
Then we saw Megadeth, Slayer and Testament the following day, and that was the best show of my life.

I love Mustaine, and Megadeth have been my favourite band for a couple years now. However, it seems that a decent chunk of the book is about his journey in "finding God", which is the only thing swaying me from buying it.

@assassin186 It is his autobiography, his path to Salvation, a bumpy path, I read some shit I never knew bout him its full of more insight than video documentaries or interviews.

@assassin186 To me God is what keeps me in balance, what gives me just a pre-set choice of living but I am not heavily in it, I realize how many are brainwashed, and ignorant they will judge a person more than anyone else other people won't care but they do pointing out, "There bad, there gonna burn in hell blah blah."
