  • Coconuts. Therefore, god.

  • "Yes Coconuts are part of the divine purpose...I am sure," he said sarcastically, mostly to be a dick.

  • I love the God comment.

  • i've been known to open a few young thai coconuts in my time... (in case you didn't realise, i'm talking about banging young thai women)

  • This is the most useful YouTube video! I just opened a cocanut with a cheap, flimsy knife from Target following this method!!! The process did not go as smoothly as shown here: I had to cut the shell open in a circle but eventually the shell yielded and I opened it with my hands. Pretty remarkable, I thought I had to use a machete!

Why torture hens for their eggs when we have cocanuts?

  • I just drank water from a fresh coconut and didn't think I'd like it much, but wow it's amazing. The difference between it and the coconut water sold in containers is night and day

  • i use my head to knock open the coconut,

  • My patent invention does away with dangerous knives. It is quick, safe, hand operated, all stainless, hygienic and no spill. Suits home, Juice Bars, Cafe', Restaurants, Cocktail Bars etc.

  • Oh hey! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (do a search on google)? Ive heard some unbelivable things about it and my cousin lost a lot of weight with it.

  • This was my grand opening as coconut opener. Boy i could grow to love this

Tastes GREAT My skill level is so bad i worried about removing a digit though. I found it helpful after cracking it for the first time to pour out the liquid in a bowl to get the rest of the cap off

One more thing It needs a big hefty knife!!

  • oh,I tried eating the white part...oops.

  • WOW when he took the first cut or slice, i was like O SHYT HE JUST WENT THRU THE SHELL!! and then i was like, o haha it was just the outside :3

  • It's hard to open it.

I bought coconuts from the store and they looked like yours and it's so damn hard to open them even with a big sharp knife.

  • Mmmmm, That looks DELICIOUS!!!!!

  • Thank you...I was going crazy trying to open it...perfect instruction.

  • My wife does not trust me with sharp objects.

  • i looooove young coconut water!! its ambrosia. i never knew coconut could taste so good until i tried young coconut. i will never ever eat any yuky brown dryed out coconut again. young coconuts are so very worth 3 dollars!!

  • Just opened my first young coconut like this. Surprisingly easy, took less than a minute. And the water tastes great!

  • Get you Asian wife lushfmlk.info

  • mmmmm i love drinking fresh young coconut juice AND i love eating the white soft flesh afterwards... it clenches your thirst on hot summer days :)

  • I can allmost smell the coconut water, while im watching this.

  • I could sense the instructors nervousness while your were cutting it, just the way you were handling the knife

  • When the coconut is very young the meat will be a clear gel. As it gets older the coconut water will transform the meat into a white hard fibrous flesh that you are familiar with.

Regarding the fat content, the cholesterol changes as the flesh changes. The clear gel, I have read, contains beneficial fats. The harder the meat becomes, the higher the levels of saturated fat it will contain.

There has been some controversy regarding the healthfulness of mature white coconut meat.

  • Thank you. This video is very helpful. I bought a young coconut and when I wanted to drink it, I had no idea how to open it without the big "butcher" type knives.. this technique was really easy..Thanks again..=)

  • Thank you for promoting coconut...Great stuff

  • thanx this work.,though i did have to open the top with a large spoon, yet it was soooo easy and fresh coconut milk/water is so much more vanilla/sweeter than the ones you buy... i will only get young cocounts when i want coconut milk/water from now on.

  • This is the most helpful video in regards to opening a young coconut that I've seen, because it shows how a 'pro' does it and how a newbie can still do it with relative ease. I'm going to be trying this myself tonight as I'm making a raw butter-nut and coconut soup for an entrée. Thanks for giving me the confidence to attempt this :)

  • That was a great demo thanks!!

  • Omg hit it! don't be afraid!

  • @Ceraphinas i was afraid, i didn't hit it that hard and it still works lol...

  • @Flutter13ee lol yea...it's fun though!

  • Is it best to store them in the fridge or the counter top? And how long should they last before you have to use them? Does freezing the water and meat take away from the benefits?

  • Finally an easy way to open this wonderful coconut without butchering it. Thank you oodles!

  • i just drill a hole and put a straw in

  • You open coconuts like a girl. /kidding

  • Hey can anyone tell me where to get these?? I can't seem to find any. .

  • AWESOME! I am going to buy some coconuts and came here to see how to open them first lol. Now I know I will be buying them all the time. If that skinny lil gal can do it I can do it. Thanks for the great video!

  • can I just drink this water and then threw the rest away?

  • Thank you for posting, very helpful, not to mention cool!

  • If that is true, then I have been steared in the wrong direction most all my life.

I the 70's I was told not to drink the milk nor eat the meat of coconuts as their full of cholesterol.

This kinds of makes me mad as I love coconut mulk.

I'm so thinkful for the internet it has opened my eyes to a new world I didn't know.

    Thanks for your reply!

  • I think you're getting the cholesterol confused with the high amounts of saturated fat. Coconuts contain high amounts of saturated fat, which can elevate cholesterol levels, which could be bad for you if you're trying to lower your HDL or LDL.

  • I thought coconut milk was high in cholesterol???

  • No cholesterol in coconut water or coconut milk. Only in animal products.

  • @SuperchargeMe Coconut is the only non animal food that has cholesterol-it is all good cholesterol

  • @SuperchargeMe Coconut is the only non animal food that has cholesterol-it is all good cholesterol. Coconuts have some sort of divine purpose-I am totally on board!

  • @icicicles coconut fat (oil) in coconut meat (not the water) is high in a certain saturated fat. certain other saturated fats are linked to higher blood cholesterol and some bad things. but study into what coconut fat does to the human body is very limited. all the saturated fat studies were done with animal products.

  • @icicicles Plus, coconut water is very identical to our own blood-plasma and very high in electrolytes... Drink this after your workout instead of those ridiculous sugary drinks and feel the difference...

  • @icicicles its anti cholesterol :d

  • when i cut my cocnut open, the meat was clear ans slimy and it tasted very odd..

it was my first time eating a coconut so i wasnt sure whether they're supposed to taste that way or the coconut had gone bad.

can someone please help me out? thanks ^^

  • Sometimes the coconut meat will be clear and "slimy." It should taste good, though. Let your taste buds be your guide. If it doesn't taste good, don't eat it.

  • Oh my goodness, that makes opening it so much easier.

  • It was so good I wanna bath in and drink coconut water every minute of every day for the rest of my life!!How in the world does all that water get inside the coconut to begin with?!?! That in itself is a fascinating miracle in my opinion.

  • I just drank the water from a Thai coconut for the first time last week. All I can say is: O*M*G I it was so amazing! It almost made me orgasm!!! If you wanna make t even better, try blending some in a blender with some of the meat and a few Medjool dates. I did and nearly exploded with ecstacy, it tasted so indescribably yummy!!!! To think I never tasted this delicacy until now at 37 years old!

  • great video 5 stars!!! I got it open first try

  • Yes, they really do taste better.Waaaaayyyyy better. And how much fun is it to take out all your aggressions on a coconut shell, and then pretend to be on vacation walking around with a straw sticking out of the coconut?!?!

  • screw driver and make 2 holes.... then chop it in half...

  • Amazing!!!

  • I have to say it appears as "Opening a Young Thai" then later on I see coconut. Some people might get the wrong impression.

  • improves the popularity of the video

  • Thank you for the great instructions... I got it open and it tastes really good!

  • i swear people find any reason to praise god...

  • You don't have to agree with what anyone says, but last time I checked, everyone was entitled to their opinions.

  • BTW, SuperchargeMe, thanks SOOOOO much for posting this vid--I just did this a couple hours ago, and it worked like a charm!!!!

  • ya and last time i checked, so was i

  • This is so easy even I can do it!

  • i dont know what all the hype is about these coconuts. All my life i've been eating older coconuts and a couple days ago i go to whole foods, about to grab a old coconut, and a lady that works there was like "oh no! you have to try the young coconuts, they taste so much better and the juice is so sweet and delicious!" so i get a young one, theres barely any meat & it's slimy. plus the juice was so sugary i couldnt stand it.

  • ooh wow...thanks so much. I always had a hard time opening it. You guys makes it easier for me... :))

  • Thanks so much!!!

  • She is sooo happy now!

  • You make it look too easy. :)

  • OMG, i just tried it and it worked perfectly! thank you so much!!! it usually took me like 15 minutes or so and i almost chopped my finger off! haha.

  • THANK YOU!

  • VERY cool. I had been sawing them open with a hacksaw or serrated knive, which is hard work, takes time and is really messy. No more! One whack and it's open.

  • cool stuff.

  • Thanks a lot. I did it wrong all the time. Now I know how to do it in a nice way.

  • wow. now i know the right way how to open it

  • Praise the Lord....someone who is raw...and believes in God...

  • I'm with you on the God part. Getting there with you on the RAW part.

  • that's great!

  • try shaving off all of the coir until you get it totally bare, on the bottom there is a hole that is covered by a membrane that you can poke a straw in or just drink it right out of the hole like breast milk!! coconut water is the breastmilk of nature! also look for the face on the bottom, the hole is the mouth, its awsome, god put it there for us to discover!!!

  • Too cool. Thanks for showing this! And thanks for giving props to God for this lovely drink/food.
