Becoming immortal is easier said than done (even for a guy with 4 digit IQ, I bet). Besides you'll be immortal with limited "hard drive memory", they'll be a time when you have to stop remembering, because there is no way you can fit all those memories over eternity in your brain. People don't really forget.

@SquareCrystal you are taking my example too seriously! Can you tell me how you will "overwrite" past memories? You can't just replace memories, or choose which memories to replace. Our brains aren't like computers where there is a nice GUI that displays what you are doing, it's all jumbled usually. And memories are connected, like a map. deleting one could delete another. you can't just "pull up" a memory and say "Hmm, this is a useless memory, I think I'll delete it..."

Savants with incredible memory don't have any more of their brain used than other people.
