There's lot's of versions of "Night Train" -- it's a standard. Silvan's is WAY above the original -- turning playing the notes into playing the music -- this really is extraordinary and great fun to play.

Orchestra back as early as 1940. It was later recorded by one of Ellington's sidemen, Jimmy Forrest, in 1951 on the United Records label. (It was also reputed to have been the favorite song of the late prize fighter, Sonny Liston.)

@gibson22varcelone U guys are cool, in not wanting color boundaries. But among modern musicians who play this type of music, it is universally referred to as BLACK music. This is because the Blues is an entirely a creation of the of Southern Blacks. Originally going back to the Mississippi and Louisiana Delta Blues Roots ,i.e. Charley Patton, Son House, Robert Johnson, through T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Pinetop Perkins, and on and on... I'm a white guy, I play Black Music. Its RESPECT.

When someone shook the tambourine off their hip and another went Ah-Oh, right in the rhythm, along with a setting of wood-burning stove in the center for heat; then, it just doesn't get any better playing gospel and blues. You're exactly on -- one can play, or not. It's not race, it's feel and thousands of practice hours.
