The most obvious example of corruption in russia is new business start ups or foreign firms.
Many of these companies collapse or pull out because of the amount of "back handing" that has to be done with police/politicians/gangsters just to get a foothold.
As corrupt as the west is (and it is corrupt) 9 times out of 10 if your business collapses it will be your fault, not because you were unable to pay off the corrupt [insert person/politician here].
I completely disagree about 9 out of 10 business failures in the West being the result of their owners' personal deficiencies.
