Yes, the German pilots I have on tape giving interviews on North Africa, all had very HIGH Praise for the P-40 as did the Italian pilots.. Thank God, the Americans sent them to the Brits..

Without the P-40 Warhawks the Brits would have suffered badly..

But again as Churchill said when informed of the attack on Pearl said..

"We Are Saved!!" From a quote from Churchill's personal secretary who was with Churchill at the time..

Very Grateful that England didn't fall..That would have SUCKED..

el p-40 derribando bf-109, que soberana tonteria, el jg-27 con solo 90 aviones, les dio palizas a los numerosos escuadrones de p-40, alli el p-40 se mostro como una soberbia porqueria de avion incapaz de enfrentarse al bf-109f en combate maniobrado de alta velocidad es mas a solo 5,000 metros de altura el p-40 era un pato mareado, ni trepaba, ni picaba, ni aceleraba, nada fueron pasto para el puñado de pilotos del jg-27

The P-40 did rather well for itself vs. the Bf 109.Not fantastic, but it held its own.

@EvilxMerlin Well, it was used to support the army primarily. So although it was shot down quite often by 109's, thr p40 was actually making a good contribution to the ground war, unlike the 109's.

Um, the 109's were used quite a bit for Ground Attack. See the Bf 109E-1B, -4/B and E-4/BN and the various Rüstsatz for the G models (R1 & R2 specifically).
