Can it record any better than 720x480 NTSC or 720x576 PAL? Like 1280x720 or anything close to that?

I bought another capture card. Is there a way to change the aspect ratio it records in? Does it matter if the signal is coming out of the TV or the console?

I use a gamebridge, quality is great. Works fine. My yo-yo glitch video is an example of it.
