  • What ship is that?

  • @light101 Drake

  • Nice now i know how they stop at 200+kms from belt why they do it in hi sec sounds like a plan with incurrsion.. they can hit at over 100kms thanks m8 o/ fly safe

  • Remember to bring a warp core stabilizer

  • Thumbs up for using a Drake in your vid :D

  • wow. Incredible. (btw: right click sun > add sun to overview. It will always be 1 sun in system)

  • What happens if they use a warp jammer on you?

  • You have to warp out before they get the warp disrupter on you.

  • umm am i missing something but what is so fucking impressive about a safe on the sun when you can make a safe anywhere and get the same if not better results?

  • The sun allows you to align to your safe by aligning to the sun. A regular safe you cant align to. Smart idea really

  • well the same follows for a planet and a planet can be found by simple clicking in space.. if i make a safe between planet I belt I and planet II then i would stay aligned to planet two to be aligned to my safe

  • True.. However what is easier to find when trying to find something quick? The giant shining thing in space or right click go to planet and go to the right planet. I just find it easier with the sun. Personal preference I guess

  • It can make it easier to stay aligned to your safe spot, since a sun tends to be quite big and bright.

  • I'm kinda suprised he was using a Drake for that vid. Unless it's a Tier 2 Drake, so that would make it a little less impressive...

Or maybe I'm overestimating the dangers of 0.0 space... Well, Better Save Than Sorry...

What's that bell noise coming from?

  • There's no such thing as a T2 Drake.

And 0.0 isn't dangerous when you have 100+ blues in system.

  • I know that now after playing for a month and flying one myself...

And finding an alliance that will take you in as young as I am in game isn't that easy of a feat... unless you so happen to know some that will take a new (less than 6 month) character in... (Do NOT say Goonswarm)

  • @MagusUnion fail

  • LAYSAN1! YOUR A DEAD, DEAD MAN!!!

  • You can now, in your overview settings, add the sun to your list. That way you can just select it from your overview list. This keeps you from having to navigate the (rightclick) dropdown.

  • Im sry, dont know if its just me that is slow, but i didnt quite catch the effect of the sun.. what made it that special

  • it can be seen easly from anywaher in the system allowing you to align with a safespot but simply aligning to the sun.

  • Oh that was the point... sry... then its a good lesson :)

  • hence its totally useless ... there is a seperate bookmark-window for this purpose, no need to select anything

  • you can also do this to a different belt, in a planet region with lots of belts, to trick the enemy into coming there to gank you. then once they are warped there and see you 400km away, untouchable, you can turn on your mwd and go jam them with your sexy blackbird, still thinking they have an easy kill, will maybe even try to come towards you. at this point your friends will all be there and you can warp out and back in at a different distance and all be happy campers with your loot.

  • Never go into low/null sec with a Nagflar, i may have it fitted for 38000 damage per volley. but hot damn if they can sram you your screwed.....

  • just to say thanks your up-loads, great advice.

Some of these tactics I have already learnt through trial and error and some i have you to thank for.

Im only in EVE two month, and i have a lot to catch up on.

posts like this are essesial to a new capsuler.

But dont give away too much info coz i may end up owning your ass.....lol (jk)

  • there will be more videos coming, the next one is on gate camping followed by ones on reaction\invention.

Glad they are of some use, im not bothered by showing the how's of pvp as it takes experience to become good at it, i found its good to fraps your fights too. That way if you loose you can go back and see what you did wrong.

  • I will be looking out for that one as i just got jumped at a gate.

I had everything i owned and was on the move to new space and.....you guessed i lost the lot and was podded :-(

My fault, i took a 9 jump shortcut through 0.3.

Did i laugh? no i was proper gutted...lol

  • u kno they kan find u... all they have to do is liek see u warp there and theyle probe u down

  • correct, as i mentioned in an earlier lesson on safe spotting, YOU CAN BE PROBED OUT.. this tactic buys you time to get safe at a pos or station from the SAFESPOT CLOSE to the sun, or simply keep moving to other safespots in a game of cat and mouse.

either way its still far prefferable to sitting in an astroid belt with your arse hanging when tackle for a gang of 30+ rocks up.

  • I wouldn't exactly call it a safespot when say IF a pirate sees you warping to the sun - all he has to do is follow you and you get owned.

  • wrong... listen/watch the video again...

**YOU ARE USING THE SUN TO STAY ALIGNED TO A SAFESPOT ANYWHERE IN THE SYSTEM.**

Yes another pilot will see you warp TOWARDS the sun but you infact are warping to the safespot .. not the sun itself which is where the "pirate" winds up when he try's to follow you.

  • tbh you've not explained well enough in the video

  • What dont you understand about it? (no not a smart ass question, an honest one)

  • I was looking at that after reading your earlier comment. I didnt do the safespot as part of the lesson cause i had already done the safespot lesson, I simply assumed people would know what im talking about when i said using a safespot near to the sun. I think your right though, at a later point i might look to remake the video with the safespot creation as part of it.

  • Do you even understand what your talking about? You dont warp DIRECTLY to the sun but to a safespot that is near the sun resulting in said pirate warping to the sun instead, leaving you safe and snug in your safe spot.

  • linzy im assuming your directing this to azzaagai ?

During the video i state a number of times you are warping to a safe spot, not directly to the sun, its because the video does not show me creating the safespot that a small number of people just are not getting it.

when i can be bothered ill be redoing this lesson to include the safespot creation that i mention a number of times.

  • no... Its passive tanked, ill be doing active and passive sheild and armor tanking in a later lesson(when i get to it), keep an eye out for it.

good hint is to look for the cloudy bubble around the ship .. no cloudy bubble .. no active tank..

  • Hey mate, aussie ye? Just wondering to get a decent passive tanked drake what skills would be my main priority? flying gallente and dont really want to cross train but got a craving to fly a drake or a SB.

  • firstly dont waste your time on stealth bombers, the recent patch has nerfed missiles->small ship damage somewhat and stealth bombers are now crap at killing frigates, they used to be a one cycle kill.

As for the drake, all the skills you want to concentrate on are under engineering. ie skill "EM SHIELD compensation" - this skill effects both active and passive hardner bonuses. If your doing this for pvp, stick with armor tanking and current race.. if your doing this for missions then all good.

  • zomfg active tank drake ^-^
