  • do you have to be really strong to do this ?

or can you do this either way purely on technique ?

  • Tito loves using that big ole head of his.

  • Put my head on his chest, got it. Now wonder I keep getting choked by a guillotine -_-"

  • These are about as good as a high school wrestler's takedowns

  • @Whyyousuchadumbbutt These are high school wrestler's takedowns.

  • tito ortiz is fuckin wack..he lost to all good elite fighters like rashad...chuck..and others..and thn made a debut in tna...

  • 1:01 excuse me??

  • @LWC4lifejoejoe shut up this is tito ortiz i think he knows better

  • i have this fuckin turf toe injury now and so i cant bend my toes 2 takedown.

  • everyone has a different shooting style.

  • the comments on here ..priceless XD

  • 3:11 "bite the dick" and then throw him down.

  • 1:00 "so i suck him"... wtf!! O_O lmao

  • Is that tiki?

  • Bullshit aside Tito is hands down one of the best/caring coaches there is.. Hate him or love him he's legit =]

  • Haha

    "My headposition is always up

i want his back over his hips so

I Suck him, and push him over."

    Good trick against a tricks.

Blowjob push him over and run :D

Or if u want a client more comfy laying down :D

    1,01min.!!!

  • @N1clasR yours is hands down the funniest comment on here!!!! XD

  • Tito is an amazing technician.

  • Being a massive chuck lidell fan I hated Tito for ages until I re watched TUF 3 and I realized he's actually really good and a great coach!

  • tito has a gigantic head

  • @pikanoob Yes, he can take you down with his big size head .

  • That is a BAIANA

  • Holy shit, I just noticed Tito has some pretty big hands :o

I like this video. I also like switching the double leg takedown at the last second into an upper cut, but launching upwards so I get my whole body behind it. It almost looks like Ryu's jumping upper cut, except I don't jump up and scream "Shoriuken!" or whatever he says.

  • I'm curious, what instructional is the best introduction to MMA techniques? I'm interested in one that shows the proper and correct basic techniques, rather than someone's favorite moves which are really seen in practice. I'm especially interested in escapes from the side control, mount etc.

  • I don't know that head push other man cheat

  • Tito win beat Ryan Bader UFC 132

  • This is a very nice mma doubleleg footwork. It would get stuffed in wrestling i think.

  • Tito was actually a great coach on TUF 3

  • any instructionals for shooting on jenna?

  • Tito sucks men.. end of

  • Hey I'm 14 and doin wrestling next year. Any weightlifting exercises you guys can point out to give me some help?

  • @xKODIAKx91 i dont do wrestling but u should try power cleans. it helps ur overall strenth

  • wow, that fucker is fast.

  • What about in the first moment (before jump and catch) opponent do a kick in head ?

  • No wonder all his shots get stuffed in MMA, he practices on Tikki.

  • this guy is the worlds biggest idiot, you cant even call that a double leg.by the time u drop ur knee the other person gonna crossface the crap at of you .....so stupid

  • very nice this guys r some fuking haterrs! nice shot! and its hard to get a shot like that in wrestling ppl! this is for mma

  • Why would I want to learn boxing from Joe Lauzon

  • Tito needs to stop teaching the worst double legs ever and just keep on gettting his ass kicked aha.

  • Nope. Its a blast double modified for MMA to keep shooter away from chokes, to minimize shooter's time in striking range, and to finish to side control presuming the shootee won't belly out, as this isn't sport wrestling. Know what you are watching. Learn something.

And the UFC isn't shit ever since Royce Gracie showed up and won UFC1. Every single UFC champ is a far better fighter than most other people.

    LOL speaking from experience.

  • @redbulldog Royce Gracie is amazing, he came in there and said I will beat anyone that you have for me. He was right away my hero when he started winning and winning. I was inspired, then he began to grow old, but he had family who faught in different championships so it's all good. I am glad Royce Gracie shared his technique with the U.S. Army, Marine Corp, and Navy. Some police officers are even being trained.

  • @AMAURIS966

Yup, obviously by my username i train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. I'd say that 90% of the people I train with are police officers who are learning it for work related self defense.

  • @TheJiuJitsuWrestler that's cool man, nice to know Police Officers are trained in an amazing technique. Keep up the good work!

  • One of the shittiest doubles I had ever seen. He is shooting from too far away and not penitrating at all. For all you pussies who are going to try to defend him, for one, he wrestled in highschool and that was it and second, being a pro fighter doesn't mean your great at it, Titos a case in point.

  • @19thaman79 He also wrestled in college which is a bit better than high school. Oh, and he won a UFC title, which is a bit better than not being great at fighting. But never mind. I'm sure you could coach MMA style doubles better than Tito Ortiz! Yay you!

  • @redbulldog He won the title from a scrub when the competeition in the UFC was shit. FYI, hes not demonstraiting an "MMA" double leg, its a double and his form and technique is shit. Unlike you, I'm speaking from experience.

  • @redbulldog He didn't wrestle in college FYI.

  • @jugo87012 Cal State Bakersfield, under T.J Kerr, FYI.

  • @19thaman79 Very true

  • that wasnt a good takedown he should try to do a penetration step to add a littke bit more speed to confuse the oppenent and no trolls to this comment cuz im a wrestler and i no my takedowns

  • @davidg41 yeah well he was a ufc champion and hes a dominant grappler, so i guess he also knows his takedowns

  • This is really helpful! Thanks xD

  • to every youtube warrior: tito ortiz is a professional fighter, you are nobody, so watch this video, learn and shut the fuck up!!

  • omg i always do this when the opponet is dizzy, when were on the ground just a few punches to the temple or other sides of the head or face, when hes rlly weak ARM BAR n it rlly helps ALOT !

  • @Nihlus25 Perhaps. But what I'd really like to see is a graphic embedded on the video identifying whether they are REVIEWING MMA DVDS or WRESTLING DVDS.

  • what is the first one

  • Thats actually a pretty legit shot, with me though, I step, Penetrate (Drop the knee), wrap the legs, and drive it in, but for being an MMA fighter he's actually pretty good at the takedown!

  • @rokkakubeatJet It's almost as if Tito is about as good as a former Div I Cal State Bakerfield collegiate wrestler. That's amazing, considering he's just an MMA fighter!

  • If only there was some way to tell whether TITO ORTIZ is trying to teach MMA or wrestling shots here. There's really absolutely no way to tell. Let's argue about it!

  • @redbulldog OK, let's. If he were teaching wrestling shots he'd be doing so at contact distance instead of farther away than that. It's obvious, it's MMA he's talking about here.

  • @MrMZaccone You are awesomely correct sir! But...I wonder...could there possibly be any other way to REVIEW the video to see if this is from an MMA DVD?

  • @redbulldog Nah! That would be actual compelling and credible, written evidence. Who bothers with that shit on youtube? LOL!

  • so you suck him huh

  • this is why he was losing to chuck, it's really easy to sprawl and get back up on your feet if ur shooting this low

  • I''m new and decent for a wreslter.. Wanted to ask if all wrestlers do better putting their POWER Leg in front? My right leg is my Power Leg but at times feels uncomfortable shooting for Double legs that way so if anyone can help thanks

  • @warrior4lif3 well everyone is different its all how you feel... you do whatever works for you... me personally i like have my power foot back.. my power leg is also my right leg... and naturally my power leg is much more coordinated .. so when i go for a double i put my left (lead) leg down first then when i grab his legs and bring my right (power) leg up ... im able to use that to drive and get the takedown

  • This guy was once a dominate champ and ya'll trying to correct his technique? LMAO... STFU and learn... =)

  • @D26808 this guy was ONCE a dominating champ? dude hes still a champ

  • @D26808 You tell them, man!!!!

  • @D26808 dominant*

  • @D26808 Times have changed since then, that was nearly a decade ago. Now we're trying to learn some Pettis kick shit foo!

  • @D26808 there are plenty of wrestlers who have better wrestling technique than Tito Ortiz. Not many that can been him in a cage match though. The reason you're watching this is because its Tito, but trying to learn to fight from Tito is like trying to learn to Fuck from lex steele. You don't have the same tools

  • @bootypicture Actually these are basic wrestling techniques that your average sized person could utilize.

  • @BandakaKush That isn't the point. The point is that their are a lot of pure wrestlers with better technique. Tito was successful at ground & pound against people who were weaker or didn't have good takedown defense. You take Rashard Evens, or John Bones as an example of guys who have more serious wrestling pedigrees and technique.

The same would go for someone like GSP, he's a good enough wrestler for MMA, but he woudn't win a college wrestling match.

  • that niggas shot blows dick.... who the fuck is he taking down with that wheres the penetration step..... nigga what the fuck is this bswhen he changes levels he were he should be if he was already at his hip

  • @MrJaimebadboy you fail at life

  • I thought you were supposed to push him over and _then_ suck him

  • yuo need to have a big head to do this type of double! that's why tito's so good at it!

  • He got rich fighting, the rest of you haters are not. Just learn please.

  • i wrestle and the way i was taught to do the double was a penetration step first, drop to the knee and then finish but i guess they do takedowns different in mma cuz im sure tito is an accomplished wrestler.

  • @2upacalypsenow i think you missed the point of his comment, he said they will never work in wrestling. Folkstyle or freestyle because they are too far away.

@openquinsrule of course they would fail in wrestling but this is mma the takedowns are different. You dont think Tito Ortiz knows how to takedown someone in wrestling?? is that what you were implying?

  • 1:02 "i m gonna SUCK him and push him over." yo tito, didcha learn this from jenna

  • He's a good teacher from what I've seen in TUF

  • @gkdrummerboy Joke rite?

  • wow why do forums like this make me ashamed of the mma community?

  • @YossarianTheMeerkat because it's the internet. It shows how dumb humanity really is.

  • 1:02 Tito goes : "So i suck him !"

  • this takedown works on jenna jameson every night (or whoever his gf is lol)

  • ok so in a double takedown or up root (lift) ur forward leg should shoot between your opponent's legs and the other follow up to the side right??? i dont if this is correct but i do it in another way i shoot with my forward leg out side of his body to the side besides his leg and my back leg go between his legs, it kind makes it easier for me to lift and fast to shoot. is that correct or wrong?

  • @TrickzAsker yeh thats wrong. if ur a righty. u need ur right foot forward in a southpaw stance. because in wrestling, u need ur power foot forward, opposite of striking stance which is ur power leg back.

but if ur a more advance wrestler. its not a problem to shoot with either side

  • i would love to kick tito in the head when he gets 2 feet from the ground to shoot :)

  • @mmarantha lol, to bad you'll be on the ground before u get a chance lol. u actually will sacrafice a takedown for a kick?? hahahah wow noob. when someone shoots a takedown on u. the first thing u do is try to defend it lol. ur a wanna be. go back to ur fucking clueless martial arts technique lol.

  • yea he does shoot far away? and i dont think it wont work in mma either

  • i would love to have tito as wrestling and condition coach

  • is that tiki ghosn?

  • id rather kill my self than have any admiration for icp.

  • this looks gay and what tito says just makes it gayer.helpful video though

  • u suck him alright:P

  • all i gootta say is

    INSANE CLOWN PUSSY"S

  • @cacaman4000 INSANE CLOWN POSSE FOR LIFE.

  • Tito's pretty good at sucking guys :) lol

  • LOL, ORVX must be Aleksander Karelin sayin all that shit!or at least Dan Severn

  • 1:01 i laughed so hard, but a very helpful video lol

  • 1 thing i like about tito ortiz is His teaching video is actully the stuff that he knows. He actully shows his secret Not like george st pierre where he teach submission lol. and gsp isnt even a fuckin submission guy but thats all he teach But tito actully teach his secret how he wins fights

  • ok ok, I researched it a little & watched some of his other vids, I over stated it in my first comment, non the less he is far from a great wrestler and STILL in this it is bad form. Watch this with any guy who was a good wrestler and know's a little MMA they will tell you the same thing based on this vid. Based on his other vids and this, it looks like he has some upper body skills but his hips and footwork is over all, not great and here BAD! Jr College and D1 or even D3 are MILES apart.

  • really? where do u wrestle? and what awards have u received?(if any) dont make them up either cuz i will know

  • lol, spokenk like a true interntet research geek and mma video stud.

first off, I have been wathcing this stuf for a yr NEVER making a comment beucase I know it only invoke trollish wanna b's to jump on war path. 2nd look throught the comments MANY others have spoke on same thing, ans just the fact that u don't get what im saying tells me you know nothing. 3rd, the LAST thing I would allow is for my self to be identifed as somone that would allow him self to become involved in this convo.

  • with that said, he is apprently DESPITE this vid is a good wrestler, but not Great. 99.9% of D 1, 80% of D 3 & 60ish% of NAIA would beat him in Wrestling @wiehgt. I have been wrestlng for 30 years. As far as "awards" lol, you're cute but they surpass his credentials. Being a Jr College i guess "state champ" at that level says he know's some wrestling, I have already said this, it still don't mean shit as far as lol "awards" this vid is bad form, that's whole point. lol start working out.

  • yeah ur an idiot saying u would pin him 9 times out of 10 u r truly a retard, U R A FUCKING NOBODY u cant pin fuckin freshman highschool wrestlers and u thk u can pin tito ortiz

  • keep it up sunshine, nothing is gonna change that fact that you're a guy that invokes a dead rapper and plays MMA video games while keeping the stats in a note pad as a from of self aggrandizement.

  • repond to the pm , lets work it out.

  • Yo ORVX.

Ortiz was a wrestler in his sophomore year at Huntington Beach High School. Under coach Paul Herrera, Ortiz finished fourth in the state high school championships as a senior. Following high school, Ortiz continued his wrestling career, winning two California state junior college titles for Golden West College. Following his stint at Golden West, Ortiz wrestled at Cal State Bakersfield. Ortiz trained with future NCAA, World, and Super Bowl champion Stephen Neal.[5]

  • lol, this demo still sucked, as far as the rest of it, so what. I know Cali has some good High School wrestling and yea if he was good in Jr College that says somthing but don't even a compare to D1 or even tob level D3. NAIA and Jr is much much lower level. I doubt he ever wrestled varsity as Cal State and they are far from a power house in D1.

lol come to Iowa you can work out with former D1 All Americans everyday of the weak. lol, regarless based on this vid BAD FORM!

  • if that guy sprawls tito ortiz's face is goin in the mat

  • Comment removed

  • @ORVX WHAT THE FUCK. Are you the biggest idiot in the world or are you purposely being stupid? Everyone knows BJJ isnt tito's strong point. He's a great wrestler. Watch his fights You Jive MotherFucker

  • @TheFinderBinder your making yourself look stupid, anyone who watches this & knows ANYTHING about wrestling will think your a moron. I notcie 3 other guys made the same comment I made. Let me ask u this, how do I know U never wrestled a day in your to say some shit like this. Tell me, where did he wrestle in college? how did he do?

double leg take down is folkstyle 101 and what he just demoed would not pass for Jr High coaching.

  • hey dumbass this is an mma video, these takedowns are meant for mma matches, u will notice every time be4 he demonstrates the takedown they are in mma(fighting stance) with their hands up, i can guarantee he is a higher caliber wrestler then ur ass will ever be

  • hey ass hole I been fighing casually for 9 years, I udnerstand it's not the same but it don't change that his form sucked in this. watch his hips come up, thats just for starters.

Im sure he could kick my ass in an MMA that has nothing to do with his form and some technique is acorss the board wrestling or MMA.

I would stick him in a Folk style or Greco . As far as you go, I would beat your ass in an MMA.

  • @tupaclxAlive33 - go through the comments you will 4 or 5 molre that agree with me. as far as you go, I can tell just from your post you don't know shit about MMA or and for sure not Wrestling.

well..... you probably have all the stats down, lol. and probably kick ass in every MMA video game game out there.

  • lol, read my other comments around this one, but I later cought another vid where he is talking about not get you hips to far behind you and waist going perpendicular to your legs, he himself is actually correcting what he did in this vid, so one last time, the form is, (not limited to back and hips) sucked, even if using for MMA. angle don't account for what we just saw here. Pretty sure he would agree if he watched this.

  • yeah the point is, he is a higher caliber wrestler then u will ever be

  • did you read what I said, this is false. In MMA I would be in big trouble, in a Folk or Grecko I would pin him, 9 of 10 times. atleast a Major. Have done done alot of freestyle but guessing the same goes thier also.

  • Are you being sarcastic? He was a wrestler in Highschool. You might have your fighters confused.

  • @legendof The last thing I want to do is get in a pissing match over a MMA guy's skills, but if you look at last 10 post you see 3 guys saying the same thing. I could care less how good of an MMA guy he is, If I saw a couch training a 7th grade team with THIS form, I would pull my son. I thought I was making a pretty obvious statement. Any average or above HS wrestler would say the same thing. The above form in this video sucked in 10 different ways.

  • @ORVX I GUARANTTEE Ortiz has heard the same comment from guys he know's in volved in wrestling or the fight game.

  • he was a collegiate wrestler retard, wrestling is his main discipline

  • I was really impressed how Tito took Forrest down easily.

  • everyone took Forrest down, Forrest has very liitle takedown defense

  • @100isthebest forrest says he doesn't like wrestling and sprawling.

  • These takedowns would fail in wrestling, he shoots from to far away

  • @openguinsrule this takedown is so long because when you do it in mma usually you hit to set it up and fake the move, while in wrestling of course you cannot hit and this change the distance

  • @openguinsrule however it's a very long move! if you look at same Tito Oriz's match you'll see he often tries this long approach takedowns

  • @openguinsrule because he has strikes to worry about. MMA needs to have a different strategy then wrestling.

  • @SquatlngBear

wrestlers seem to forget about fists so they think they can fight anybody cuz they can wrestle but end up gettin knocked out if they get too close

  • I would say that argument applies more to the strikers. Strikers think they can "just punch him in the face" but once a wrestler or a BJJ guy gets the fight to the ground they are no longer in their comfort zone. I do agree with you that some grapplers dont always think about the strikes..(Frank Mir and Shane Carwin/Brock Lesnar) but I think its more the other way around most of the time.

  • @sinatrafan1987

well wrestling is good like 50 percent of the time im not sayin its worthless its important

but if you are a "striker" like you said you gotta be ready to get out the way if someone tries wrestlin, or counter balance it so you can mess them up tryin to do the... double legged take down

i suck at wrestlin so i try to just dodge the tackles n stuff.

  • @openguinsrule your forgetting thats wrestling, this is cage fighting take downs it seem the same but its not. why?? wrestling you get close to your opponent without worrying about any fist, elbow, and most of all knees coming towards you.. Cage fighting is mixed with different fighting styles.. So you see taking down your opponent in close range is very risky.

  • @openguinsrule dude, mma is not wrestling! try shooting from normal wrestling range in mma match and you gonna get knocked the fuck out..peace!

  • @openguinsrule He's not a Wrestler. He's an MMA fighter, so it doesn't matter.

  • @Firecrotch6979 Tito Ortiz was a wrestler from high school through collage

  • @ajkrunch94 No shit. But he currently is not a Wrestler, he fights in MMA.

  • @Firecrotch6979 look i tried to tell you something so don't be an asshole for no reason. an you should not be posting dumbass comments like that if you already know that. so fuck off

  • @ajkrunch94 You fuck off, you're the one who tried to correct me.

  • @Firecrotch6979 but you said hes not a wrestler once a always a wrestler so fuck off you std at least thats what your name says you prick you know nothing of the sport

  • @ajkrunch94 Not quite. I said he isn't currently a Wrestler. He's an MMA ighter. you're still wrong.

  • @Firecrotch6979 an its not "fights in mma its he is mixed martial artist retard

  • @ajkrunch94 Haha, okay, then what do you call it? It's called a fucking fight. He's a fighter.

  • @openguinsrule its for demonstration porposes

  • @openguinsrule what do you ,mean he shoots from too far away? hes shooting from striking distance if u set up for a shot from any closer ud already be getting punched in the face. thats the approximate distance i shoot from and i have no problems getting the takedown..maybe u suck?

  • @2upacalypsenow That's why penguinsrule said "in wrestling". Learn to read.

  • @2upacalypsenow LOL right on buddy, you got it right :p

  • @2upacalypsenow see but openguinsrule is talking about wrestling not mma

  • @2upacalypsenow hes talking about wrestling. youre right, in mma, he would be at a prime distance, in freestyle wrestling, there would be no way that a shot from that far would ever be successful

  • @2upacalypsenow Tito is such a prick how about doing it slowly so begginiers can pick it up

  • @sikhman100 um he just spent 6 minutes going over a blast double. How beginner does it get??

  • @2upacalypsenow HE SAID IN WRESTLING U IDIOT not MMA of course in mma ull get punched its different in wrestling dimwit!

  • @2upacalypsenow Nah, I'm a wrestler and he's right in terms of using it in an actual wrestling match. The other guy would sprawl by the time you got to him. You are right about using it in an MMA match, though.

  • @2upacalypsenow i think you missed the point of his comment, he said they will never work in wrestling. Folkstyle or freestyle because they are too far away.

  • @2upacalypsenow He is talking about wrestling, calm down get off your high horse. I tend to see MMA guys get there dicks all hard when talking themselves up. This is not an MMA move idiot, it's a fucking wrestling technique, maybe u suck at life, learn the sport and every other art if you want to be a good MMA fighter.

  • @2upacalypsenow He's talking about wrestling, not mma. There are no strikes in wrestling. Maybe u should learn to read?

  • @2upacalypsenow

He's talking about real wrestling, not MMA.

    JUST wrestling.

@Openguinsrule He's shooting from that far b/c that isn't a real double it's a modified version meant specifically for MMA. just like alot of wrestling move are.

But yeah in real wrestling there'd be no way that takedown would work, you get sprawled real hard.

  • @2upacalypsenow lol woww you're dumb kid. "These takedowns would fail in wrestling..." Key words. He's not talking about MMA where a striking distance matter at all. You probably do not participate in wrestling or MMA by your ignorant and taunting comment. Of course you'll rebuke me in this by posting outrageous accomplishments you'd be busy training for if you weren't too busy putting people down on youtube.

  • @2upacalypsenow

    totally agree hahah

it's almost easier when you have some distance

  • @2upacalypsenow Yes he is shooting at a good fighting distance but i think the guy that your talking shit to is a wrestler and we shoot from a lot closer but yes your both right.

  • @2upacalypsenow Your suppose to be way closer when you shoot a shot retard. And you will have problems getting the takedown if you face a good wrestler.
