It's not whether her surgery makes her attractive or not.

It looks unnatural. Her face is stiff, and inexpressive. She ruined her face like Michael Jackson did. My sister once said she liked how Bette Davis grew old; because she wasn't

afraid of it. She was simply old, and did not hide it. To deny Dolly is old now, and used poor judgement, is to deny the obvious.

At least the music remains. I fell in love with this song from the radio, long before I ever saw what Dolly looked like.

I've always maintained that this song can't be autobiographical because the woman has never been born that Miss Dolly can't compete with. Little Jolene must have certainly been a charmer, though, if she made that much of an impression on Dolly.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. EVERY SINGLE PERSON I have EVER encountered who has put down the way Dolly looks (i.e. "unnatural," "scary," etc.), has been ugly. Or fat. Or fat and ugly. A mere fact/observation--use it as you wish.

What Lane says is true. This song, beautiful as it is, still hurts me because it happened to me. The woman picked up man after man with her poor husband trying to stay with her. Unfortunatel, this a common tale among men/women relationships. Im sorry this happened to you. It's unfortunate that country music always seem to bring the worst out of relationships, Not all of us (MEN) are like that. I find it interesting that this song evokes so much attention, although beautiful, i find it hard to believe a women would stay with a man, if he uttered another woman's name in his sleep.
