  • Nobody cares how old you are... Not even Pink Floyd, you lunatics!

  • A MASTERPIECE

  • I'm 13 and I cry almost every time I listen to this beautiful song :') shame that today there is no group like this ...

  • Beatiful deep chilling song, but why the literal video? Literal slideshow videos always kill it, Pink Floyd deserves better.

  • @Pouk3D, I think of it like a history lesson, but you are right a looser interpretation would be welcome. What did you have in mind?

  • pain

  • to all you men who have given your life for us we love you and pray for you , god bless.......

  • This song still gives me goosebumps.

  • yes i know,BRICK in the wall. my typing sucks

  • if not for the loss of ERIC FLETCHER WATERS, pink floyd after syd would have never been. all of floyd was truly great but waters had the life of tradgedy that was so perfectly conveyed from 1973 though 89. thats why every album from darkside to the final cut was life in theater instead of just pop sounds. brink in the wall 2 is the quintesential anthem for all. remember that before rap, there actually was real music!

  • "ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL"

  • I lost a lot of good freinds in the Kongo. This song is so beautiful.Never forget...

  • Beautiful song & the lad's are still getting blown to bit's away from home it sucks big time, how Ironic..

  • how can anyone dislike this song???

  • The bad thing with this video is the fade out at the end, it breaks the original effect

  • wow amazing

  • Waters' father was killed at Anzio Beach

  • you heard it was about waters dad? he says its about his dad...

  • this song always gives me goosebumps... i heard it was about waters dad

  • @apinkradiohead it was indeed. a very haunting tube indeed. Cried buckets first time a listened to it properly

  • one of the most epic songs ever made.............makes me cry, I served in the Marines, and we lost two guys while I was at my duty station. I can't imagine what their familes must have went thru.............

  • For some reason I can't not cry when i hear this song. Though for the most part I've heard it enough times now that I can keep from sobbing.

  • *chills*

  • Signed with his own rubber stamp..... sad.

  • if you listen carefully you can understand the words and it is a very very very sad song

  • Lost a freind in afghanistan 3 years ago. We where there together, i came home, he did not. Why ?

There has never been a good war or a bad peace.

  • @TBC112 thank you for your sacrifices i am sorry that your friend didn't make it back home you all face the worst of the worst and it is a shame that we don't do more for you i thank you for fighting to keep the rest of us safe

  • @TBC112 Thank you

  • @TBC112 the peace before WW2 was a bad peace while they let Hitler warmonger and tried to appease him which made him much harder to defeat in the end.

  • @TBC112 No country has ever benefited from a war

    -Sun Tzu

  • @VoodooWeegee87

Freedom is a benefit beyond measure..

    -Anonymous

  • @xXxXpz ... That is hardly true..

  • How could someone dislike this?

  • its good to know that people still listen to pink floyd

  • @deustscheririshmann

people will listen to Pink Floyd until the end of this world

  • @deustscheririshmann

yeah i totally agree with you, but it's also so bad to know that good people still leave us for a stupid war...

  • @deustscheririshmann Fuck yeah man. Easily my favortie band.

  • @deustscheririshmann I grew up on Pink Floyd and it is the blood in my veins.

  • @deustscheririshmann i'm 21 years old, I listen to old rock and pink floyd each day, not one skipped

  • @deustscheririshmann even in a hundred years people will still listen to floyd

  • It was dark all around.

There was frost in the ground

    When the tigers broke free.

    And no one survived

From the Royal Fusiliers Company C...

  • @wldmrksdrf Yeah great words, great song!

  • The scars of war ripple through the generations. My grandma lost her dad in the war, and in some small way that rippled through my mother and into me. The long lasting effect of these wars cannot be underestimated.

  • I always fill up listening to this, I've not lost anyone in afghanastan YET but god help me if i do. Pure class music making this.

  • And Water`s son hung from the same flags.

  • when you think about one of your parents or siblings dying you can imagine clearly how horrible it is and the impact on your family, but when you apply that same devastating event to families of 60 million people, our minds cannot even begin to conceive the full impact of world war 2.

  • Replace High Command with George W. Bush And the song has the same meaning

  • @w33dweedw33dweed

Freedom isn't free! Should we just let every country just run us over? Our presence in other parts of the world is enough to persuade others from even more worse actions. Ever heard of Genocide?! Coward!!!

  • @StylixTWC yeh lets just blow everything up so theres no genocides all George Bush wanted was money and fame so gtfo and stop sucking that hyprocrital son of a bitch's dick

  • @w33dweedw33dweed

I think the terrorist muslim Insane Obozo who is currently the 'president' is waiting for you to make a private appearance. Pray to whatever god you believe in that the USA does not name you it's enemy or be ready to pay the price! Fact: the USA is the most powerful country that has ever existed in the history of mankind. Get over it!

  • @w33dweedw33dweed

Comparing Bush to Stalin or Castro or Kim or any other dictator is ignorant. How many citizens of the US have been executed by their leader?

  • @StylixTWC cool story bro

  • @StylixTWC and what is texas doing? yeah they're frying criminals... but some of them might not even have done it but they're frying him ''just in case'' he did it

  • @StylixTWC Fact: The United States of America is the only first-world Western country who still executes criminals. Fact: During the American Revolution, the Patriots established prison ships in New England where guards beat, abused, and shot inmates (also Americans, Americans not loyal to Washington). While the Staes may not be as overt an example as the USSR or North Korea, do not be decieved into thinking that American Presidents have not executed men and women of their country inhumanely

  • @soopernoobie22

Criminals should be executed if they commit a capital crime! Not doing so is the reason for the publized high crime rates in the Western World. Prison is a joke, and there is no such thing as 'rehabilitation'. Make the punishment fit the crime and make prison unbearable and you will see crime fall. Give me one factual account of any American president executing anyone 'inhumanely'.

  • @StylixTWC Wow, you're a moron. Why is it the people that hate Obama are also idiots? Just a lucky coincidence I guess. Better to vote for Bachman is it?

  • @typhoonaaron

We need an American citizan in the White House, not some illegal drug abusing, left wing (socialist), bow down to the terrorists idiot who lies, cheats and knows nothing about economics, business or how to be a commander-in-chief. Not to mention having an uncle and aunt in the U.S. illegally who are constantly breaking the law, and these are just the ones we know of.

  • @StylixTWC

Dude, I love how all you republican americans say that obama is a socialist,

In the rest of the world we'd see him or any other democrat as very right wing.

Or how you're always saying left wing parties don't understand the economy whilest actually they understand it perfectly fine.

Or how america pictures itself as the leading democratic country in the world, while they only have two main parties (both right wing), and it's nearly impossible for other parties to start up.

  • @STimo95

    @STimo95

I respect and appreciate your opinion, but as to why we see him as a Socilaist, what would you call 'Obama Care".

If you are not an American citizen than you may not understand that family, not government, is the solution to the health care issue. Government programs are wasteful and not efficient, let free enterprise reign! The SSN is a good example. I don't expect to see a penny of all the money I spent in that system, yet the president's family is already spending it.

  • @StylixTWC

you can't possibly say that the introduction of the new health care system is a bad thing!

before it was introduced, loads of people were unable to get health care because the didn't have the right insurance, and they couldn't get this insurance because they either didn't have enough money, or the insurance company taught they were "too risky". So you think you should've just let them die?

  • @STimo95

Socialism does not work! Look at how poor the health care system is in countries that have adopted it. The citizens recieve a lower quality of care and have extremely long waits to get treatment. Also, the government, not the citizen decides what is 'appropriate care'. Again the few have to support the many, and this system just will not work. Who will pay for this system? Happiness is not right, only the pursuit of happiness is a constitutional right.

  • @StylixTWC

Why do i even bother trying to get a hipnotized right-wing american to regain his sense?

You just go on with you're life chasing little paper notes that don't actually bring any improvement to your life.

  • @StylixTWC lolwut? UK has better healthcare than the US because we don't let 2 million people suffer in pain because they can't afford to be treated.

  • @Ribbo

UK does not have better healthcare than US, who are crazy if you think otherwise. The US has the best staff, facilities and level of care anywhere. In the UK and other socialized medicine countries those needing treatment have to be 'approved' for care by the government, not the doctor of their choice, before any help is received. Also, because of the 'red tape' and lack of facitlities, patients are forced to 'suffer in pain' and not allowed to find treatment where they want it.

  • @StylixTWC Dear sir, health care in civilised country, is not what you would think. The goverment, not the bank, decide when you get health care. In the US, its all the finantial institution that decided weather or not you should be threated. Here in Canada, we do not let anny citizen die of their illness, beacause they dont have the insurances. That is what a true civilised country does. I do hope you kill yourself, with your shitty AR15, Iam happy, with my Chinese made SKS. (Bitch.)

  • Listening to this while I'm sitting in my room in Norway, waiting for a sign from my friends from Utoya who's still missing. I hope you come home safe!

  • your brother was in world war 2?

  • :'( i'm sorry Roger.....

  • this fuckin song WILL change your life

  • Greatest song of all time.

  • very good mate! well done on your video ..

  • How did Roger Waters dad die I know he was killed during the Battle of Anzio but how was he killed.

  • @pvtsoap262 Eric Waters' body was never recovered. We just know that he was killed on the third and last day of the German 14th Army's counter-offensive along with the rest of his company.

  • @TheBelgiphile Accually I found out that he was killed by Tiger Tanks or Infantry note that name of the Song but its a sad thing that he died. But with out his death there would be no album called the wall.

  • what does tigers mean in this song? thanks if someone answer

  • @CKFCDHTOTU It's referring to the German Mark IV Tiger tank.

  • All the dislikes must be the high commands relations

    Great Song :)

  • Thanks for posting this.I truly hope your bro isn't one of the many who have lost their lives in service in this afghan/iraq confllict!? Love this album and listening to it now makes me think how relevant, tho I wish it wasn't the case, it is presently ! My heart goes out to anyone out there who has lost or has a loved one in the armed forces! xxx

  • Chilling

  • this was going to be put into The Wall, but it proved to be way too personal for the other band members. it was based on the fact that Roger Waters' father, Eric Fletcher Waters, dies in WWII but the only problem with it is that Company C never deployed. Company Y, i believe, is the one that got bombed. in the Movie, However, they played this with Pink, Roger as a child, finding the scroll. subsequently, the Final Cut is dedicated to his father. Long Live the Fusiliers.

  • its sad how many men died during this war because of theese evil tanks that didnt deserve to be around at the time but the most important line to me is they were all left behind most of them dead the rest of them dienig thats how the high comand took my daddy from me

  • This song criticizes war and the blatant disregard for human life on the part of military commanders but this song does not criticize soldiers for what they do. This song only criticizes the military command and those in charge of the effort for their lack of respect for the soldiers who do the fighting.

  • Great work with this one brother. Faved it too

  • what an asshole to fade out

  • Very touching song! Took me years to find this song. It's on Echoes. Another song which is also touching is: The Band Played Waltzing Matilda. i can't remember the original artist, but The pouges done a great job!

  • War is only pointless for those who begin it. For the rest we have no choice but survive it. Roger Waters as all Pink Floyd grew up in the bombing of London. Had not Britain resisted ... then what? War is the most tragic and despicable craft mankind will ever practice. But as long as men have greed, psychopaths are granted power, we will have to face it.

  • @shiteetah Finally! A little bit of wisdom you! Unfortunately, most children grow up to inherit adult bodies. They attempt to speak wisdom yet they are continually reduced to the spewing of words that sound poetic and mature.

  • @shiteetah in a room filled with one hundred, it take everyone of them to keep the peace and yet if just one decides to be a tyrant...then shiiit happens. This is where our brave soldiers are called in....to do what the kids in adult bodies refuse to do...sad but true

  • @shiteetah most of the band were from Cambridge and relatively safe from the Blitz. Also as a toddler I doubt he would have been aware of the situation. He's a guy with a huge chip on his shoulder due to not having a chance to have a relationship with his dad hence alot of songs written by him about it.

  • @derekswan144 Good points.

  • @eistalion, actually, there is.. Is the last line: 'that's how the HIGH-COMMAND took my daddy FROM ME!.. The higher ranks are safe while soldiers are forced to fight the useless battle against Other soldiers who didn't do anything wrong against them!!

OT: this is my fav. Song of the wall, it's intence, heavy and personal...

  • The song was excluded from the album because it was dubbed "too personal" to Roger Waters to be placed in the album...it is a story about Roger Waters' father, who died in WW2. or at least the events surrounding it.

  • @TyleRiemsma The songs on The final cut though go buy it without a doubt one of there best albums.

  • nice slideshow

  • this is the saddest song I've ever heard. There's something autobiographical in there, as far as i concerned...

  • What's happened whit your brother?

  • i find it strange that this song was released as a single after the wall was completed instead of just putting it on the album itself. really a great song.

  • @62beatles69 They did this because the band thought that it was too personal to be on the album

  • this song always gives me goosebumps

  • I want to play this song at my grandfathers funeral

  • My father died when I was a teenager. He loved Pink Floyd, and when he passed, I inherited his CDs. The first time I heard this song, I was overwhelmed. (I'm getting misty eyed as I type and the song is playing above...) Is there anything that illustrates the pointlessness of war better than the line

    "And the Anzio bridgehead

    Was held for the price

Of a few hundred ordinary lives."

Hundreds dead for a small piece of ground.

  • @eistalon At the risk of offending you, I have to disagree. I love the song, love Pink Floyd and am also a serving soldier who has seen his fair share of operations. War is not pointless. Its a highly unpleasant neccessity given the right (wrong?) circumstances. To say war is pointless undermines the sacrifice of anyone who gave their life defending others. I have fought to preserve democracy and continue to do so in the knowledge that it may cost me my life.

    Just my 2 cents.

  • @Bhurzum I'm sick of people saying war is pointless, imperialism is bad, some wars save lives.

  • @kingsman565 Hear hear!

  • @eistalon I got chills when I read this comment. I'm sure your father was a great man, and even though I don't know him, I have the deepest respect for him. I also discovered Pink Floyd when I was teenager, and it helped me get through some really bad times. Good luck man and keep the spirit of the Floyd alive.

  • 6 people are in charge of the tiger cages in the Zoo.

  • @BdMdrFckr Haha, probably the best "number-of-dislikes" comments I've ever read.

  • @BdMdrFckr more like 6 people rode in a Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. E

    :P

  • "Kind old King George wrote mother a note when he hear that father was gone".

    it said

    Dear M-m-m-, Dear m-m-rss Wa-wa-wa, Mrs. Wa Waters. I am s-s-so-s-s-sorry to ha, to ha-ha-have to t-t-t-tell you th-th- t-to-to t-t-tell you th-th-is, b-b-b-but...

  • @chamberl

    Humorous, but also distasteful.......

  • @robbiejanderson Don't get me wrong. I love the song. Made some Flash animation to it.

  • I'll never understand WHY this song didn't end up on the studio version of the album. It is potentially one of the most moving tunes they ever made.

  • such a waste of men , I wonder , did the high command supply the rocks to throw at the tigers?

  • now if we could just get people to stop suspending logic when it comes to religion - maybe these conflicts would not have to happen

  • Eric Fletcher Waters was a member of Company Z...

  • The Ardenne offensive was a hopeless move, it only meant more bloodshed...

  • I dont think many could of made a video for this song and done it such justice. kudos to a job well done.

  • True story. PF dad killed by a panzer.

  • For some reason this song makes me feel patriotic even though I'm American...

  • @TheMetalmaniacX lol wtf this isnt a patriotic song dont be retarded

  • @Rnewmanguy weeeellllll i was high soooo

  • A sad song, but I still like it for some reason. Very brutal war as we all know

  • Im so sorry Roger . This made me cry for many years Your a strong man to sing your lyrics.

  • It's a song about MURDER plain and simple.

  • all them heroes fought for what we have today,so you dislikes are probobly insensitive arseholes, they must have been so scared :(

  • Excellent song, and your video does it fair justice.

Pity the (fortunately few) idiots whose comments miss the point entirely. The only excuse I can give for those from the US is that we were raised in an environment of ignorance and lies. Some took to ignorance with a zeal hardly imaginable, and they now think they know everything when the precise opposite is closer to the truth.

Hopefully efforts (like your own) to show the truth will change things eventually. In the meantime, thank you.

  • Beautiful song. A lot of posters below seem to think it's about honouring the Army, but it's about how flippantly incompetent generals treated human life, and in particular how Roger's dad was killed at Anzio due to the bungling High Command. And how the King couldn't even be bothered to sign the letter of condolence himself. This is an anti-war/anti-armed forces song!

  • @pongnose A lot of Waters' work is done out of protest, rather than honouring. I don't really understand why people don't get that. The lyrics make it all too clear if you ask me. :)

  • @pongnose Bravo, you hit the nail square on the head with that comment mate. :)

  • Great job on the video. Fantastic song.

  • This video is Heartbreakingly amazing! I always loved to hear this song while watching The Wall, but you have taken it and made it real. Thanks for that. Would love to know where you got the images. Loved it. Bless you.

  • If anyone thinks war is a game THINK AGAIN just listen to the words of this track this song touches me !!!!!!!!

  • It's not the reason why, but to do and die.

  • every soldier has a duty to accomplish. every man at one point has to fight for which he believes in right or wrong

  • .old rich man makes the order for war.with the money from the weapons we could make the hole planet green again...the universe waits for this time when the people on earth get together as one...we cant leave our home and we should work for this picture.my grandpa was in the wwII...he was allways near crying if i asked him about it.he tooked care of the horses who transport attlerie.he is years dead now.but i never forget his eyes if he talked about it...he was german.may we get peace on earth

  • fuck the hunn old men make wars young men fight and die in the wars

  • fuck the hunn

  • This is Roger's most soulful and meaningful lyric he ever wrote and sang, the passion and pain in his voice and in the lyrics is just moving, touching!

  • May they RIP

  • May they RIP

  • May they RIP

  • this should be included in one of the war games such as Call of Duty or even Halo Reach

  • @clix411 Fuck off.

  • @skovie23232 how bout no, faggot

  • @clix411 I'm glad they don't. If you look up "Sympathy for the Devil", you keep hearing how that was in Black Ops. I like both COD and Floyd, I'm glad they aren't together.

  • bigal who other than hitler do you like, your about as mixed up as the coctail of drugs your on,

  • such a shame dave gilmores son is the cnt swinging from the cenetaph. How can any son of a floyd band member claim they didnt know what the cenetaph is

  • Does anyone know if the orchestra version with the sound of the tank treads at the start is on you tube. Thanks

  • You guys know the story of this song right? he wrote it in memory of his father who did get killed when his company got overran in Italy.

  • Just saw Roger last week in Philly. Wish he'd of worked tigers in the wall....great job on the video! rock on joe boyd and the pink floyd!

  • @DentricSwifthonor ya i agree i saw the show in tampa... cuz the first time i ever heard the wall it was the movie so i always remember this song being the beginning...

  • Does anyone actually WATCH videos on youtube anymore? Or do they just come on here to argue?Though I have to admire it in a sick way.I don't believe in shit.

  • @mfnkingsnake Eh? When did they start showing videos? Are you talking about that damn ad they put at the top of the page? Those're so annoying. I prefer typing in random things into the search bar and arguing on whichever video tops the list.

  • @Joexi Lmao!

  • I am a Nationalist (pure Nazi, not kkk or skin head), and i love this song, i feel sorry for all the dead soldiers of Britain and the Wehrmacht , and i still hear some old vets alive how in Christmas eve the Hitler soldiers and the Allies stop fighting, and got out of their "fox holes" and hugged each other, in the Ardenia. Stop the hate against Nazi, don't be brainwashed by Zionist Illuminati, we are all Humans.

  • @BigAl4250 I'm not sure you understand what Nazi means. The Nazis stood for the eradication of Jews and for total Germanification of Europe. I know this because my family was there. Most of the men in my family served in the Wehrmacht. All them were killed or MIA in a Soviet gulag, thanks to the Nazis and Hitler's total war against everyone who wasn't "pure". The only survivors of the Nazis "wonderful" plan were my Mom, her mother, and her two aunts.

  • @jeng3000 I am sorry for your lost ones, they where Heroes of the Wehrmacht. National Socialism (NAZI in short) only goal is the Economical Independence of the Workers, Law and Order, not persecution of non-Germans, that is the biggest Lie told by Jewish Media, the Jews arrested where Zionist Scum choking the Economy. There was 150.000 aprox. Jews in Nazi forces, along with Arabs, Sikhs, Italians, Japanese, Blacks, Berbers etc. The Invasion of USSR was because Stalin was a dangerous rat.

  • @jeng3000 More people are Dying under Wars with Democratic Regimes we live on, i was in Sarajevo and Kosovo in 1999-2001, along with other NATO Countrymen. Israel is massacring women and children in Gaza and other Palestine areas, but they can do whatever they want because they where "victims", they tried that with Christ but failed there, guess it worked with Hitler and still does on many braiwashed. I can tell Hypocrisy when i smell it. Hitler was an un-selfish Man, and not Corrupt.

  • @BigAl4250 hitler was faggot.

  • @thecamelsalesman You are mistaken him with Michael Jackson or the Liberal there in USA, including you, Hippie tree huger.

  • @BigAl4250 hippie tree hugger?? fuck no im joining the airborne in a few months and im basically a fascist i just think hitler was an ignorant douche bag

  • @thecamelsalesman He was a visionary and a Hero of the West, unlike Imam Barrack Obongo in the White House.

  • @BigAl4250 he was an idiot. only an idiot would waste money on killing millions of civilians while fighting three superpowers at once. and all the white supremacy shit he was into was nonsense. he ran germany into the ground and we finished off whatever was left. germany has never risen again and probably never will

  • @thecamelsalesman Have you been to Germany? He took a Bankrupt starving Country to a Super Power in RECORD Time, and USA became stronger after the War, now it's rotting like He foreseen, a half Negrofied and Jewdyfied Country that is, not to mention the Obongo joke as president. No wonder the USA brightest men like Henry Ford gave him support, and USA most thank the Nazi Superior Scientists to make it a real Power, in Nasa and Warfare. Too bad you didn't adopt the social part too, no wonder...

  • @BigAl4250 You're hilarious.

    Nazi Superior Scientists?

I won't even bother to argue with you.

  • @BigAl4250 He was a psycopath and a dillusional, paranoid little man with a gift for oratory. You, you are simply a pathetic fool.

  • @BigAl4250 It's too bad that you love this song, because you appear to grasp the lyrics about as well as you grasp history. It's about how army generals, leaders and kings happily send ordinary people off to die for their wars. It's an anti-war song; and there's never been more of a murderous war economy than that of the Nazis.Where the hell is the Ardenia? Do you mean the Ardennes? Have you got any reference for this Xmas truce? The famous Xmas truce was in WW1. Hitler destroyed Germany.
