@figdmoney dude, that's not it. for example, my manager at work isn't medically qualified to fly but I still consider him a pilot. I will always consider him a pilot. When you become a pilot you are forever apart of the unique community in the world who can fly an airplane by themselves and share that experience with others. All I can explain is that it's like a ever growing family. That gentleman was saying being a pilot is not just an identity, it's apart of you.
