  • Wow. After being a music major and forced to objectively listen to music for three years I thought I'd hate music for the rest of my life, but after finding this band I'm completely back where I was before college. I feel like I can enjoy music again.

Getting a little high helped a bit, too.

  • recently discovered MMJ, similar like when I first discovered modest mouse...but better.

  • feeling for family

  • Great tune and a Great vid!

  • Ah haven't heard this song in over 4 years, felt so good to experience it again after so long.

  • my version is different...Why?

  • These lovely children are so pure.

  • All these kids is so beutiful :)

  • Well, the version on my album is listed as such. Just to clarify that so I don't have people gripping at me because I offended them.

  • This song is called death is my sleazy pay. I can't believe how many videos have it titled this way.

  • @HoboJones10 really because on iTunes it says Death is the easy way, but itunes could be wrong.

  • oh! These kids are awesome. so cute!

  • In soviet Russia, 240p is HD

  • This is awesome footage. Reminds me of pictures of my parents when they were little. I agree with 725bc, fantastic job match song with footage. Nicely done.

  • I only discoverd this band whilst watching American dad

  • finally somebody gets it death frees us its life that con-fine-$ us.

    woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow...who ..me?

  • Why do people insist on comparing new artists with past artists? Is it too hard to embrace your own generation? Do you not want to define a new musical era? I guess modern times are just too fast paced, we all have the attention span of a 10 yr old with "ADD". I saw MMJ at bonaroo and was blown away

  • i always get a vaugue musical whiff of modest mouse

  • This song reminds me of Bob Dylan. I guess the torch has been passed to Jim James now.

  • @jkidd972 Sounds a lot like Neil Young to me.

  • @FluffyBunniesOnFire funny my mum said the same thing to me!!

  • endure karma and die when is called.

  • Will have this played at my death.

  • makes me think of my mother!

  • this song is amazing and I love the video of the 40s the girl at the end is beautiful

  • nothing gets you high , you're bored the day you die , and alcohol only makes you tired

  • The most amazing thing is that most off these kids, if not all off them are already dead...

...yet somehow they have gained immortality with this video.

  • The most amazing thing is that most off these kids, if not all off them are already dead...

  • this song brings me to tears. so beautiful.

  • This video is amazing. Thank you so much, it is so beautiful and really fits this song.

  • Is this another stupid song about strength? All this ambition crap has to die. I respect anyone who made a song and got recorded. But aside from that is there a relevant message? It's more or less a song about judging people who kill themselves because they can't handle life, to me.

  • What an incredible song! And I love the video footage. I am guessing it is from the 1930's or 40's. For some reason it really works for me. I am a huge fan of old footage like this anyway so the song seems to support the sweet nostalgia of the footage. I really love what you did with this. Thx for putting it together and posting. I can't stop listening and watching it.

  • Pretty cool.

  • Love your use of the archive footage, your song selections, and how you put all this together. Thank you for sharing all this and keep up the good works.

  • Is too nice find out something that makes you feel and think about life, i never could forget this part of the song: ''Anything much sweeter would make me die'', PRICELESS.

  • Did you take these videos?

  • @Ardenella yes.

  • @terr0rkitten How far long ago? they look like theyre from the 50s

  • @Ardenella I'm sorry, I read take as make! No, I didn't take the video footage, I just used what I found. Sorry if my words were misleading!

  • @terr0rkitten its cool theyre nice anyway

  • @terr0rkitten Where'd you find the footage??

Any idea who took it?? And why??? Where was it taken??

  • @Ardenella I reckon these are older than 50's...they look like they're from the 30'3/40's...it's hard to tell.

  • @terr0rkitten this song is amazing and the footage of the 40s is so kool and the girl at the end of the video is beautiful

  • This is one of my favorite songs ! Just love it !

  • @woodmountain68 As a Jacket fan, you should be glad that so many people are discovering this band because of the show and giving it a shot. Jim and the band did give Seth permission to feature them for a reason.

  • All these Tennessee Fire and At Dawn songs make me cry a lot. They remind me of driving from California to South Carolina and back years ago. Such beautiful country. My childhood.

  • @woodmountain68 agreed. big points for seth macfarlane for being such a huge MMJ fan though,

  • Great song...poor comments lol.

  • this live414 guy must think it's still 1860. black people actually came to the US by force via white people you dumb shit. why don't you go jerk off to some fox "news" clips

  • That is what America looked like before the Jewish Communist led third world invasion of America, and every White Homeland on Earth.

This may shock some of you, but Europe used to be White too!

  • Are you for real?

    Jewish ppl arent white?

    You're against all other races?

    You're against immigration completely"?

  • @Live414 Keep your politics out of here old troll.

  • You serious?

  • You make me wish I wasn't white.

  • shouldn't this person be watching hank williams jr. or right wing propaganda clips by fox news or something?

  • epic troll

  • So what do you suggest we do? lol

    (I think ur kinda crazy)

  • a really optimistic song title lol!

  • enjoyed it so much.. thank you

  • wow...jimmy james doing it big time again,,,i usually hate these video renditions of songs, but you did just a wicked job in matching up the song with the video...cudos

  • Thank you, I appreciate that. I know that thyey can be a distraction - after all, the music is what it's all about.

  • I would love to know why some guy in the 1940's was standing on a sidewalk shooting random people in the 2nd half of this video. Must be a cool story.

  • hahahahhahahaha

  • terr0rkitten,

You did an amazing job on this video. I have shared it several times and everyone tells me it moves them to tears.

  • Thanks, the videos are for fun really, so, if others enjoy so much the better.

  • this video is so brilliant.

  • than you for this beautiful song one of the best jim james compositions in my opinion, did you put all the video together? if you did, great job

  • Thanks. Yeah, just a bit of stolen footage and a few minutes fiddling.

  • thank you for this song. thank you

  • awesome

  • I love the children in this video especially when the baby girl blows a kiss, stumbles, falls down and finds a leaf on the ground. Isn't that the way love is? we blow a kiss, stumble, and find something when we fall.

  • @jazzat12 I like that :D I think that is a beautiful thing you put here and its true

  • @jazzat12 Yep. And it looks great at the beginning.

  • @jazzat12 Yep, and it looks great at first....

  • I´m so glad that I visited your channel! I really like your taste in music :)

    Thanks for sharing!
