  • if u want to re-live these memories, google me and find out about me. Then it'll all make sense.

  • YOU OPEN THE LID. YOU ARE HORRIFIED TO FIND A FLOATER INSIDE

  • at least this game didnt have torches that constantly went out on you when you tried to find the way to go.

  • I hated this game, too hard for my young mind. I think my sister got stuck in the bathroom.

  • first song ftw

makes me feel like being at home, the fireplace is burning and all is peaceful and quite

  • one of the greatest NES games

  • it was scary when my brother played this game i have no point what goin with this game

  • This was a really confusing game.

  • Shadowgate and Deja Vu in my heart.

    Thanks!

  • The music is really fitting to the detective theme of the game.

  • i think this theme was used in shadowgate for the flute

  • I've been playing this game lately, too. The music kicks ass.

  • The composers of this, Uninvited and Shadowgate are Kouji Nishikawa and Masaomi Miura.

  • Sweet zombie Jesus. Finally someone delivers composer information for this trilogy.

    Much appreciated, thanks man.

  • Well I know because in Deja Vu 2 for the GameBoy Color, it shows the credits and Deja Vu 2 has the same ending music as Deja Vu for the NES and in the credits it had to people for the Sound. So it HAS to be them. And I know they did the Shadowgate and Uninvited music because just listen to them, the three games have identical music.

  • That's some fine deducin' Tex. Makes sense to me.

  • @garudoh Do you have any info on Sword of Hope for Game Boy? The music for that was spot on the same as well (as was the point and click aspect).

  • I jumped ans screamed a lot when i finally finished this game.. when going to the police with all the evidence.. one of mis happiest days in my life ...

  • @LordGianotti --me tooooo. I had to read online about how to finish cos i never figured out i had to throw out all the evidence in the sewer then go to the cops..lol. I kept going straight to the cops and getting put in jail.

  • Ever since video 1 of Garudoh's playlist I've been hoping to hear Deja Vu.

  • Sonny Rollins' "Alfie's Theme". Basically.

  • Anyone ever notice that the opening notes of the first song in this vid are the same ones from the flute melody from Shadowgate (when you use the flute)?

  • Yes. I talked about that in my walkthrough.

Seriously, Deja vu deserves a remake on the Wii or something.

  • If not a remake, then a sequel. The Wii is perfect for this sort of gameplay. I bet we'll just get another junky mini-game collection, though (who is buying those, anyway?).

  • Yes, exactly! Enchanted remakes for the whole series (Shadowgate, Uninvited, Deja vu 1 and 2) for Wii ware would be AWESOME! As far as I know, that isn't possible, unfortunately :(

  • Tossing your original gun into the sewer... took me days to figure that out.

  • When I was a kid I could always beat Shadowgate and Uninviteds but not this one. never did figure it out.

  • As someone whos lived in Chicago his entire life, I must say that this Windy City adventure kicks all kinds of ass!

I love these games in general though, especially games like Shadowgate and even Snatcher if you wish to consider that in this category.

  • Great memories playing this on my Atari 1040 ST.

  • Great game, great music. This game was just sheer brilliance. It's right up there in my top 10.

  • Damn it's good to see other people appreciate the music in this game as much I do

  • OH YES my first text based adventure!!!

    it was SOOOOO FUN

i died like three times(dassalot frthis game)

    -hero

  • this music still gives me goosebumps... especially the music that plays when you are recalling everything you forgot from your amnesia. every time i figured out how to get to a new part it would give me goosebumps at age 10. one of my top 5 favorite games..

  • guy, you need to make a website with all these classic themes. vgmusic. com's .midi files just arn't good enough!

  • I have a site, but it's mostly just a rearrangement of the stuff I have here. It does have links to direct downloads though, so if you're trying to track some of this down, I recommend you check out the main description on my channel page. Enjoy.

  • Best game ever, with greats songs :)

  • thing on the video looks like a giant di....in a bathroom, but the music is nice lol.

  • the first song was very catchy and apparently

    still is!

  • Never played this game before, but im lovin the music. It conveys some great atmosphere, despite using like,3 channels of sound.

  • i used to never be able to beat this game >:[

  • although this game was just 8-bit, it had a great gritty scummy atmosphere to it that fit it perfectly. the music had a large part to do with it!

  • ah man I love the music in this game Deja Vu seriously rocks.

  • Oh man, I HAVE to agree, kupo. O_O. This game is serious win. Including the music. Like the first and third tracks in this video. Heh.

  • Nice. I was going to ask what that other textbook game for the NES was (that is exactly like this... gameplay-wise), but you put it in the tags. Lol :D

  • Errr, gameplay and layout-wise.

  • There's even a third game in the pseudo-trilogy called Uninvited, which I think was released between this one and Shadowgate.

  • O_o

Sweet. Thanks. Gonna check it out.

By the way, since you've uploaded 2 of them, why not upload a video (with the music) of Uninvited, then? :)

  • Yuh-huh. I was thinking about it, although its music maybe isn't considered as good as the two others, I'll probably make the video soon.

  • Ah, sweet anyway.
