The GTR and ZR1 are both great cars. I really like them both. I would say the ZR1 is faster. But for some reason, I have a huge amount of respect for the GTR. I mean it's a friggin' Nissan with Super car lap times! But there's nothing I can argue about.
thats why it takes 150 more hp, 500lbs lighter, and a much larger engine to beat the GTR by .3s around the greatest test track of all time, the Nurburging. much more money, shitty interior, low build quality and nothing to show for it on the track? seems like a big waste of money to me. Yes the ZR1 beats the GT-R (slightly), but at what price? It's 50,000$ more, it only has 2 seats, it has 170bhp more, it weighs a LOT less and it's only 0.3 seconds faster around the nurburgring. If I had the money I'd buy a GT-R, then buy an optional switzer p800 or HKS tuning package and have myself one hell of a ride, and it would still be cheaper than the ZR1. Handling is a very hard thing to argue, because when it comes down to it the driver is all that matters. I've seen a 68' Charger out handle a Lotus Exige (Bullrun TV show) and it was all cause even though the Exige had all this fancy handling stuff, the Charger's driver could still out-handle the Lotus just because he knew exactly how to make the car do what he wanted it to do.
Besides if the ZR1 has worse handling (by definition) yet still won what's that say about the GTR? lol

The ZR1 (and the Z06) both have a computer controled launch control. I own an 06 Z06 and it is fun to drive, but regardless of computers or what ever you want to call it, it is still part of the car. So if it helps or hurts that is part of the car. Fact is the ZR1 cost over $25K more so it should win. Well I know alot about bouth the ZR1 & the ZO6, & I've never heard of a LC from factory. I think ur mistaken LC for TC, or shock dampening adjustments for better weight trasfer. That couldn't be more different from a LC system. GTR's LC does everything for u from suspension adjustments, throttle rev control, adjustable clutch slipping, progressive turbo boost control. All regardless of the drivers imputs, the driver is obsolete. ZR1, or ZO6 have nothing like that. The driver is still responsible
for everything except adjusting the dampening or bound of the MR suspension or killing the power if the TC is on. TC doesn't have anything to do with getting a fast launch..typically, like 100% of the time it actually it handicaps the driver from getting quick times. So unless somehow I missed reading about this so called LC system in the ZR1 & ZO6 in the dozens of internet sites to handful of magazines I've read or ur talking about the dampening adjustment for Launching. If so there's no
similarities between the two. My original point is it's no where near as fast, in any aspect. It's easier to drive @ the limit, but so is a WRX or a Civic. The GTR has a full titanium exhaust and a COBB tunning computer. That is it. The Z06 does not have anything done to it. I didn't do much to them because I am spending a lot on some projects including a 700whp 240Sx. Cars are my down fall as I own 10 of them. seriously. Not all are "HOT" though. they run from an F150 to an 06 Gallardo SE with everything inbetween. Have a day bro.

Jim Mero is the Chevy engineer that drove the ZR1 for the 7:26.4 official lap time. He said that he made several mistakes on that lap. Even if Magnussen's unofficial lap is a complete fabrication, given his experience as a Corvette racer and the amount of time he has spent going around Nordschleife, Jan would have a good chance to keep the current ZR1 competitive against the Toshio Suzuki piloted Series II GTR V Spec.

If that is true you would have to add about two seconds to the GTR's official time to get an idea of it's standing start time. Do you have a source for that rolling start info? thats why it takes 150 more hp, 500lbs lighter, and a much larger engine to beat the GTR by .3s around the greatest test track of all time, the Nurburging. much more money, shitty interior, low build quality and nothing to show for it on the track? seems like a big waste of money to me. Yes the ZR1 beats the GT-R (slightly), but at what price? It's 50,000$ more, it only has 2 seats, it has 170bhp more, it weighs a LOT less and it's only 0.3 seconds faster around the nurburgring. If I had the money I'd buy a GT-R, then buy an optional switzer p800 or HKS tuning package and have myself one hell of a ride, and it would still be cheaper than the ZR1. I don't hate the ZR1, I love it actually. I'm just getting sick of all the fags saying 'lolol gtr sucks zr1 is always king'

Handling is a very hard thing to argue, because when it comes down to it the driver is all that matters. I've seen a 68' Charger out handle a Lotus Exige (Bullrun TV show) and it was all cause even though the Exige had all this fancy handling stuff, the Charger's driver could still out-handle the Lotus just because he knew exactly how to make the car do what he wanted it to do.
Besides if the ZR1 has worse handling (by definition) yet still won what's that say about the GTR? lol

(Computer) everythings computer numbers clutch (computer) VDC aka LC (computer) So in perspective the GTR is a computer generation car that IMO loses almost all it's class, & spirit. The GTR isn't almost as fast in any way. The driving experence is watered down just to get good number..which u can't use anyways unless u want to void the warranty. ur looking at the times. 12.2 that's a so so time in Z06. GTR w LC in Edmunds test: 1/4miile-11.77 w/o LC 12.2 thats a difference of .43 nearly half

Now if Corvette wanted to jump on the "bandwagon" since it's not a AWD would it gain or lose an advantage b/c of it's traction limited RWD set up w/ a high end LC system? The ZR1 (and the Z06) both have a computer controled launch control. I own an 06 Z06 and it is fun to drive, but regardless of computers or what ever you want to call it, it is still part of the car. So if it helps or hurts that is part of the car. Fact is the ZR1 cost over $25K more so it should win. I have done very little to my GTR (Cobb and full exhaust) & I am running a 10:8 1/4 and 0-60 in almost 3 flat. Total I have about $90K into it for thoese number which you have to admit are impre

Well I know alot about bouth the ZR1 & the ZO6, & I've never heard of a LC from factory. I think ur mistaken LC for TC, or shock dampening adjustments for better weight trasfer. That couldn't be more different from a LC system. GTR's LC does everything for u from suspension adjustments, throttle rev control, adjustable clutch slipping, progressive turbo boost control. All regardless of the drivers imputs, the driver is obsolete. ZR1, or ZO6 have nothing like that. The driver is still responsible

I also almost never just take my car(s) to the drags, but what I am talking mainly about is the circuit tracks. The Z06 w/o the TC on on the circuits here (Hallett, Heartland Park KS) is much slower. It is eaiser to power out of a corner with it on. But it is fun, My GTR spanks it on the circuit track. Sorry agin. PS: nothing is stoping Chevey from putting LC on their cars.

The GTR has a full titanium exhaust and a COBB tunning computer. That is it. The Z06 does not have anything done to it. I didn't do much to them because I am spending a lot on some projects including a 700whp 240Sx. Cars are my down fall as I own 10 of them. seriously. Not all are "HOT" though. they run from an F150 to an 06 Gallardo SE with everything inbetween. Have a day bro.

man what a thing to say to someone you don't even know. I only said I had eight cars because I was making a comparison NOT to put anyone down. I am not better than anyone, but neither are your or the next person. I have just found my way to make it. I love giving people rides and even letting them drive. are impresive. With ZERO tranny problems and 8K miles. Every one says they have problems but there have been so many tuned GTRs out there by so many people and companies with out problems. One or two people can post a blog somewhere and its the gospel truth.
I am a lover of all fast cars (my colection proves that) but I hate it when people dis this or that just because its what they like.

Jim Mero is the Chevy engineer that drove the ZR1 for the 7:26.4 official lap time. He said that he made several mistakes on that lap. Even if Magnussen's unofficial lap is a complete fabrication, given his experience as a Corvette racer and the amount of time he has spent going around Nordschleife, Jan would have a good chance to keep the current ZR1 competitive against the Toshio Suzuki piloted Series II GTR V Spec.

The only time what that car done for now is 1:02:4 on the Tsukuba Circuit. It was slower then the normal GT-R 1:01.94 but the Spec V did it on a wet track.

y do u guys always diss on car mags but always end up quoting them. So if there were no car mags then i would think there would be no FLD, u guys need some real car ppl on your show who actually have driven some of the cars they talk about n do some of their own research and testing. atleast the mags test most of the cars they write about. FLD tours is horrible btw, give better reviews. u need to step ur game up before i'd consider giving up motor trend for this crap. and ur jokes are corny.

I heard the same thing, that Nissan used a rolling start for the GTR's Nurburgring time. If that is true you would have to add about two seconds to the GTR's official time to get an idea of it's standing start time. Do you have a source for that rolling start info? I would like to use it in future debates.
