A standard vacuum wouldn't have enough power to create a complete vacuum in a jar. Another obstacle would be sealing off any air from returning into the jar. Even if a vacuum cleaner had enough power to create a vacuum in a bottle, the vacuum hose would have to have a valve in it to prevent air from rushing back into the bottle.
