Skrivis was a word he used along with bloofus and a few other words. This is a great tribute to George. He really was an amazing guitar player as everyone can tell listening to this. I played with George in the early 80's when it was Big George and the Nighthawks. Enjoyed playing with the band and enjoyed travelling around the country. Thanks George. Met George in Calgary and Red Deer. Awesome entertainer. Thanks for posting this. Somehow there is a Lenny Breau connction and I could never figure it out because in the Lenny Breau book there is no mention of him. Anyone have any comments?
@MrEbarraclough I had some pictures somewhere here at home of George and Jack with Lenny in the motel room a hundred years ago, if i could find them i would send you copies.
@MrEbarraclough Very few people know this but Lenny Breau's real name was Harold Pine Jr. His father was known as Hal Lone Pine from "downeast" Maine USA. That's how George knew him. As a youngster Lenny (Hal Lone Pine Jr.) he played bass for his dad. George would sometimes sit in with them on their weekly TV show. Betty Cody was Lenny's mother. I hope this helps.
I met Big Geo when Jack rivers was playing bass, they were good, the good life was tooo good.

I agree. George once told me "I taught Lenny everything he knew."
My recording of the Claw which was done in the same session as this selection.
George's reference to Jim Smith in Wildwood Flower is hilarious. Jim is the bass player on the session and had been playing with George for years.

Lenny played guitar for his parents not bass. Pine was from Pea Cove Me. just
outside Old Town ME. Lenny left Pine and Betty around 1959,that's when Pine
slapped Lenny across the face for improvising on stage
