  • Easier shaft swap if you need longer!

  • your title is misleading i thought you meant o whole nother world of joints

  • Hypnotizing.

  • is there a maximum angle at which universal joints are effective?

  • @argghhhh1 - Yes, but I don't happen to know what it is.

Also, traditional universal joints don't translate speed properly when bent, and this problem gets progressively worse as the angle increases.

Newer CV joints always translate speed right, but they probably still have a maximum angle.

  • you can clearly see why the constant velocity joint was invented: look at the way the output end changes in speed on these universal joints and top double cardone. Not good for big angles and lots of torque.

  • @trahcceb way to rip off an entire video on constant velocity joint.....

  • @KLsemperFi7 ahem, mister I recieved one of your comments regarding my comments on this uni joint. Have a good look at what is happening here. Do you see that over a full revolution of a universal joint that the input will maintain a constant velocity - speed at which its turning. On the other hand the output is changing ever 90degrees of ever full revolution, slower then faster, slower then faster. The double carden is actually constant velocity, but its issues are in the dual pivot point.

  • @trahcceb i removed it... i didnt want to write it... i knew i had mispkoen, i cancelled it, but it must have sent anyways, my apologies

  • '

black is a rubber or steel

  • it doesn't look like it should work somehow :P

  • id like to try the top one on my cj5.

where may i find one or two-

  • the top one is similar to a double cardone joint used on most 4x4 front driveshafts. most all jeeps and full size trucks use this because you can get twice the angularity (about 60*) before binding, vs a regular u joint on the bottom (used in nearly every multi-angular drive besides cv and double cardone), which can only take about 30* movement. yes, it's very mezmerizing, and makes my brain hurt too, but they're everywhere on just about every vehicle imaginable, and in every industry.

  • This thing's givin me a headache. Please tell me this is cg animation so I can go to sleep.

  • @Stockpile1 Nope, it's real, i don't think someone would even add an electric motor to the left axles if it was an animation...

  • Thx ... Also we can use them for cars

Or tape :" universal joints wiki " on google ..

  • the top one is interesting

  • Plz where can we use Those U-joints???

  • we can use them for a steady cam for example

type in youtube steady cam ;)
