Never realized this, but when E.E. mentioned an experiment to give GW the ability to judge situation scheduled around the time of the attack on the Big Shell: the attack didn't disrupt the experiment, it WAS the experiment! The Colonel's rambling about how the S3 program wasn't about turning Raiden into the next Solid Snake, but replicating the most stressful situation (Shadow Moses) to shape Raiden into the new viewpoint through which all information is processed makes perfect sense now! :O

Think of it not so much as blatant censorship but rather a subtle altering of facts to serve an agenda. Now... in Metal Gear timeline, MGS2 takes place in 2011. And what does this video talk about? CENSORING THE NET! Konami/Hideo Kojima and the crew basically predicted the future 10 years ago. "Stop Online Piracy Act"? More like "Sons of the Patriots Act" This is kind of ironic, and somewhat scary.

When I first played the game I was quite dissapointed with the storyline, which I felt to be too weird... But come to think of it, it was really a good story, filled with profound themes and even prophetic visions of the future. I guess Kojima was largely misunderstood at the time by many people (including me)...
