This almost has more of a Jeff Beck feel to it than Jimmy. If you tacked this track onto the end of Blow by Blow I don't think anyone would have been able to tell ;)
Correct! Yet another example of how Jimmy isn't afraid to lift stuff from anybody lol. Terribly simple stuff here but he just nails it. Very moving piece. I've always loved the combination of rock and classical music, even opera (Queen). The pomp of rock seems to blend well with the power of orchestral music. Wish there was more of this around...
@MfPing I know it's by chopin but why does the album credit: prelude- j. page? I love zeppelin but does this guy steal everyone's work and pass it as his own?
@fairyfellermaster hahaha i know what you mean, but you are allowed to copyright arrangements of songs, even if it a song which has already been written. He probly got credit for arranging this song for guitar etc.
@likerollinstone Actually, you can copyright an arrangement of a public domain work and you will be recognized as the copyright owner of the arrangement, as if it was an original work. This is allowed by the Berne Convention.
@fairyfellermaster he doesnt pass it off as his own - he is so deeply rooted in music from his perspective it should be obvious its chopin, in the same way salvador dali assumed it was obvious his moustachioed mona lisa was based on an original my leonardo da vinci.
@multitudinal good point. So you'd say that if I did the same thing he did & arranged kashmir for the ukelele I can credit kashmir as my composition? I mean it's obvious that it's a zepelin piece. It's only fair.

Best Rock Movie score...Jimmy taps in to a deep sadness as an artist beyond the socio-political problems of our time. He's the greatest!

Can you find a link to the original of this piece? I would love to hear the original.

@fairyfellermaster Chopin has been around for 150 years, it would be sad if people didnt know who he was.

@MfPing plus a little arrangement and improvisation by Jimmy Page, of course ;)

I have this on Vinyl LP, bought it around 20 years ago for a few quid from Reckless Records (Second Hand) in London.
I wonder how much it's worth now? (Not that i'm selling!).
