Racket size or weight does not matter. All those tennis prodigies from older days used far heavier wooden rackets and they turned out to be fine. He will learn how to properly transfer his own weight to his racket swing to strike the ball - this will come naturally since he does not yet have brute stength to do otherwise. But having said that, 15 hour a week seems too much for his age. There are other things a kid should be doing at his age.
ya but the question is can he rally and play points with those same strokes? Probably not unless he used the appropriate racket size, ball and court size. Because whats the point if you cant actually play tennis? But still has good strokes. Impressive.
@aldsports Dude, he's 4 and already hits the ball perfectly.. Give the kid a couple of years on the court playing several matches and he'll be able to play amazing points..
The point is, he DOESN'T hit the ball perfectly. I'm not saying he should, but using non modified equipment is really hurting his progression. Almost everything is out of the strike zone, his follow through is terrible as a result and these will have to be corrected as he gets older.
Not the kids fault, he's a freak and should be proud. But his dad needs to get him some red balls and a smaller racquet. Seriously, spend $50 and save hundreds of hours of retraining his swing pattern
He would benefit from a smaller sized racquet, and a smaller court and slower tennis balls. It's called quick start tennis or 10 and under tennis and it's sweeping the nation and getting kids to be able to keep the ball in play and develop better skills because they don't have to battle to see over the net, Think about it, Do 5 year old soccer players play on a regulation size soccer field with the big soccer nets like the pros use? Nope, same thing with little league and kids basketball
Wow, so many kids overhyped on here but this kid is the real deal. Struggling with the weight of the racket but still hitting perfectly. Brilliant that he's on a full court and I hope he keeps it like that. Only concern is he's so advanced for his age competition in peers may become warped. I hope he goes to the top! Slaínte
cute kid....dang! he's good...i played tennis for 3 years..but i havn't seen something like this...awesome!!! he'll be the next federer!!!lol...and one more thing...the racquet is bigger than him lol....
