I loved this footage. It is rare to see Babe Ruth choke up on the bat as he did in one of his at bats(he, like Rogers Hornsby, held the bat down at the knob even with two strikes, which was unusual back then). This was the Series that Ruth became the first hitter in World Series history to hit 3 homers in one game. Two of those blows traveled over 500 feet.Babe Ruth (for a 2nd time in the`28 Series) and Reggie Jackson are the only players to duplicate this feat.
The Babe beat himself up over the off season about his World Series in 26 and when the kids cried about the Yankees loss the Babe cried too, but in 27 the Babe cranked it up a notch or two being on the best team ever. It just seems like yesterday.
This is the only World Series which ended on a caught stealing. Game 7, two outs, bottom of the 9th, the score 3- 2, the Cards ahead. Babe Ruth walked with two outs and was caught trying to steal 2nd base for the 3rd and final out of the 1926 World Series.
At 1:10 why does Gehrig have a different color cap than Ruth?

Cards were the only NL team to stop the Yankees during their first dynasty. Up until the 50's no NL team could except the Cards.

@brianwells456comcast Adrian Beltre of the Texas Rangers just did it in the 2011 ALDS against Tampa Bay in game 4.

Some more footage I have never seen before. Good shot of Ruth going to the opposite field. I also didn't know Alexander pitched Game 6.

@gtomark71 This is the best WS. Seven full games against the Yankees in their prime with a Red Birds victory.

@Luigi84289 The 1928 Series was much better.
