@MegaGoodoldtimes you cant really say that nirvana are over rated when if it wasnt for nirvana, soundgarden would of been stuck in seattle forever, i do agree that soundgarden are amazing and alice in chains are awesome but none of them would of gotten anywhere without nirvana, loads of bands got signed just because they were looking for another nirvana, you should check out love battery tho, they are probly my favourite of all the grunge bands

@LaughingWater2 Both Soundgarden and AIC were signed to majors before 'Nevermind' hit. AIC's Facelift was a success before Nirvana broke big. Nirvana definitely gave a wider audience for these bands but I wouldn't say none of them wouldn't have gotten anywhere without Nirvana. There are plenty of other bands that got signed primarily because of Nirvana but not the extremely talented Soundgarden and AIC
