  • I now actually think it's bizarre eating dead corpses, human or not, or serving it to your loved ones. Like; welcome to the Adams family. lol

  • La amo...

  • All I have to say

"Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork."

  • SHE WAS GREAT AS BATGIRL! I WANT TO SEE HER WITH CLOONEY AND O'DONNELL AGAIN!

  • i would love to become a vegetarian but I despise vegetables for the most part.. I would only be eating pasta, fruit, potatoes, and corn lol .. I would be severely malnutrition-ed .. but I want to try to go without meat for a week and see how i feel ....

  • @PiinkBunniie IT IS FUNNY, BUT MY DAD'S MOM ALWAYS ATE EXPIRED FOOD BECAUSE SHE DID NOT LIKE WASTING FOOD AND NEVER SUFFERED FROM MALNUTRITION.

  • Love her, lover her book, but CAN NOT stand Peta!

  • You cant escape from aging and of course from dying , no matter what you eat even snakes ,bugs ,important diseases just harcoded to your dna and today we dont know what are these and how to change it like changing it 1 to 0 ,live your life eat what you like to further than that just overwhelm your life.

  • I've been a veggie for two years and in two years i've gotton sick about four times, usually for a day or a day and half max. When i was a meat eater i was getting chest infections every year and i didn't have a consistent weight, now i'm a consistent weight and i feel so much better in myself, most ppl i know who eat meat are obese, diabetic, or have many other health problems, mostly brought on by weight issues.

    Go veggie please xx

  • she's the sweetest thing on earth...so warm-hearted i just love you girl!

  • Mass produced meat is horrifying- the saying "if abbatoirs had glass walls" is so true, and watching the 1984 version of "V" , the sci-fi series, made me think about how it would feel to be turned into a meal. Then again, I know that people in places like SE Asia & South America have turned to eating spiders & snakes because of war , famine & drought, so methinks food prejudice is wrong - its ignorance & sloth that fuels the mass meat market. Learn to cook & shop for local produce !

  • She still looks really young, wow what a beautiful woman.

First of all, I drink alcohol about once a year. I'm 38 and I still get carded when I try to buy a beer at a concert. Most people guess that I am 25 years old.

    I've been a vegetarian for 17 years. :p

  • the "food snob" aspect shows she's part of the problem, not the solution

  • Damn, and I just went and Spent $600.00 on a kick ass Bar B Q Grill too !!!!!

  • @JetRanger0007 Vegan burgers and sausages are AWESOME. Go nuts.

  • Dear PETAofficial, I'd think from a PETA POV, and from my own -- anyway, i'd've preferred if Alicia emphasized the Kindness aspect. Not that it wasn't a good interview, but clearly that softening angle was missing. Even framing what she did say within how the kindness that veganism extends outwards redounds positively back to the self, to the life, beyond merely sustaining it, disease-free, into thriving. But thanks. This is great as it is, too.

  • SHE WENT TO MY MIDDLE SCHOOL! :D

  • meat is part of our diet, get it through your heads

  • @kylehall44 How do you purport to sustain life by eating death? So yeah, meat is part of "our" die-it. Get that thru your head

  • @kylehall44

What I don't get through my head is why you watched this video...

    Is your life that boring?

Oh yeah, boredom is part of our life...I will try to get that through my head...

  • @kylehall44 No more meat running through my head any more. What a relief. No more clogging of my brain arteries.

  • What makes me sad, is the cause of these diseases literally is the food we eat. Animal products are just so toxic to our bodies. But to reverse these illnesses, all one needs to do is go on a plant-based diet. And then, their bodies begin to heal.

And even though more and more people are becoming aware of this - there is still an industry of billions of dollars, directed toward using animals as "test subjects," horrifically abusing them. For diseases we cause and could cure, just by our diet.

  • She looks a bit like Meg Ryan up close. =D

  • her dead line is now! I love her but she has gone kukealoops after clueless and wanted 1mill to do another aerosmith vid, I am so sad she got a big head....redeam yourself...clueless part 2 or new music vid...that musical movie sucked ass! and just because the laytex bat girl mask pulled your hair did not give you the rite to rape her likeness...you were chubby and blonde.....yes I cannot spell for shit....get it together girl...make a comeback...I miss you

  • 'I seemed to be glowing'

MASSIVE spot on her forehead hahaha

and no that doesn't mean I don't agree with vegetarianism, I just think she's being ridiculously hyperbolic...getting younger? Oh come on

  • @Katelikesmusic maybe what she means that she feels younger,:)

  • @Katelikesmusic huh? that's genetic its not a zit

  • Eating veggies doesn't make you younger. That's just completely misleading. The only physical way to stop growing older is to go into outerspace, where there is no gravity.

  • Can a vegan develop cancer? Yes, but 100 people on a typical vegan diet would experience less morbidity and mortality than 100 on a standard American diet. Plant-based diets are beneficial to humans, not just animals. Better health: check. Animal agriculture=green house gases (United Nations, 2006), dangerous occupation > harms & exploits workers (Chicken, Striffler; Slaughterhouse, Eisnitz), 76 million food poisonings and 5,000 yearly deaths (CDC). Chris Hirschler, Ph.D., CHES

  • Diets never really work. Portion control :)

  • @KomicTurtle I think you don´t really know what the vegan life- and foodstyle means. it´s more than eating other things! GO VEGAN....for the Planet

  • @KomicTurtle Diets do work, people are just to lazy and uncommitted to make them work.

  • @KomicTurtle beeing vegan isn't a "diet", it's lifestyle.

  • immediately after seeing this video (which was literally 2 minutes ago) i went to amazon and ordered the book!

  • Good for you, Alicia.

  • i love you, Alicia!!!!! 4EVR!!!!!!!!

  • so, is she a vegan or vegetarian ?

  • Replace the word vegan with religion and you've got a video for scientology or some other sect. So amazing ... not really.

  • @CamelClass that has to be the most asinine comment i have ever read. being a vegan is not about joining a sect! it is about making a lifestyle choice that only has a positive impact on yourself, the thousands of animals you save not eating them and the enviromnent. if you didin't want to hear alicia's opinion on being a vegan then why even click on the video??

  • @CamelClass replace the word vegan for meat eater and you get the same.

  • Why doesn't she say "I'm Alicia Silverstone and I'm a vegan" Instead of "vegetarian"?

  • @esperd I don't know about Alicia Silverstone to know whether either of these potential reasons R the reason, but either she's still got leather or another item or 2 of that nature, or it's just the aversion many vegetarians have 2calling themselves vegan 'cause of the association many people have in their minds of antisocial, deeply irritable, cranky vegans that can B as much a disgrace 2humanity as speciesists 'cause they associate being humane as incompatible with humanism in their behaviour.

  • @revdrmartincisneros interesting point ! It's exactly when some eco politics sound like eco terrorists...Hearing them makes you wanna spot the moment where they're gonna betray themselves saying : "Humans deserve to die a lot more than animals !" ha ha

  • she's beautiful inside and out!

  • what about a lowfat raw vegan diet for optimal health? My husband is an athlete and had major benefits from being a fruitarian. check out his website called the fruitarian. It took me a while to finally go vegan, but now I am. I don't think that being vegan cooked is that healthy, but it is better than eating animals. This is a very good message to get the word out. Good for her! This is the way to get into good health.

  • @vicky2c

I'm transitioning from vegan to raw at the moment. I'd say I'm about 75-80% at the moment.

I firmly believe that rawism is the way. I couldn't be a frutarian though as I love my leafy greens too much but I certainly respect it!

    =)

  • im sorry but we are carnivors and umm its in our nature she looks like she is so tired and lacks vitamins and things she needs she looks like she is going to die

  • @ilovesteve7 We aren't carnivores you idiot, we can live very well without meat. For the record, we're biologically omnivores. At least know what you're talking about.

  • I love animals but I also love eating meat. Especially meat with fat and grissle attached. Despite this I always have a voice in the back of my mind telling me to stop being a hyprocrite and become a vegetarian. I've tried many times to adopt a vegetarian lifestyle, and my longest run was 10 weeks where I lost 20kgs, but the cravings eventually overide the virtue.

  • @CampbellxxPisces

Find something to overcome the craving. What I mean is, you should watch the movie Earthlings or read some books on the truth behind factory farming. It will change your entire mentality. If you can find a motive powerful enough, you can abstain from meat eating. I remember being 7 or 8 and eating meatloaf thinking "This isn't right." But I didn't do anything about it till I turned 14 and went vegetarian. I've been a veg head for 4 years and love it. You really do feel better.

  • i have her book and it opened my eyes to a new world

  • I really love her for the way she sees the world ..I need to get that book..

  • of course you feel lighter not eating meat........it takes a lot of energy to digest meat and it weighs you down......

  • I was a vegan for 5 years, from the ages of 17 to 22, but I fell off the wagon while spending a year in Poland as an exchange student 2-3 years ago. Since then I've regressed to a fish-eating vegetarian. Seeing this reminds me of how much better I felt physically as a vegan. Might be time to really make an effort again.

  • @byan85 The amount of mercury in fish would surprise you, Mercury cases many negative things to the body. And now with the recent oil spill I really don't understand how anyone could eat sea food.... Trust me fish aint as healthy as people say it is.

  • i had crush on her!!!!!! i still love u !!!!!

  • I'm inlove with this book it's changed my life!!!

  • True. My ex boyfriend's mom is diabetic but she would eat cheese burgers and Mexican sweet bread like a slob. Ugh

  • hahaha pause at 0:29

  • I'm vegetarian, but I don not judge people whther they eat meat or not. Wwhatever they choose is cool. Cause I live in a household that eat meat and I am the single one who does not. But personally eating meat is gross. But whatever your tastebuds like, that's people's choice.

  • crazyladyteacher you can get meat that is outside of the factory farm system by looking for meat in it's natural wrappers. Become a hunter, or become a good friend of one. It is amazing how fat free, healthy and tasty natural meat can be. Their is nothing wrong with eating meats, it is part of the natural food chain. Even humans become worm food eventually.

  • "The topic is vegan and shes talking about some little party" whatever

  • Why you didnt' mention you're a peta mamber on Oprah? Are you embarrassed or something?

  • Silverstone is a very active member of PETA. All you have to do is check out the peta web site and type in her name. You will find her.

  • I would be, they're media whores.

  • because of all the crazy shit Peta Does. I didn't know they were actually cool. I thought they just attacked people!

  • she must be one of those weirdos that thinks that eating a vegan diet can treat cancer

  • Many cancers are actually caused by all the crap that is in our food - the antibiotics, the growth hormones, the pesticides...Those things are not natural for our bodies to deal with. Eating a cleaner diet, and I do believe that can include meat that is not part of our factory farm system, can prevent us from getting many disease, including cancer.

  • @crazyladyteacher

Your wrong about meat. It's obvious that factory farming is WAY worse because of all the ADDED chemicals and hormones like you mentioned but thake science (biology) into account. Humans are designed as herbivorves, same digestive system, intestines, and jaws. ANY meat is fat (even so-called lean meat) and does nothing but rot inside us release toxins, not too mention sticking to our arteries and clogging them. The NATURAL hormones are also quite bad. Dont against nature

  • @ChilenoPiscean22

Humans are designed as Omnivores! Given with the fact that we have digestive enzymes naturally produced in our bodies that break down meat to release the minerals and even more simple, our incisors and canines are teeth with functions specifically to tear meat apart. Your vision is binocular based which is a naturally predatory evolution so. Not only that, but we can't break down most green plants while more Herbivore animals can... hmm... think about that!

  • @TheRichieEffect I would like to see you run after a cow, take it down, tear it apart, and eat it's bloody flesh, all with your bare hands.

  • @TheRichieEffect That's the most intelligent comment I have heard on Veganism, ever. THANK YOU!

  • @TheRichieEffect You're right, biologically we are omnivores and not herbivores but we eat edible parts of the plant. However, we aren't efficient omnivores and can live fine without meat and it takes more time to digest meat than vegetables and fruit.

  • She´s gorgeous and smart!

  • I have the book~ Amazing love~ love~ alicia

  • a female version of Brian Mcfadden

  • She looks the same as she did in Clueless, I think. There was a time she put on a bit of weight. Now that she's vegan, she looks fantastic! i was a meat eater for so long and now am vegetarian and hope to be vegan in the future. Besides my son, it's the best thing I've ever done!

  • @buffy2347

Alicia silverstone actually looked really good with a little extra weight imho. The last movie I thought she looked good in was blast from the past. Thats probably because it was filmed the year she became vegan. Anything after that she looks strange, kind of emaciated. She doesen't look like she did in clueless, which is why she's gone from bombshell status to alicia who?

  • She's so well-spoken and beautiful. Love her!

  • Does she have fake teeth? They don't look real, I don't know why.

  • Meat-eaters like to make the argument that life is short and they want to live life to the fullest. For them, part of that is eating the animal products that they enjoy so much. And there is truth to that - life IS short. Therefore, we OWE it to ourselves to do everything we can to feel the best that we can so that we are able to enjoy our lives even more than we ever imagined was possible. No meat tastes as good as vegan feels. That's the truth.

  • So true :-)

  • she looks so clearskinned and pretty.

    x

  • What a bunch of ass wipes. No one asked you to agree with her. No one asked you to like her.She is talking about her book and lifestyle. You are free to do what you want with your life. Don't fault her or judge her until you have fived her life. If you feel you wasted your time watching this video, that was your choice!

  • Beauty all around inside and out, thats rare.

  • She really does look great, She looks just like she did in Clueless and that was 15 years ago - and people she does not mean that you can eat a lot Veges and it Cure what ever Diseases you have. She is talking about stopping the problem b4 it starts - Live Healthy BE Healthy

  • i didn't know Alicia Silverstone was a qualified physician

  • kodosbp: "Qualified physician" is an oxymoron, moron...

  • @dearyogini

youd Luv the raw vegan vids by

    LIFE REGENERATOR

  • wow i havn't seen alicia since he was in Clueless

  • I work with animals train them dogs for stock, i visited an abatoir once and it changed me ,there was a weird feeling to the place the sites inside shocked me, now i dont eat meat i dont need to, my friend worked or lasted 2 weeks in a meat factory he said it was like hell, cows are a very concious being if you go into a field they will spot you every time on the approach, pain is universal, here in Ireland the country is over run with cattle more than people all that slurry.

  • @gaelgeseomra : I couldn't do it! There's just no way I could go into an abatoir. :o(

  • what an idiot! Should I listen to her opinions because she is an actress? Am I a bad person because I enjoy a good steak? Stick to acting Alicia! How does posing naked relate to being vegan anyway? I just wasted 5 minutes of my life watching this... what about the ethical treatment of plants and trees?!

  • i know everyone always says this, but if you really dont agree with peta's views, why do you watch this stuff???

  • Do you have a fart crossways? What is your major malfunction? I suspect you have wasted more than 5 minutes doing more stupid things that watching a video about people who choose a different lifestyle. I wonder what country you live in to have such a angry, moronic demener?

  • Its alot more difficult to be a vegetarian/vegan in a world dominated by meat eaters so I don't know why meat eaters get so worked up. I was a meat eater then I changed to veg at 18 yrs old, noone forced me to change I just opened my mind to a different way of living and a different philosophy.

  • I love alicia silverstone because of this. go alicia! go peta!

  • @Ilovedthe90s1 what she says makes sense. This vegetarianism always helps in curing diseases. The source of all diseases if mainly food and if you control your food, you can be healthy. This is being practised in India since a long time. And most of the vegetarians are healthy and intelligent. This is one of the reason we are giving competition to Americans in software and science.

  • What's that thing growing on her forehead?

Must be lies she just told. Like your diet alone is going to cure diseases....

  • there are so many animals BECUASE we overbreed them. we are the problem. they deserve their own lives, not relative to what we want or what we think

  • It will make you look younger!

    It will heal you!

    It will cure cancer!

Did she really say we should stop wasting money on finding cures for diseases?

  • ever since i became a vegetarian, 8 yrs ago i feel soo much better, i have been thinking about going vegan! People question what i can eat and if i am healthy but i think im healthier than some of my friends who stuff burgers in their mouth, and people who question there would be an over population of animals need to think about how animals are breed for meat and people did not eat it we wouldnt breed them ! lol x

  • What the hell, switching to a vegan diet will not cure cancer or help with diabetes, there is nothing that pisses me off more than unscientific facts.

  • Ive been a vegan for about a month..and Im STRUGGLING, but I'm glad shes making a book with hopefully good recipes.

  • @Nicoleiia I guess you dont find good vegan/vegetarian food where you live. It's not because you're vegan that you're struggling, but perhaps because you dont know how to manage it.

  • I'm not a vegan, but I am a food lover. I think I might check that book out.

  • Thank you for making this! Vegan is the best way to go!!!

  • Yay Alicia!

  • But... If she's anything to go by, this book'll give you awful skin!

  • I have been a vegan for 1 year 10 months (woohoo) I did eat cheese 3 times during this time but that was my only slips.

I compare my pics from 5 years ago to now and OMG it is like I have reversed in age, my skin looked so crap when I was 18 (6 years ago) and now its fresh and clear.

Anyway good vid, even if you want to become a vegan for vanity reasons it is still a good reason, vegetarians are equally nice ofc ;)

    5/5

  • She's certainly not "clueless" any more! Great words of wisdom. Fellow vegan here too...

  • i love her book, i bought it yesterday !

  • Thank you, Alicia. =D

  • aww!

  • PETA are a joke. They only do it for the money.

  • yer go vegan its worth it getting this book for my mum

  • I love you and I will check out what you're saying

  • When does the book come out?

  • It is out!

  • He He that's why I'm a Vegan. And my girlfriend said to me. You know I think Vegans taste better. (He heh ehh hehehehe) But yeah..um...so to cannibal's were eating a clown. One turns to the other and says "Does this taste funny to you?"

  • Gonna get this book very soon hmm maybe RIGHT NOW =D

  • i can't wait to read this book :)

  • Love her! She's so right, it makes you feel so much better. And it's delicious.

  • clueless

    XD :)

  • I'm a vegetarian. I was sick with a cold that was going around at work. I was sick from start to finish for 4 days. Smoothies definitely help heal colds or flus!

  • FiRST ?? !! YAY .. go Alicia !! lol . I don't think i'll ever be a vegann but I love being a vegetarian

  • You can make yourself sick with diet and you can make yourself well with diet.

    Thanks Alicia!

  • nice! how can i get the book! :?

  • I wonder if she eats man meat...

  • woo first comment :)

  • congrats on the new book!!!! i can't wait to read it.
