@BlackOAT well it is a prob but U could try some of things like unplugging any usb plugged into your system while loading dban and if have any built in card reader or similar port try disabling it from the bios and running dban again
Dude i was using this hard drive and one day is corrupts showing me a message that it needs to be formatted. Its a WD 500Gb with USb 3.0. Will this software work for my Hard Drive or i have to do something else?
P/s: I did not drop it, wet it or heat it up. It just happend by itself

@RAZER855 from what you say it seems like it coud b a hardware issue im not sure year ago i faced a similar issue hard was working very slow indeed it was a 7200 rpm hard and was giving an imienent failure error well try this solution and one thing it is time consuming try this if after this you still get an error or hard is working slow i suggest take it to servie center of wd or change it

@jerrywalmer hmmm seems like a virus issue what do you mean it doesnt recognize any errors let the procedure to complete and it will not detect any errors but wipe clean your hard and m sure it will work complete the procedure and try reinstalling os and see if that works

Everyone should run this disk on their slow computers. Don't worry about the warning, it only deletes useless damaged data. When you restart your PC your microsofts and internets will be super fast!!1!!1!!

What if your computer is starting, but stops just before the red internet light turns blue. No key board and screen is black? How do u get it to take a cd? Nothing is working. Try booting pc with hard,optical drive and any other device disconnected and try taking out cmos cell and disconnect every power source to your pc hold down power button for 30 secs and then put back cmos cell and start pc

Now, if the USB External Drive is under Warranty, You should backup data and ask for replacement.

This tool is only meant for securely wiping disks. This isn't intended to diagnose, repair, or correct physical or logical hard disk errors.

@HoneycombAgent If you have never opened a hard disk enclosure, I suggest you take it to a Certified Computer Technician if it has problems. Also, NEVER open an enclosure if it's under Warranty. Opening it will Void the manufacturer warranty.

@ali23408 The following software will correct sector corruption in a hard disk drive, with minimal impact on the data.
1. Fujitsu - Fujitsu ATA Diagnostic Tool
2. Western Digital - DLG Diagnostics
3. IBM / Hitachi - Drive Fitness Test
4. Seagate / Maxtor - SeaTools Diagnostics
These, and other tools are all included in a CD ISO called Ultimate Boot CD (ubcd). Be careful!!! UBCD also has disk wiping tools that can erase data. Use with caution. Google UBCD.

@ali23408 I would suggest that a warning be posted in the video itself. This process will perform a low level format (not an operating system format) and it will write zeros (0's) or random data on every sector of the hard disk drive, to make sure that all data is erased. BEFORE trying the process described in the video, viewers should be warned to not only back up personal files, but to also clone their operating system, or they will have to reinstall everything from scratch.

@ali23408 The Verify option is for checking the hard disk after blanking the hard drive. You WILL loose everything in the disk wipe.
