@kolosssal 1.because the ads are loaded way more frequently and probably cached, where as most videos are not popular enough to be able to do so.
or 2. because ads run off of different and more efficient servers not owned by google. ad servers have a financial incentive to be as fast as possible because every bit transferred means money in their pocket.
my suggestion to you: install adblock plus or a similar program for what ever browser you're using :)
