  • speechless, so sad

  • Hey I have an idea and it will save money and babies! Stop having more kids! Hand out birth control! A lady with seven kids living in a shit hole why is she having kids!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember asking the professor at the sociology class why the more poor a family is, the more kids they have and he said: "Because they don't have anything else to do", hahaha the whole class LOL.

I was born in Lomas de Zamora, but lived in Temperley then in Avellaneda, but I can't recall seeing poverty of that magnitude.

In fact, I remember a peatonal that was very cool. Let's face it, the media sells what's bad, but positive and good places, they don't.

  • It would be cool if they show Avenida Pavón, Avenida Mitre and other places.

One of the problems of Argentina (And I figure Perón was aware of it) is the religion which encourage the people to have as many kids no matter what and are against birth control.

What Argentina needs is the same as what the world needs: "More heart and less religion".

  • Argentina is not a poor country at all, it's an ''unfair'' country, they produce enough food to feed 450 millon people, ext. 2008, (almost the whole European Union) and export 91.7% of what they produce... pretty sad. ahh and Argentina population it ONLY 40 MILLONS... so, where the hell did it all go wrong????

  • umm i lived in argentina it looks fine, every country has some poverty.

  • is Argentina every going to correct itself?

  • and racist?are you kidding me you ´re american!!!!!! you have no rights to call someone else racist.........

  • i m´not blaming them !!!the goverment is the only one responsable for this kind of poverty (lack od education, unemployement)in my town a lot of immigrants have settled down living in extreme poverty i don´t know if thas the case of this video i don´t care eather!!!!

  • yeah now!!! since 1994!!!and bolivia( the 2 nd largest community of immigrants in argentina) doesn´t belong to the mercosur so does chile

  • im Dominican, the world is full of poverty, this is not new! Argentina is a vast country, and its population is large. This decline is not general is just in specific places :b..

  • No soy racista boludo.

  • well if you have populist governments that lie to people in order to increase their profits, and a increasing income of illegal immigrants we should´n be surprised when we see a deficient public health service........

  • why do these women keep popping out babies if the conditions are so bad! shut your legs for goodness sake.

  • That's a good piece of afvice your ancestors should have followed when life was hard, before modern medicine and wealth led low mortality rates in the West.

  • ***Birth control*** also helps lower mortality rates. When uneducated, destitute people have 15 kids each, of course a bunch of them are going to die. Where's the surprise in this story? All countries have poor people, but not all countries encourage people to use BIRTH CONTROL. Most civilized countries offer free tubal ligations for indigent women who don't want to have more kids, and my friend's husband got a vasectomy at a very low cost because they could never afford another kid.

  • because they get a small amount of money for every baby that have!!!!!!!!!!can you believe that !!!!no one advice these people to get a job at least ???i guest they had jobs in their natives countries !!!!

  • Igual, son todos villeros que ni saben donde estan los padres de sus chicos. Seguro que esa villera con siete chicos es prostituta y/o drogadicta.

  • I'm of Argentinian descent, and I have two words for my fellow countrymen and women: BIRTH CONTROL!!!!!

  • not comments. A comment would not help them. We will solve our problems when the two most powerful forces in the world are gone (USA and el Vaticano en roma)

  • They should sell more football players to pay for more drugs...

  • Why have the kids if you can't afford them?

You can always count on the poor for babies and overly religious

  • Wohoo. They have the RIGHT to have babies, and we, people of rich countries, have the DUTY to share our resources, which we don't do. Not their fault. Ours. Don't make it so simple.

  • Here we go again why can't they built their own country up? Who's fault is it they rather make babies than do actual work to improve the situations. These people expect handouts it's sad really its ok to help somebody but the country would be back to shit in less than five years with twice the population. They deserve what they get if their not smart enough to help themselves.

  • He is right? Rich countries steal lots of resources through their unfair trade agreements with countries ofthe south and east. The people in Rich nations have a duty to share thier resources. The problem is whenever these countries elect a government that is acutaully doing something to imporve lives of the people, Westrn nation start covert operation to overthrow them. And have you forgotten that term " The rich get richer and the poor get children" from the great gatsby.

  • Here you go again yeah. When you all will agree to no more make love to anybody, then come back in the debate. Rough? Yeah, for them too.

  • I wish your parents hadn't made love.

  • You say this to me? Gee fantastic judgment! Congrats!

  • So the fact that Western (mainly US) pharmaceuticals are charging the people in the developing enormous amounts for the medicine they 'produce' is now a social problem? Why don't you do some research into how the US firms bleed people in poor countries and charge them prices they wouldn't even dare charge in the US/EU? You won't believe the lengths these corrupt firms go to to make a cent. That's why so many babies die, corrupt firms withhold what they fraudulently 'patented'.

  • I agree with this. Yet it's not a national issue. It's a social issue. But never mind. I have other stuff to take care of, and some people who are glad that I'm alive.

  • is not my fault their president and the politicians from that country are useless to solve simple matters. by the way, im not front the USA but i live here, since the only way for me to accomplish my duty, is to learn how to kill something from its roots.

  • Not your fault. I understand your point of vue. It is a social problem. Yet everybody is responsible of the human being future. Including them.

  • Don't forget kids are not as expensive in other countreis as they are in the United States. And this is because of all the junk parents buy them that they don't need. They don't have to be as expensive but they are. But it's the parents fualt.

  • you as many others, are still ignoring the roots of the problem. Go to sleep!

  • let me guess america is the problem but yet you live here lol i know its coming soon and we need a revolution that che guevra bullshit did america impregnate them lol and bet the dads are nowhere to be found you halfass liberals points are thin

  • Aaaah look at the moron here Youtube warrioring while being blind to all the 13 year olds down the street with babies. Do I hear you shutting the fuck up icamoron28?

  • the tittle of this video should be

Infant Mortality rate rise in Argentina"

  • I honestly never thought of Argentina as this poor, how sad such a beautiful country.

  • Yeah, it IS beautiful... but it is also very poor. I live in Argentina, and sometimes, it's like there are two separate countries: the "rich" Argentina, and the rest.

  • everywhere is the same thing

  • Maybe so, but here in Argentina "the rest" is pretty fucked up. What is considered to be "middle class" is always struggling to make money last 'till the end of the month... it's pretty hard.

  • Al Jazeera is always powerful and cutting-edge journalism, but the title should be, "Infant mortality rates RISE in Argentina." I am a copy editor, after all! Do you need a new copy editor?

  • ROFL. I was just about to say...

  • That's right. I thought to myself; how can they have a problem if it has dropped?
