@tortueis yeah i had that problem. Its pressed in very tightly. I think from memory ...I kinda wiggle it in a sliding motion. Just take it a bit at a time before you know it will slide out. Now that i think about it... the stock filter had a rubber seal around the air filter which made it hard to slide against the plastic air box housing. Try and see if you can spray in soapy water or butter in between sides... should make it easier to slide it out...hope this helps.
