Emil Seidel's orchestra was from Indianapolis. In 1927, they were performing at the Apollo Theater on Illinois Street. Hoagy Carmichael persuaded them to debut his new tune, Star Dust, at the theater. They later recorded it at Gennett, with Hoagy at the piano. The recording is available on youtube.
