It reminds me of Zizek's advice to always keeping neigbourghs at arm's length. Also: I wouldn't put a bet on it but this is shot in a council estate either at Hoxton or somewhere around Hackney innit? Great memories. Great short film.

i did, everyone in it is a mate, most of the instruments are mine or my mates, we are all wearing pretty much our normal clothes... all i had to buy was a couple of fake moustaches, 3 plastic pipes and some silver spray paint make them look metalic. Everything else was already in the house of i brought from mine...

Also... the film is in no way judgamental about either of the character, it isnt a film about wether is good or bad to stay up all night having fun.

It is just an observation of two ways of life and the differences and problems that arise when you put the two together.

It is basically about the problem of very different people living close to each other in cities, and how they disturbe each other's peace.

Also, at the end of the film, the policeman takes the neighbour away for instrument theft

...so it also has a small comment about the police and how they usually misinterpret what has really happened.

In short, the neighbour is wrong in seeking revenge by stealing their instruments and so are the gypsies, not so much for partying all night, but for moving into a suburban neighbourhood and playing very loud music all night every night.

It is also about anachronisms. Those gypsies would've been much better of in wagons and as travellers, rather than trying to adapt to modern times

Actually, the reason why i made this film is because i do often party all night with my friends and we play music at 4am and stuff like that. That is me with the long hair and the trumpet, and most of those are my instruments, and since i usually play guitar or other instruments at ridiculous hours in the morning, my guess is that my neighbours must be going as mad as that guy in the film. That is the only reason why i made it. So NO, I DONT HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST STAYING UP ALL NIGHT
