No yeah, you're right. I vehemently dislike the Fed. But, with the system that we still have (though I'd like for it to be changed), this is a better use of our hard earned tax money. I also agree with the idea of having a strong military defense, but not a strong military offense. However, if we were to change the system, college wouldn't be all that hard to pay for, because people would have more money to pay for it.
I'd like to see more cuts in education and the outlawing of teachers unions. Too many people go 2 college for worthless degrees. Tuition increases are mostly the result of corrupt university administrations. Take the university of Minnesota for example, it has over a thousand staff members that make over a hundred thousand a year PLUS benefits! Most of the professors only work a few days a week. The football coach alone makes a couple million a year! The money is there its just being mismanaged.
But it's totally ok for actors and football stars to make mulit-millions of dollars for providing "entertainment." Because you know, teaching people really isn't all that great of a gig anyway; not beneficial at all, to anyone.

There were no confines of the law except for the british empire. My college president was caught red handed for embezzlement. Three counties in our area awarded 25 million dollars to a joined community college in conditioned to several agreements; one of which was to reduce the cost of attendance. Just as the minimum wage workers wage has gone up in the past 20 years.
As our incomes goes up, so will the richest peoples incomes will go up.
As mine went up higher than minimum wage earners. The bosses over me went up and their bosses over them and so on and so on.
They are not going to lower theirs. They could just shut teh whole company down, then where would you be? UNEMPLOYED!

I also agree with the idea of having a strong military defense, but not a strong military offense. I'd like to see more cuts in education and the outlawing of teachers unions. Too many people go 2 college for worthless degrees. Tuition increases are mostly the result of corrupt university administrations. Take the university of Minnesota for example, it has over a thousand staff members that make over a hundred thousand a year PLUS benefits! Most of the professors only work a few days a week. The football coach alone makes a couple million a year! The money is there its just being mismanaged.

The problem today is that everyone is told they should or could be anything (IE Obama wants everyone to go to college). This is a huge waste of resources. Our pizza boy would only have to go to work 3 days a week, plumbers after grade 9 go into apprentice programs. Not every class should get paid the same amount. There would be 3 shifts (9-17,17-1,1-9) each will live in different quadrants. The system will be designed by computer engineers

@dex1142 I think your confused about jefferson. He was for the power of the people and workers. He was for the French Revolution, and had he been alive, he would have been on Russia's side in 1917.

@amsterdam78 No, Jefferson was an Anti-federalist. Centralized power is what he objected to. He would of been sympathetic to the abuse of Russians by their elites (like here), but would of objected to centralized power regardless of who controlled it. While not the key Anti-federalist, the real poltical debate about power was between Jefferson and Hamilton. Jefferson wanted a weak central governmen and strong state governments (so that problem resolution was local. Hamilton wanted the opposite!!

@amsterdam78 The United States is caught up in a philosophical war between Anti-federalism (Jeffersonian Democracy) and Federalism (Hamiltonian Democracy). As of late the Hamiltonians (Republicans and Democrats) are winning. But the Jeffersonians (Libertian, Whig, and Consitution parties) are gaining strength!

Wow talk about biased reporting. You think that college students would be smart enough to make decent arguments without resorting to 'imperialistic war'. There was a protest at my campus as well (UCLA) but no one really took it seriously...

Imperialsim is one reason why the system is failing, it deserves mentioning. But it is also not the only problem! Most is the people argue about why this is occuring, but most of them are correct. Poor spending, nationalism, imperialism, pooring management of the welfare system, corporate welfare, corruption, and apathy are all to blame! 20th century history has shown that this is a receipe for facsim or communism!

The old SDS ers (Students for a Democratic Society) still want the revolution they never had. That is where all the 'imperialistic war' crap comes from. Young people get these archaric terms and slogans from these old burned out brain fryed hippies that tried to overthrow the US with communism back in the 60s and 70s and early 80s.

Sounds like this is more about hating Israel than fixing schools.......If you want to go to college you can. The problem is that nobody wants to work for anything. Why not go to community college? The 2/3 of Americans taking out loans for school are largely due to students going out of state to more expensive colleges. Education is what you make of it not that you have a right to make someone else pay for it. These groups in this vid a radical communists that want to destroy our country &Israel

Education is not a right. These people do not get it. I earned my education. It took me over eight years to get a BS in engineering. My wife, daughter and I ate mac and cheese and hot dogs. Lots of pizza, and now I owe $45K. Greed of yoouth. EARN IT......it is NOT YOUR RIGHT.........it is not the governments responsability to take care of your selfish ass. Go to the classes you are skipping, and stop asking the tax payer to fund your education.
