The I2C interface on the Lego Brick uses 8 bit address, so even though it only has 4 ports, it can handle up to 128 devices on its bus. We built a micro-controller to receive and Q the data collected by our 4 sensors then feed it to a single brick port. The 3 other ports are used for the motors.
