There are only 3 bands that deserve a place in the Pantheon of Music ,,, Moody Blues ,, Alan Parsons project , and Pink Floyd ,,,,,, in no paticular order
i wish alan would have not used that cheesy digital keyboard and used a real clavinet instead. as an audiophile, you'd think he would have cared about something like that!
Of course. There's no original band member here, except Alan. Yet they reproduce well the sound, and (in songs) furnish a big variety of vocals like in albums.
Ya know, Ric, if u just be reasonable & unblock yeewooihan, then his friends will stop littering all your videos with comments. But if you leave him blocked, here's what'll happen:
everyone will thumbs down your comments, rate your videos low, continue to leave these comments, & if u block more people - they'll just open alternate accounts & re post on your videos. There's more imaginative things too, but that comes later, hee, hee!
I mean, the newer ones are the bass player and guitarist on front (and somebody told me the guitarist is Allan's own son) good sound, though. True to the original one.
There are no original band members here except Alan Parsons (with one "l" and with "s") and they are all the same "new". Jeremy, one of Alan's sons, played guitar but on studio material.
where was this shot, have they ever toured in the Uk and if so where was it? I don't suppose they are ever going to tour again are they, would give anything to see them live
We saw AP at the Grove of Anaheim in October 2004. PJ (the guest singer who sang "Time" that evening) came to our table to sing along with us because we knew all the lyrics and were a little loud! Some folks could not believe we knew all the songs from memory. AP will be at Humphreys in San Diego, CA on August 7, 2009. We'll be on the Amtrak with our "Eye In The Sky" shirts!
Yeah man, saw his gig last year, just here in Waerdse Tempel, Heerhugowaard, Holland (15,000 people living here), and had a workshop with him in Berlin in november.
He's also a very nice guy, and takes time to listen to people.
last time they were in sheboygan was 2 years ago and i convinved my parents to go and it was awsome!!! we were like 3rd row i went to school and was like hey i was like 10ft fomr alan parsons and kids were like who? it was funny!!! but my parents were probibly @ this concert since their both big fans. and now i'm addicted thier awsome!!!!
Don't know that for sure. Just one of those things I've heard back then. I'm not positive, actually I looking for someone to reaffirm the belief. Heard it about Badfinger too. I think that's because they sounded so much like the Beatles as far as Pauls voice. I'm not for sure though. I had fogotten about this comment. I'm sure if you google the right words you can find out for sure. Something that was put out on the radio, I believe... Been wrong before.
Alan Parsons was a record Engineer and worked at the Abbey Road Studios. He produced and engineered records for Pink Floyd being nominated for a Grammy for Dark Side of the moon.
By the time he got together with Woolfson to form the Alan Parsons project in the mid 70's his reputation carried him all the way - he didn't need to be discovered by anyone.
AP was not "discovered" by Paul McCartney nor by the Beatles.
What's right, is that AP began is career working as assistant engineer for the Beatles on the albums Abbey Road and Let It Be, and that for sure left an influence in his style.
Also to say, this is not the originary band.. Alan Parsons is the only founder member here.. although they are all talented musicians.
Sin duda una de las mejores instrumentales de The Alan Parsons Project. Durante muchos años soñaba con poder escucharla en vivo, ese Yo Robot, y finalmente lo logré en A Coruña, en el 2004. Tremendo!!!!!. Sólo Dios pudo crear a The Alan Parsons Project.
top notch vid- need more I robot live, please - i could hear the female background vocals wonder if they were on tape or live with the session tres kool
Umm... Yeah I remember smoking some of that. But, my most vivid memory of this song is experiencing the Omni-theater (in 1970 something...) at the St Paul (MN) Science museum. I Robot was the opening music for the featured film of the time. For those of you who don't know The Omni-theater is similar to the I-Max Theater... A round, concave, overhead full-theater screen.
My favorite APP offering. I got to meet, sit and talk with him at a "Fest for Beatle Fans" in Chicago a few years ago. First, he's VERY tall; secondly, he's a charming man with a very welcoming, gracious presence. He did not make me feel as if I was intruding, even though this took place after the "programs" where he did a meet-and-greet thing already with the thousands of people. He was also kind enough to give me TWO autographed programs, one for a friend who is a major fan.
Where was this filmed? I saw him last Spring in Monterrey, MX and these are the same players... first 20 minutes botched due to sound, but redeemed for the rest of the show... a lifelong dream of mine come true to see him live. I used to imagine choirs and orchestras, but this still did it for me. Thanks for posting!
@yjloiselle yo los vi esta semana escuche su cancion un ojo en el cielo y la verdad es muy bonita vaya nunca los habia escuchado y la verdad ala persons es lo maximo
pretty cool. i'd like to see the full thing, tho, but this is pretty good too. 5 stars for effort - i think this is the only vid (on YT) of them playing this song live!
I got to see him live in 98 with Yes. AND I got to meet him at a HiFi Buys in Smyrna GA the day of the show. He signed my Definitive Collection cds and On Air dts cd. Sweet!
This clip came from Alan's drummer's web site (www.murphonics.com). You can find additional short clips like this one posted there. Heh heh, I should know, I helped shoot em. This is a 4 camara shoot edited by my wife.

Good, but better version in stereo. Type in Alan Parsons Project I Robot Live In Madrid 2004 (stereo) in the Y.T. search above.

This is a different live performance.
urbania70 2 years ago
Yes, but it's the whole song, and it's a lot better.

Yeah I caught that it was just the intro after I posted that comment.
I wanted the whole song. Whats up with that ? I somehow feel cheated. lawl
ReneeNme 2 years ago
So which is better? An intro with higher clarity, or the whole song with lower quality? I pick the whole song.
SigalaSigala 2 years ago
Yup, me too. Wish they could have provided the whole song here. This is just a teaser.
ReneeNme 2 years ago
It might be in stereo but the better audio level and clarity is with this one. Just sayin.

But this is just the intro...
