There argument is a question of sensitivity and what role positive and negative feedbacks will play. Global warming and climate change are both accurate terms. But the link is that the temperature rises AND THEN, after about a few hundred years the CO2 rises. CO2 follows the temperature. This is due to the fact that the main source of CO2 is the sea which literally takes centuries to warm up.
The fact of the matter is that regardless of the opposing evidence, "the debate is over". This is now a political issue.

In my country Norway (not EU-member) 25% do not think climate change is man-made at all (only 35% think it is man-made), while merely 10% in all related Scandinavian countries Denmark, Finland and Sweden (EU-members) do not think climate change is man-made. Coincidence? I think not.

Whether or not it is a "scam" or even the "biggest scam in history" remains to be seen.
From my interpretation of this event the revelations of the hacked emails seem to make no difference whatsoever: the independent review has yet to be completed and the science of this particular research body will have to be examined independently of the emails.

There argument is a question of sensitivity and what role positive and negative feedbacks will play. Global warming and climate change are both accurate terms. But the link is that the temperature rises AND THEN, after about a few hundred years the CO2 rises. CO2 follows the temperature. This is due to the fact that the main source of CO2 is the sea which literally takes centuries to warm up.
The fact of the matter is that regardless of the opposing evidence, "the debate is over". This is now a political issue.

Good to see that people in these posts know what it's about. It's the same in the comments section of the Washington Post etc. Very few believe the spin anymore. If by "scam" you're reffering to the hacked emails then this event has been widely reported and discussed by numerous pundits.
Whether or not it is a "scam" or even the "biggest scam in history" remains to be seen.
From my interpretation of this event the revelations of the hacked emails seem to make no difference whatsoever: the independent review has yet to be completed and the science of this particular research body will have to be examined independently of the emails.

And please don't mention Jeremy Paxman, that "report" was about as objective as one of Glenn Beck's on FOX .
The only time I've heard of the story mentioned on SKY, BBC, CNN is in reference to whether or not it will affect any possible deal on climate change in Copenhaguen.
Hardly widely reported. And I watch a lot of news as the news channels are the only channels I receive via sky digital.

Haven't seen much tv news but non-childish newspapers and radio4 (u.k.) featured extensive coverage.
If you are expecting news organisations to report a "scam", a "crime" (other than the hacking of emails) or even "the biggest scam in history" then you will be disappointed.
No one will know if your interpretation is correct until the independent review is done.
If the email content was reported as a scam, crime etc. this would merely be unsubstantiated opinion, i.e. not objective.

Well it's very interesting that the tv news haven't reported on this at all, whether people think it's a scam or not it's still a big story.
And I was never advocating for the news channels to say AGW is scam just to report it objectively and let people come to their own conclusions.

What has been released on the news as emails is a very tiny portion of the damning conversations that they had and others that they deleted along with data.
SCAM! written all over it.
Phill Jones has stepped down rather than dtry to defend his crimes.

After a good deal of consideration I have decided that the best way to achieve this is by stepping aside from the Director's role during the course of the independent review and am grateful to the University for agreeing to this. Will you accept the outcome of the review if it concludes that no "crimes" have been committed? Or will you conclude that the review is also a conspiracy?

According to this woman, the EU is basing its policy on opinion polls. Lots of people think climate change is a big problem, so let's do something about it. If that's how they work, let's have an opinion poll (let's call it a referendum) on whether or not the UK should remain in the EU. No? I thought not. They only like opinion polls that agree with what they are going to do anyway. Anything that goes against them they simply ignore. Tyrannical bureaucracy.

As I understand it, she references public opinion as an illustration of the acceptance, by the public, of scientific opinion.
As an elected politician she has a duty to consider and respond to both.
