This video makes me have negative emotions, and I am not sure why? It is just a tree, but then it is also a beautiful 250 to 450 year (guessing, not an expert) old oak tree in a pasture. I hope there was some beneficial reason as to why it was done. Why does plant violence bother me more than violence against mammals sometimes? In Florida, USA a 3500 year old tree recently caught fire and was destroyed; the tree was in a park and arson was the suspected cause of the fire. Sarcastic AWESOME!
¿Hacia falta cortar este magnifico árbol? Seguro que el abuelete que sale en el video tenia ganar de cargárselo desde que era pequeño. Vaya pandilla de mala gente.

@jackhargreavessays Hey, Mr. Tree hugging Know-it-all DICKHEAD. If you took the time to read the description you would have found out WHY this oak tree was cut down. Here, let me copy and paste if for yourself and the other 15000 over opinionated dickheads that are too ignorant to read it themselves; 'It was rotten on the one side and leaning over a lane, so due to health and saftey it had to come down (if it had fallen on a car or someone the farmer would have been liable)'.
you just cut down a tree way way out in no where didnt look rotten to me maybe at the top but the bottom looked good a very nice tree dead now. way to go... where is the lane at? looked like grass and weeds to me. ; lol it looked nice out there now its all open... gotta put my 2 cents in though .... you dumb asses !!!!! poor farm tree was just living his life. the tree wasnt going to fall it was not rotten at the bottom. only way that tree would come down is by lightning
3:00 Insert your entire upper body into the face cut and make sure as many people as possible are standing in front of where the tree is going to fall. That's safe.
beautiful tree.. cut it if you must nice work on the tree.. stick to the dead damaged ones though if they're that big... love seeing the big ones go down, but love seeing them stay.. (coming from a professional tree worker...)
@bigcloud950 What? It was a special tree. I will find another one. I guess it was getting ready to fall on the road. Not very many 300 year old trees left. I will start looking.. Oaks are hard to find btw. Extremely hard.

@jeffro1234567891 not really... they're everywhere... in california a 300 year oak tree probably sits next to another 300 year old oak tree and a hundred others... they're eveywhere... oaks are not rare

i guess it's fun to cut down such big trees, but i hate to clearing up the mess afterwards. i prefer oaks with more logs than firewood ;) and now for those who hate tree fellings - for each felled grown up tree u can plant dozens of little ones rofl
hey just got my tree stump grinded down...the guy said to leave the mulch ontop for about a week and then remove it and put top soil over so i dont have a big hole in the ground...im wondering if he actually grinded the stump down all the way and he just told me not to remove the mulch chips so i dont find out he ripped me off, if so then i will question him why he would not accept my visa and only cash and never charged me tax hahaha...
@MOARPLZZZ yes because seeds of hundred-year-old trees are so damn common. Cutting down trees does more than make a tree fall you know. animals lose homes as do birds; if enough trees are cut down it affects rainfall; and we choke on poisonous CO2 gas. So yes, lets just cut down every tree we see shall we?

TOTALY DISGUSTING it would be so mutch more intresting had he gotten kick back and choped of his leg! amateurs ,i wish it had fallen on your head! you deserve it you wankers. that is not how to take down old oak, you need to go back to school and listen to your tutors,if you do have chainsaw licence you dont deserve it.
That tree wasn't going anywhere! That oak would of stood 1000 more years! A tree like that don't belong to anyone it was there long before anyone owned the land and would of been if they left it alone... this world is a little bit sadder place now.
Personally I would have left it, but it is ultimately the landowners right to make the decision whether or not to fall a tree on his land. I have many large trees on my land and I choose to leave them growing and in fact I plant many new trees and enjoy them, but it is NONE OF ANYONES BUSINESS what a man does to HIS own trees!
It was the only tree in that field. Great for shade for cows and horses. I love the smell of oak wood chips and it burns so nice in my woodstove. I plant more trees than what I cut on my land, but it takes a long time for them to get big. I wish I could go back in time, I would have chosen to not cut a few of my big ones.
Non ho parole.... mai visto lavorare così male! Incompetenti e ignoranti! Ma come cavolo lavorano questi? Non hanno idea di come si abbatte un albero! In 2 a tagliare sul tronco? 3 motoseghe? Robe da matti!
Lots of people commenting on this tree removal without, it appears, reading the posters comments on WHY it had to come down. Read the FACTS.
1. The tree was rotting on one side.
2. The tree was on private/farmers land.
3. there was a public road beside the tree.
4. Landowner liable for prosecution in event of accident/damage/death.
I'm a tree cutter/surgeon for a major UK energy supplier. These guys were NOT amateurs but their techniques were flawed in places. The tree had to come down.
Wow talk about safety issues...how many time do they turn their back to notched tree...and standing in front of it while another guy is cutting ....terrible hinge wood too...no reason to put that much wood on a tree!!
I am not commenting on the ethics of the removal of this tree or the ethics of the environmental movement. I am an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. The tree had visible damage and advanced decay visible in the basal area. There are what appear to be conks or fruiting bodies from decay on the rear of the stump. I base my opinion on the image of the cross section. Given liability and litigation, I can understand why someone would want to protect themselves from the tree damaging property
@knotgod I'm with you on the damage, but is it really that bad to be removed. Nah. Your an Cert, Arb. b/c your a tree removal guy. The damage is so devastatingly clear to you, bet you can't even identify the tree. Either way no argument. Its in the middle of a field Leave it alone. Not going to harm anyone unless someone is walking their dog. They outta change their their path and find someone to help the tree.
@pbunyon2002 whoa how long did it take for you to come up with that one. Woohoohoohoo rofl ,lmao,ks. Bet your mom and dad are real proud of you , lets get little paul bunyon a new shiny axe that was born in 2002. Wow jesus hes smart. I d say hes got a chance to be validictorian of his high school class, maybe run for president some day.!
Also for all the tree hugging lilies in here, you WOULD cut that big old tree for a few reasons IF YA HAD A BRAIN. You don't and that is why you have the mindset you do. That tree has been struck by lightning at least twice and has severe rotting beginning throughout the trunk. The ground cannot sustain it in this shape much longer. Perhaps your dumb ass would like to cut it after it dies with massive dead limbs hanging there waiting for a kid to climb or any number of other dangerous things.
I cut oaks that size regularly here in the USA. Most are twice as tall and very few limb to the top. I gotta say when it comes to a man and his saw cutting these trees there can be only one. I would not dare cut on one while someone else is slinging a saw on the same tree. For crying out loud!
@pbunyon2002 good to see some fellow timber fallers commenting, i know it may look like we arent but we are. I have been studying forestry and agricultural engineering for the past 3 years at college and going on to do a further year of forestry engineering, weekends and any spare days i have i work with my cousin in the woods, felling and extracting, while also doing a lot of my own work which is manily tree surgery but do take on some felling jobs....
@pbunyon2002 .... (comment continued) the guy in the green trousers is my grandad who is now 74 and is a retired timber faller, straight into the woods at 16, did it most of his life along with working in the saw mills, now still working 5 or 6 days a week, cutting and selling firewood, doing a bit of felling and me and him are slowly starting to do a lot of sawmilling. The other two guys are some mates of ours who are contractors, they work side by side all day everyday felling big timber....
@pbunyon2002 .... (coment continued) and doing many dangerous tree jobs, they are very compentent in working side by side, not saying that i would do it, but i have seen them work on many jobs and they comunicate and know exactly what they are doing. Not having a nag at you by any means, just stating a few facts that other youtubers may find helpful :) Thanks for watching, keep up the work in the woods its a brillant way of life. I love the job.
Sometimes a tree can be completely hollowed ten feet up, and show no rot at the base, Ive seen it many times before. There are a number of factors that could cause a tree to be taken down, insect damage, stress cracks, disease.... These guys are just trying to make a living.
At the end of the video when the men go to check on their handy work, I fail to see any "Lane" that this tree was threatening and just appears to be the corner of someone's lot. Nor do I see any "Rot" on that Opposite side of the trunk to warrant the reasons cited to harvest this tree. While I am not a "Tree-Hugger" I believe that anyone can do whatever they want to with the land they own, when you are asked for the reasons why, at least be honest about it. Also Pros take the Upper Limbs off 1st
I work for a tree service, and there's nothing that says one has to "take the upper limbs off first"--not if it's in a field. Might make some of the cleanup easier, but there's nothing that says one HAS TO.
If we cut into our face cut like that, or have 2 people cuttin on a tree like that we would not be able to fall no more or get fired that was unsafe ridiculous but a nice big tree though, keep thwm warm for a while.
If we cut into our face cut like that, or have 2 people cuttin on a tree like that we would not be able to fall no more or get fired that was unsafe ridiculous but a noce big tree though, keep thwm warm for a while.
@martinfretwell hey man, do you live in a house? guess what thats made of? TREES!!! would you move out of your house because it cost a few trees? i didnt think so, and furthermore the land your house is on may have even had a tree or two on it that had to be cut down, bet the people who where there before you would rather the trees and greenery than ur fucking house parked in that space. stop bitching pussy.
@nag69 i plant trees for a living so i know what im talking about these guys look like complete amatures probably cutting this fine oak down for fire wood ,so stop bitching you city twat, the only wood you ever grew is in your pants when you see another man.
This Oak could have told you a thousand stories...

ELEMENT1111100 10 months ago
I am not commenting on the ethics of the removal of this tree or the ethics of the environmental movement. I am an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist. The tree had visible damage and advanced decay visible in the basal area. There are what appear to be conks or fruiting bodies from decay on the rear of the stump. I base my opinion on the image of the cross section. Given liability and litigation, I can understand why someone would want to protect themselves from the tree damaging property
knotgod 10 months ago
@knotgod I'm with you on the damage, but is it really that bad to be removed. Nah. Your an Cert, Arb. b/c your a tree removal guy. The damage is so devastatingly clear to you, bet you can't even identify the tree. Either way no argument. Its in the middle of a field Leave it alone. Not going to harm anyone unless someone is walking their dog. They outta change their their path and find someone to help the tree.
Turkeylee 10 months ago
aww, why cut down such a big beautiful tree?
chargerfish1 10 months ago
These guys are definently amateurs. That little 441 should've never touched that tree unless you were climbing it and taking it down the right way.

06.36 can you not see the rot healthy trees are not that colour
edvardo12 10 months ago
Also for all the tree hugging lilies in here, you WOULD cut that big old tree for a few reasons IF YA HAD A BRAIN. You don't and that is why you have the mindset you do. That tree has been struck by lightning at least twice and has severe rotting beginning throughout the trunk. The ground cannot sustain it in this shape much longer. Perhaps your dumb ass would like to cut it after it dies with massive dead limbs hanging there waiting for a kid to climb or any number of other dangerous things.
pbunyon2002 10 months ago
I cut oaks that size regularly here in the USA. Most are twice as tall and very few limb to the top. I gotta say when it comes to a man and his saw cutting these trees there can be only one. I would not dare cut on one while someone else is slinging a saw on the same tree. For crying out loud!
pbunyon2002 10 months ago 4
@pbunyon2002 good to see some fellow timber fallers commenting, i know it may look like we arent but we are. I have been studying forestry and agricultural engineering for the past 3 years at college and going on to do a further year of forestry engineering, weekends and any spare days i have i work with my cousin in the woods, felling and extracting, while also doing a lot of my own work which is manily tree surgery but do take on some felling jobs....
zwinkey 6 months ago
@pbunyon2002 .... (comment continued) the guy in the green trousers is my grandad who is now 74 and is a retired timber faller, straight into the woods at 16, did it most of his life along with working in the saw mills, now still working 5 or 6 days a week, cutting and selling firewood, doing a bit of felling and me and him are slowly starting to do a lot of sawmilling. The other two guys are some mates of ours who are contractors, they work side by side all day everyday felling big timber....
zwinkey 6 months ago
@pbunyon2002 ....

This green approach has gotten carried away. Its a tree for crying out loud. Would you react this way to killing a person?
ValleyBassHunter 10 months ago
Sometimes a tree can be completely hollowed ten feet up, and show no rot at the base, Ive seen it many times before. There are a number of factors that could cause a tree to be taken down, insect damage, stress cracks, disease.... These guys are just trying to make a living.
MrNkallio 10 months ago
A class looking tree in a field or whatever, cut down and destroyed. All because humans are assholes. Fuck off humans.

Beautiful tree a real shame.
offalyfan 10 months ago
At the end of the video when the men go to check on their handy work, I fail to see any "Lane" that this tree was threatening and just appears to be the corner of someone's lot. Nor do I see any "Rot" on that Opposite side of the trunk to warrant the reasons cited to harvest this tree. While I am not a "Tree-Hugger" I believe that anyone can do whatever they want to with the land they own, when you are asked for the reasons why, at least be honest about it. Also Pros take the Upper Limbs off 1st
Sonny9257 10 months ago
@Sonny9257 at 6:20 you can hear a car passing on a roadway, I would imagine that's the lane they talk about...
jacktheripped 10 months ago
@Sonny9257
I work for a tree service, and there's nothing that says one has to "take the upper limbs off first"--not if it's in a field. Might make some of the cleanup easier, but there's nothing that says one HAS TO.

TREES!!! would you move out of your house because it cost a few trees? i didnt think so, and furthermore the land your house is on may have even had a tree or two on it that had to be cut down, bet the people who where there before you would rather the trees and greenery than ur fucking house parked in that space. stop bitching pussy.
